Chips + Salsa, Flautas and Margaritas (Cadillac and Watermelon Hibiscus)
    Janene G.

Love it! Let me start by clarifying--we only had drinks, chips, and flautas... but we enjoyed every second of them. The watermelon hibiscus drink wasn't great, so we sent it back. But the Cadillac margaritas? They hit the spot and were STRONG! The salsa with the chips were spicy, different, and delicious, and the flautas were good--covered in veggies and sauce. We sat at the bar, enjoyed the breeze, and had a great time. Service was attentive, responsive and kind. We had a great time. Try it. You won't be disappointed!

My husband has been wanting to try this place out since seeing so many rave reviews on the Internets. He initially wanted us to go here for Mother's Day, but there were no reservations available when he got around to making them. My Mother's Day review of the place that we did go to didn't end well, and after a series of unfortunate events, this review will suffer a similar fate. On a whim, hubby told us to "get ready 'cause we're gonna get something to eat!" He had Buen Provecho in mind. I was able to make us reservations online whilst en route without any reservations. Parking for DTLB is more hit than miss, but you'll be walking a bit to get to your intended destination. It was a beautiful summer afternoon, so the walk from the garage was a lovely one. The hostess greeted and sat us quickly, after confirming our reservations for 4. Honestly, I don't think we really needed the reservation, but it's currently World Cup Season, and the reservation gave us an upper hand at seating. Hubby's first impression was that the place was smaller than what he's seen on the Internets. The videos he showed me were 0.5 videos so there's that. Decor is bright and colorful, the other patrons seemed happy and joyful, the World Cup game was on the TVs, and the menu looked enticing. The twins were given kids' menus, but ended up ordering from the regular menu. We ordered Palomas (Happy Hour is M-F from 2-5pm), Horchatas, Cokes, Chips and Salsa, Hot Honey Wings, Carne Asada Plates, Costillas Norteños, and the Prime Ribeye. The Palomas I'm used to ordering almost always have some kind of citrus on the rim or in the drink. Our Palomas were only rimmed with Tajin. I'm also usually a cheap drunk, feeling the effects of the alcohol mid-drink, but didn't with said drink. One of the twins' horchatas had a tiny flying friend in the drink, so we sent that back. 10 minutes and one reminder later, a new horchata was brought to us. I usually have to tell the twins to ease up on their drinks, but they hardly touched the drinks. They said "it doesn't even taste like horchata!" I tried the newer drink and it was WAY watered down. Like the very bottom of the vitrolero without any drink left. We were told that we couldn't order anymore horchata because there wasn't anymore, so that confirmed my last sentence and the lack of taste. So the twins ordered sodas and those had the right flavor. The chips and salsa come with seasoned chips and three different salsas: a red, a green, and maybe a salsa macha. I tried the green one first, and it was okay. The red one had no spice or kick (or flavor for that matter), and the salsa macha one was strictly oil and, again, no flavor. Hubby agreed. The wings were good, with a very slight sweet taste and not much heat (if any at all). Hubby and my youngest twin ate most of the wings. The twins enjoyed their carne asada plates. They said the beans and rice "were okay". I ended up eating the pickled cauliflower that came with our dishes only cause I'm a fan of pickled things. My Costillas Norteñas came with four full pieces of short rib, and they were pretty decent cuts without a lot of fat on them. I was able to tear the meat apart with my fingers, no problem, and biting into the meat was easy as the meat was pretty tender. Hubby's ribeye was cooked to his liking and was tender and easy to cut into. He asked for some hot sauce and he was given La Mamà Hot Habanero Sauce. I didn't finish my rice or my beans, even for the small dishes that they were in. They were good, but there was a flavor that wasn't as appealing to me. The corn tortillas we were given... The twins thought they were weird, but made tacos with them anyway. Hubby said the tortillas were good, and asked for more. I thought they could've have been cooked better. It seemed like they were heated up before and then set aside, and then warmed up slightly, then thrown on the plate. The twins ordered the churros for dessert and they were the best part of the meal. Warm, crispy, drizzled in chocolate and not overly sweet or greasy. Our waitress, Ms. Laura, was great though. She was attentive and nice. The restrooms are clean and well tended to, but the stall that I chose to take care of business in had a crooked toilet. The whole restaurant is open concept, with a small border separating the regular indoor seating vs. patio seating. Walking to and from the restrooms, I noticed a few tables using their menus to shoo away the tiny flying friends that invaded my twin's drink. On a side note: I mentioned to my friend about our dining experience, and she said that she, too, dined here. She wasn't impressed with this place, saying the drinks were okay and the salsas had no flavor. She said the ambiance and the company she was with was the best part of the dining experience. The twins said Buen Provecho is 2/5 stars, and Hubby says it looks better on other peoples' videos than in real life. And that's all I'm gonna say about that...

From the moment you walk in, the decor steals the show. The lighting is beautifully curated, creating a warm, inviting, and highly photogenic space. Whether you're sitting indoors or enjoying the outdoor setup, the design team deserves full credit--it feels upscale, lively, and incredibly stylish. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and want to linger over conversation. The service was also attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant environment. The Food The food lacks the wow factor. Go to Buen Provecho for a fun night out, a gorgeous backdrop, and fantastic ambience. Just keep your expectations grounded when it comes to the menu. It's a perfect spot for drinks and appetizers, even if the main courses leave you wishing for a little more flavor.

If you want the best service with the tastiest food you found the place. We came on Friday around 6pm. It was so lovely and vibrant. The place was filled but we had no wait. Everyone around seemed to be so happy and the ambiance was filled with joy and good vibes. Every dish is about $20. Makes sense due to the area. If you come parking is so easy! Park in one the city of Long Beach garages. Our entire bill post tip was about $80 Now for the experience. First of all the manager goes around to talk with the customers. He is so pleasant and it's clear how much he cares about his job. He talked with us for a brief second and after our appetizer arrived we got feee nachos gifted by the manager after hearing it was our first time My parter got the drink I got the mango agua. He loved the drink and wanted me to write that they make their drinks very strong. He was feeling it a bit after just one. The mango agua was soooo good. If only it could be colder. The food was the best part. The entire thought was my least favorite. The salsas were great however be prepared to have a spicy mouthful of flavor. I got the torta and omg it was amazing. If you want quality carne asada that is so juicy and tender, you need to get the torta. You will feel like a better person after eating it. Also it was so cute to see a small bag of chips with chili. Truly this dish and entire place made me so happy to be Mexican. My partner got the enchilada and it was great too. The salsa wasn't too spicy and the use of blue corn was the perfect touch. It reminds us how there exists other corn in Mexico besides yellow!!!! I need to come back for brunch. I will come back for brunch. We left excited! Truly their happy hour sounds worth it with the price for the tacos. Try to make it and let us know before I tell ya!

We visited this past Saturday 5/16 during dinner time (7pm) with no reservations. We were a little worried as it looked very busy, but we actually got seated right away (group of 4). Everyone was so friendly and our server was great, he gave us recommendations, and checked on us even with a busy restaurant. The food was really good I loved my carne asada tacos! Very very filling and the tortillas were bomb! My partner and mother in law both got the tortas and they enjoyed it as well! The portions are great and taste as well! Now let's talk about the margarita pitcher! Wow they do not skip out on the alcohol (you know how some pitchers you get are watery, doesn't even taste like there's any tequila in it? Yah well not here). We got the fresa margarita and it was perfect not too sweet and well balanced! Split between my mother in law and me we had a gooood time lol (but it's made for 4 ) As for ambiance it was great they played good music and we really enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely be back again I would love to come try the brunch!

Food: 7/10 Service: 5/10 Ambiance: 7/10 I went with my husband last Friday for their happy hour. All of the happy hour tacos are bomb, especially the carnitas taco. The flautas are delicious too. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely terrible. We were sitting at the bar, which is not that large and it's quite open, for 10 minutes before being served. And the only reason anyone notices is because I lost my patience and I went up to one of the servers and told them that we have been waiting for quite a while and no one has come to check on us to take our order. What makes this experience worse is there were people seated across from us whom the manager was laughing and dapping 'em up, while while we sat there hungry and confused. I was considering using this place for my birthday dinner, but after experiencing that level of service I don't think I will return.

This place does not meet the Mark for the price points. They're charging both me and my best friend love eating at Mexican eateries and felt that the price points were way exaggerated for what you get. Please note if you're bringing someone here to impress them the portions will be small, but the ambience is beautiful. I will say our waitress was pretty pushy and I felt very pushed to purchase more and or the Service did not meet what the ambience was. I will say the food is fine maybe take it to go. Maybe it'll be cheaper. I don't know, but for the price point, not worth it by any means. I guess they think they're charging you for the ambience, but you can get that at many other restaurants. This place was a hard no for me.

Uhhhh I love this place ! The food here never disappoints , I always go back for the aguachiles they have , the yellow tuna tostadas are also really good , I will say tho , we wishe there was more tuna then the sauce on top , our waitress was really sweet , she recommended us different wines / sangria to try , El agua de mango was a little watered down but you know what it worked out in the end cause it was really hot that day lol . Over all they really did so well in decorating the inside , it's so comforting especially knowing the backstory of this place . It's like stepping in your favorite tios house lol anyways , see you guys soon !

I've passed this place several times and always loved the vibe from the outside, so I was really looking forward to finally trying it. I went with some friends, and the earliest reservation we could get was 8:15 PM. In hindsight, we should have stayed at the bar we stopped at beforehand. Unfortunately, the service here was truly awful, and it wasn't just us. Every surrounding table seemed to be experiencing the same issues and openly complaining. After being seated, we ordered drinks and were told our server would bring water and utensils. We waited a solid 20+ minutes and received nothing. Eventually, someone in our party got up and grabbed utensils for the table. When the server finally returned, she brought our drinks, but forgot one of mine and said she'd bring it later. I asked multiple times for water and a straw. Each time, nothing came. I eventually got up myself and went to the bar just to get a straw. Our appetizer arrived; still no water. When our entrees finally came, my patience was gone, and I made a sarcastic comment, which finally prompted her to rush and bring water to the table. At that point, we had planned to order more drinks, but decided we'd rather go somewhere else. I only ate half my burrito, and the running joke at the table was that I might have to walk out with the plate if I wanted a to-go box. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. There was no apology, no explanation, just consistently poor service from start to finish. I can now say I've been here, and I won't be back.

Do not recommend. Shitty quality, taste and lack of care in details. The server was honestly really nice but the time it takes to get just our drinks alone is ridiculous even with how busy it is. Our plates all came at different times so our food got cold while waiting for the rest. Yall for the price this is not worth it. So disappointed. Chips & Salsa -- stale chips Short Rib -- comes with 3 pieces of short rib one of the ones served was just the bone part NO MEAT; one was complete fat. Had to return the plate. Enchiladas -- served us uncooked tortillas. Tasted rubbery. Asada Plate -- poor quality meat; hella chewy but did have good flavor. Beans had no salt. Rice oversalted. Tortillas not warmed up tasted like they'd been sitting then served to my plate. Mole Beef ribs - tastes like uncooked tomato paste; consistency of Ducal beans from the can. Do not get if you know what good mole tastes like. Drinks -- Margaritas tastes like water and took so long to get. Hibiscus Watermelon tastes like artificial everything Prickly Pear no flavor, watered down returned Pineapple Serrano was flavorless. After 3 sips, it tasted like dishwater not able to finish. At least they play good music.

First time here and it lives up to the hype. Food was absolutely delicious. The tostada on the tuna dish was stale but other than that, flavors were beautiful and fresh. The bartender was super nice and attentive. All the staff members were cool too. Inside is beautiful and open.

Everything was going normally until I got to the sauce options at the end. The employee asked if I wanted barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I didn't hear her clearly at first and said "mild," and she responded in an irritated tone that it was either barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I told her I had never seen the barbecue sauce before and asked what it looked like. She repeatedly just said "it looks like barbecue sauce" instead of simply showing it to me or explaining it. I even asked if she could show me the sauce, and she still responded dismissively and seemed annoyed that I was asking basic questions before deciding what I wanted on my food. What made the interaction worse was that there wasn't even a line or rush happening at the time. I wasn't trying to hold anything up -- I just wanted to know what I was ordering. The receipt listed the employee name as "Estuardo," although the employee helping me was a woman, so the register name may not match the actual employee. I'm leaving this review as constructive feedback because a little patience and friendliness goes a long way with customers.

Ambiance (5/5): Although we didn't sit inside, it was super cute, with classy boho vibes. The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Food Overall (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.

They always remember us and even know our usual order, which makes every visit feel a little more personal. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served surprisingly fast. We have yet to have a disappointing meal here. Our family favorites are the beef and broccoli, handmade chow mein, and orange chicken, each one packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time. The portions are generous and ideal for family-style dining, with plenty to share and usually enough left over for lunch the next day. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere keep us coming back again and again. Highly recommend!

Food came out in a good time, especially considering there was a large party having a birthday party at the same time. We ordered a number of entrees and 2 appetizers. Everything was pretty good with my standouts being the hand-pulled noodles and the tofu & shiitake mushroom entree. You could tell the hand-pulled noodles were fresh and made by hand. The sauce on it was good but too salty. The tofu & shiitake dish was served in a savory and tasty home/brown sauce. The scallion pancake was good as well, just much thinner than other scallion pancakes. The Chinese broccoli was good, but I thought it was more bitter than usual Chinese broccoli dishes. The fried rice was okay.

The service was quick, and the menu was easy to order from. The only downside is that parking can be a little difficult to find, but there is street parking and nearby parking lots around the restaurant. I also loved the wall art and overall vibe. Highly recommend checking this place out! We ordered: * Canned Watermelon Frusecha from the fridge - $3.99 * Quesarito Burrito with asada - $19.99 * Added Flamin' Hot Cheetos, nacho cheese, and dusting for an extra $3.99 * Hot Cheetos Balls with sour cream - $20.99

I wanted to dine in; however, just a long countertop with indoor seating was available along with some outside tables on the sidewalk; however, I felt that Cherry Ave was too close to the sidewalk and felt unsafe sitting there so we took our food to go. My BFF and I both ordered the chicken kebab plate and the chicken breast pieces were very salty. The hummus was waxy and the rice seemed more on the Spanish rice side (we figured they cooked on the same grill as their Mexican orders. Although we weren't impressed with their Med food, the portions are plentiful. I wouldn't mind trying their Mexican food on another day so that my change my perception.
