To start off, the staff provides a complimentary bowl of various chips and tostadas to pair with a refried bean and cheese dip and 3 different salsas (with varying spice levels). If you need suggestions on what to order, I cannot recommend enough the "Double Flour Tortilla Taco with Beef Trampo + Stuffed Taco w/ Spicy Mashed Potatoes." Yes, it's as intense as the name sounds lol! This is literally a taco WITHIN a taco...this concept blew my mind away and every bite is filled with a flavor explosion. We initially only ordered one to share but had to order a second one because that's how delicious it truly was haha! If you like bone barrow, you have to also try their "Smoked Bone Marrow w/ Peanuts and Chile de Arbol." The dish comes with 4 pieces of bone marrow along with 4 corn tortillas, and the staff will help scoop the bone marrow into the tortillas on your behalf. There's even enough bone marrow butter left that you can add to some of your other dishes. On a final and random note, their bathrooms even offer mouthwash, which was such a pleasant (and needed) surprise after consuming all that food haha. I was today year's old when this establishment became one of my top Mexican restaurants EVER. The food was good for the venue, but probably not the main point of the restaurant. The pork tacos and grilled lobster were good, well seasoned and fresh, but not special. We were all looking forward to the lechon and hoping for a memorable suckling pig with a crisp and translucent skin. New Yorkers are spoiled by the excellent Filipino and Dominican versions of lechon found in NYC. Unfortunately, the one found here had tough, leathery skin, but the meat was very tender. Not seasoned enough, a prolific assortment of condiments was provided. The space was very clubby, and we sat overlooking the avenue below on a 75 degree Mexican evening enjoying the warm breezes. Very ambient chill feel here, but the food could have made this place a contender. We enjoyed good wine, good conversation and the great local climate, Viva la Mexico!
