On July 11th I heard someone working/drilling on the outside wall in my back patio to my townhome. I looked in the driveway and saw a van with Bug Zappers logo on it. I thought the HOA ordered work to be done. Once the worker left, I went outside to take a look at the work he performed. He installed a wire rodent barrier to close off the hole where my AC lines run into my house. When I looked closer, I noticed that the AC electrical wires had been cut. Crazy because the AC had been running all day and I just noticed that it wasn't running any more. I called the HOA to let them know that the workers they hired, damaged my property. They didn't hire the worker. It turns out that the workers got the wrong address to perform the work at and must have been irritated so they cut my electrical lines. These people suck! On June 8 at 3:08pm I was on highway 4 east going around 70mph in the fast lane and right around the golf course I come to a van going very slowly and weaving - appears he was most likely texting and not paying attention. I see this all the time on the 4 and just go around. I didn't look at him, I didn't acknowledge him, I simply went around him and minded my own business but for some reason that offended the guy. You know it's California for some reason people get offended if you go around them while they're texting. He flips out, zips over to the left of the highway and starts speeding up that part of the highway to get in front of me. He's doing at least 90-95 or more and I quickly realize this guy is a not in his right mind, I back down so he can get back in front as there is no room for him to get in there otherwise and who knows what this crazed person is going to do, there's no more room for him to drive on the shoulder, he jumps in front of me, and then quickly whips around to my right side. I can see this is a Bug Zappers van, clearly marked on the side of the van. I'm not sure what he plan was but I take out my phone, there just isn't enough time to get the camera up because this is happening quickly but I pretend like I'm filming him. He sees my phone facing him and realizes he's doing all this in the company van and hits the brakes, I mean, quick, dropping to 40 mph (or slower) so it's literally ten seconds and I can't even see him back there. He knows he's messed up. I didn't get him on the camera on my phone but I do have dash-cam in my car so I did get him on camera, coming up my left side and zip in front of me and whip to my right side (see my attached photo) I called Bug Zappers where he works and spoke to a lady who didn't seem to concerned. I told her I had the video, she said to send it which I did. A couple days later I got an email stating "we will talk to our drivers about driving safely." Driving safely? This isn't a guy who accidentally cut someone off. This was a angry person who drove up the left side of the highway over 90 mph to perform some sort of road rage on someone who simply went around him and only stopped because he was being filmed in the company van. This guy literally risked my life and everyone else around us. This guy has no business ever stepping in anyone's personal residence. Imagine what this guy would do in your home! Bug Zapper management doesn't think this is bad at all. Would you want this guy in your house? Again, this nut risked my life and everyone around driving like a lunatic up the side of the highway at over 90 mph and zipping in between me and other cars to teach me a lesson. And why is he "teaching me a lesson?" Because I had the audacity to go around him while he was texting in the fast lane. Please beware of this company. There are tons of exterminators in the area who don't allow their drivers to perform road rage. And read the other reviews here in yelp. This is a pattern. (again, see my photo) read more

Save yourself the time and frustration of dealing with the horrible customer service of this company... I would give 0 stars if it was an option. My HOA hired them for a rat problem in my water heater closet. They sent someone out that set traps and informed me that they would take pictures and file a report the next day that would be reviewed and sent to my HOA for approval to repair the wall that the rats are coming from. I called the following week and they told me that reports take a week to be submitted. They then sent a different person to clean up the traps and switch them out. The second person said that there was still no report filed for my issue, so that they would take new photos and file a report for me.... At the end of week two from the date of the first visit, I called their office admin to check in on the report. She told me that there was no report and information completely different from what was originally communicated to me about the turn around time. She also said that essentially there was no structure to getting reports submitted in a timely matter. That they get submitted whenever ithe person decides to do their job...I asked to talk to the manager and was told I could not have the managers information, that the manager would contact me when back in office if I left my information. I asked when the manager would be back and was told that they did not know... The manager never contacted me after I left my information. It's now going on week three and I have no idea when the two different people will decide to file their reports so that I can get my repairs done or if the manager will ever get back to me. It should not take 3 weeks to submit some photos.... read more

The owners of this company really need to train their staff to represent their company a lot more responsibly. If I ever need any type of pest control, I definitely will not be calling this company. Based on the way, the staff drive their company cars, especially the pink Toyota Tacoma with the company name and phone number blasted all over it, drives like a complete douche while on 580, Vasco Road all the way through Livermore cutting people off running red lights and putting their safety and lives of others at stake while driving the company car. Please teach them how to use the turn signal and to negotiate changing lanes a lot safer than just jerking in and out of stop and go traffic. read more

I'm not sure how they have the stars they do....they svc the place where I live bc the HOA pays them and let me tell you I've been here for 2 years and my camera has only recorded them about 4x. I've called the HOA. to ask when are they coming and this company has lied and said a date when they never showed up. We have rodents and insects sooooo bad it's like we don't have pest control. I've been paying another company to come spray my place bc I can't deal with the issues but it's sad that our HOA. doesn't change vendors. There are Nate boxes everywhere and they're just there as decorations year around. We were required to go with this company through our property manager and we just finished moving today and luckily we no longer have to deal with them. Today was supposed to be the last day they came before we moved out and once again, they no called no showed. They just don't show up and they do this every other month. When you call to find out why the exterminator never came, they never have a reason for it either. They just tell you to reschedule and often times you can't reschedule for a couple weeks out. Sure they are keeping the cockroach problem at bay, I'll give them that but this company is extremely unprofessional. read more

I was turning into a full fledged Miss Muffit! Spiders were taking over my office and creeping down from the ceiling while I was on the phone. I called our landlord and he instructed me to pick out a place in Martinez. I called around and found that Bug Zappers had the best prices and quickest response time. Desperate I went with them. Results= instant! I was able to set up an appointment for that same week. I chose a Friday in order to let the office air out over the weekend. I hated the four hour window for the spraying but appreciated that they called ahead to give me fair warning. I was happy with their service and found that a quarterly visit did the trick. read more

After a neighbors tree was cut down, we had some displaced critters that decided our house was the best resting spot. After calling a few companies that gave me appointments over a week away, I found Bug Zappers and Wade was there the next day. He let me know that he was going to set some traps up for us to start and that he would be back in a few days to do a full inspection. When he came back, he found 2 traps set and located the trouble spots where they were getting into the crawl space and into the house. God bless him for crawling around under and above the house on a 90 degree day for over three hours but I'm happy to say that after 4 visits over a week or so we are critter free. Charged us a fair price with a 6 month warranty and left a few traps set up that are easy for me to access just in case there were any that might have been trapped inside from all the patch work. Communication was great, cleaned everything and put things back where they were when he was done. Will defeinitely use Bug Zappers again for any future problems. read more

We just recently moved back to the Bay Area and were in desperate need of a pest control company and fast! I was ready to put the For Sale sign back on the house when I saw a mouse scurry across the kitchen floor while unpacking! I quickly found Bug Zappers Pest Control and was amazed at how fast they sent someone out. That same day, I had a technician setting traps and scheduling a rodent inspection. The next day their technician, Filly showed up. He was on time and helpful, walking me through the process. After his inspection, he shared with me the work that needed to be done to exclude the mice, I approved it and he began to work. I was so happy with Bug Zappers, I signed up for their monthly general pest control service and love my pest and rodent free home! We can stay! A technician came out because we have yellow jackets in the area. He did kill the visible yellow jackets and a nest that was visible outside our door by spraying some kind of chemical but stopped well short of doing a thorough job. He left the dead yellow jackets and the nest on the ground, he did not remove an old inactive nest, he did not leave any traps, and said he would not go up on our roof because he was concerned about breaking tiles. I would suggest our HOA contract with another business. Had I known this is all they do, I could've just bought the chemical myself and spray the nest. Would have saved me time by not having to wait for these guys to show up. read more

Just got a invoice in the mail for cancellation while driver was in route. If are 30 minutes late to a appointment the client is not obligated to wait for service. I had an issue the last couple of days with wasps entering my house through the fireplace, and Bug Zappers made sure the problem was completely evaluated and resolved before leaving. In February of 2017, I received an invoice for a half a month's service, in spite of the fact that I had paid for a year's service. I called multiple times, and never received a call back. I have been using Bug Zappers for years. They are always on time, trustworthy, inexpensive, and they do a good job. They went over and above when I had some bugs in my sugar in the kitchen. They explained what bugs they were and helped me clean them out. On another occasion, a gardener must of trampled on my lawn with weed killer on his feet. My lawn was dead wherever the gardener stepped. I assumed it was Bug Zappers fault, but it was not. Bug Zappers went over and above their job and help me fix my lawn by adding seeds in the dead areas so my lawn would grow back--and it is working! I live in home that is backed up against open space so there is no shortage of pests to deal with. Bug Zappers helps keep them all at bay. They always give a courtesy call to let us know that they will be coming in case we forget (we usually do). All of the guys are very knowledgeable and spend time to answer my wifes never ending questions about ticks, spiders, rats, and the rest of the creepy crawlies. We recently scheduled a rodent removal inspection with Bug Zappers and they booked our appointment to fit our busy schedule. The technician started looking at the exterior of our home and pointed out to us that the tall trees growing near our home might be a possible access point for rodents to get onto our roof. He came inside and inspected the entire attic area and recommended that the holes from the exterior and roof areas be fixed to prevent them from getting inside, and that we in-fact had rodents in the attics (ewww!). We scheduled our appointment for the work, and they arrived as scheduled. The 2 technicians completed the work on our 2-story house in just a few hours. After they finished, they went over all the work they had done, explaining in detail, and how it would work to keep the critters out. I found Bug Zappers to be very professional, knowledgable, affordable, and their work was excellent (no more rodents!). I definitely recommend!! read more

This review is long overdue. My apologies. I was skeptical that any cure was available. I called Bug Zappers for a problem no other pest service would handle (and which will remain unidentified). They were very matter-of-fact which initially concerned me. But they were my only option. Jake (a GOD among exterminators) arrived (in an unidentified truck) and his super-confidence only confused me more. He assured us that he could find the problem and correct it in two visits. Two visits...end of problem. Slam dunk. Perfect game. Who was that masked man? Even when we arrived home after treatment, we could smell no chemicals but could discern the depth with which he had gone to apply treatment. He had been relentless and has saved our home. read more

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the job they do; however their billing practices SUCK. In August, I got a call that I had not paid a bill from April. This call, audible to my housekeeper, basically accused me of being a deadbeat. I immediately called back and gave them my credit card number to run. They did. Then I checked with the bank and learned I HAD paid the bill in April. I disputed the charge and Jodie reversed it. THEN today in OCTOBER I get ANOTHER call, still suggesting I'm a deadbeat and demanding payment on the bill from April. There was a previous occasion where something similar had happened. I think that I MAY have been double billed that time; but, perhaps not. Unfortunately, that time it did not occur to me to check with the bank or look at old credit card statements. I now have proof in writing that I DID pay the April bill. Only because I INSISTED they provide it. They blame it on their computer system, but OMG, how many times can they harass people for a bill that has been paid.? If you do use the service (which itself is VERY good), do NOT take their word for it if they suggest you have not paid!!! read more

I must say thank you to this company. During my daughters two year old birthday party last week she discovered a ton of bees flying around in the corner by my pool. As other kids were around they came and told my husband and myself. We went to look and paniced at the large thing of bees in the corner. We looked in the phone book, called several companies, most which were closed, but got thru to Bug Zappers and had a technician out within an hour to take care of yellow jackets. They called back and rescheduled for a Saturday so I wouldn't have to take off work again. It seems very obvious all they want is your money and don't even show up on time or correct days for spray service! and they can't keep track of payments I already paid for service when they want to charge me twice for monthly service? The company changed ownership without telling their customers! and their own employees come to find out!, The turnover with technicians makes me wonder why? ive lost my favorite techs and the office personal and or management doesn't care especially office manager( tiffany or tammy) and have had terrible service with the new guy wade he ruined my new home trying to seal up my house for rodents (rats) what a joke, There is still expandable foam all over my concrete,siding and still having issues with rats.
