    Chicken mole

This is a good place to have some authentic Mexican food (mole anyone?). Fear not, gringos, as they also have a traditional Tex-Mex menu. My one issue is that it is a bit pricey. And they nickel and dime you on everything. Example: You have to pay for additional chips and salsa after the first basket/dish.

    Guacamole
    Missi R.

I came here with a friend on a Sunday evening. I was craving guacamole, and my friend wanted a burrito. We both ordered burritos and guacamole and chips to share. The salsa was really good, and so were the chips. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a little bit of spice. It was smooth and flavorful. Guacamole was excellent! We both thought it was some of the best we had ever had. My burrito was the Steve burrito, which was vegetarian. It was very good and very large! I took more than half home in a box. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. The dining room was attractive and a relaxing environment. There are unique menu items and we plan to return to try them.

I really enjoy the food at Bugambilias and love their frozen margaritas. They are on the sweeter side, but still delicious. This last visit, we were seated right away with no wait, which was great. One thing to note: be sure to check your check. My friend was charged for every topping she asked for, and I was charged incorrectly for my meal. Service can be a bit hit or miss, but overall the food and frozen margs keeps me coming back.

    Carne Azada

I ordered the carne asada and it was delicious! Great flavor, especially paired with their red hot sauce. The restaurant is cute and clearly family-run, which gives it a warm, welcoming vibe. We stopped in while craving Mexican food and were really glad we did. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the place was clean overall. The tables are a bit close together, so you can hear nearby conversations, but it didn't take away from the great experience.

Tucked away in a strip mall, it was a little hard to find...but worth the effort. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. The salsa and chips are fresh and homemade, and we ate every bit of it, plus our combo fajitas. The spicy pineapple margarita was just the right amount of spice for me. I would've liked more tajin on the rim, but I know that's often wasted on others. A little pricey, but overall a good experience and we'd return when in the area.

    Beef Mixiote

After seeing all the good ratings, we had to give this place a try while doing some shopping on the north side. I have to say - it was really good! I don't know what they do to their refried beans (because at most places they just taste kind of bland), but they have this flavor that is so tasty. The classic chicken enchiladas had great flavor and were very filling. My husband had the beef mixiote, which was incredible. Also, if you want to spice it up, ask for their spicy hot sauce! Excellent service, good atmosphere- can't wait to come back.

    Food Truck menu

This is for the Bugambilias food truck. The truck was parked in the Deviant Brewing lot on the corner of Michigan Road and 96th street. I was looking for a light snack and there was the brightly colored Bugambilias Food truck. I had never heard of Bugambilias before. The clerks in the truck were super friendly. The truck menu is limited to tacos, tortas and quesadillas. I ordered the Quesadilla Poblano, which was made with lime-marinated pork and lots of cheese. My meal took about 12 minutes to make because they do make them fresh. The quesadilla was excellent. The pork was flavorful and moist. The salsa also tasted fresh with great spice. I haven't eaten at a food truck in a while. I did think that the quesadilla was a bit overpriced, my bill came to $16 before tip.

Tacos de asada, pastor and campechano

I love the name, as it's my favorite flower in Mexico! A friend of mine and I came in for lunch one day. I tried three different kinds of tacos and I was impressed. Usually places like this don't make very good tacos, but these were pretty flavorful. They also had some homemade hot salsas that I loved. The service was good and if you check-in on Yelp you can receive a free queso or elote dip.

There is some comfy seating, but I chose a table. There is interesting decor to admire while I wait. My Meatball Bahn Mi (sandwich) came out quickly and smelled super fresh. I love the blend of cilantro, carrots and jalapeños with the meatballs. The sauce is spicy sweet and the bread fresh and chewy. The sandwich is perfect. I wanted to try one of their mochi donuts or a smoothie, but I'm watching calories. I will be back a different day for an ubi mochi donut. Restrooms are clean and modern. I seen on instagram that today they would be having chicken wings so of course I wanted to place an order. I placed my order online. It said it would be about 25 minutes for my order to be ready. When I arrived to the store the owner had greeted me and I told him I was there for a pickup order and gave him my name. He had offered me a drink which I declined since I was just heading home. Matt is the owner he was nice and explained the menu and what all he does. They offer catering along with just cooking different items he puts on the menu each week. There was very limited seating inside there but you could sit inside the place if you wanted to. When I ate my wings they had just the right amount of seasoning and sauce on it. The wings were very flavorful. I was not disappointed with my order. I did wish they had fries so I could add some to my order but they were currently out. The prices were your typical prices for a small business. If you have never been to this place you should check it out. I know from the outside it looks a little deceiving but don't let the outside fool you.

First off, don't walk in expecting a big menu. You're getting about five sandwiches, and that's it. Turkey club, spicy turkey club, Cubano, the "Peter Dick," and the short rib sandwich. A couple sides, chips included, and that's the whole operation. Simple menu. Serious execution. I went with the short rib sandwich, and I'll be honest...when it came out, I had a moment. For $16, it looks like the smallest sandwich on the board. You start doing that internal math like, "Did I just spend $20 on lunch and still need a snack after this?" Yeah...no. Every bite was packed! The tender, flavorful braised beef was clearly the star of the show. The cajun crema brought a rich, slightly smoky depth, the pickled jalapeños added just the right amount of tang and balanced heat; not overwhelming, just enhancing...and the cheese tied everything together without competing with the beef. That brioche bun? Soft, toasted, and doing just enough to hold everything together without getting in the way. And the chips...honestly perfect for what they're supposed to do: add texture without distracting from the sandwich. (Next time I might throw them on the sandwich... for research purposes.) Washed it down with a Mexican Coke, because...they had Mexican Coke! ‍ Now let's talk about the vibe. Nirvana playing. Grateful Dead stickers everywhere. Chalkboard menu. It feels like a Gen X dive spot... until you taste the food and realize the guys in the kitchen know exactly what they're doing. That's the magic of this place. This isn't just a good sandwich spot, it's the kind of place that reminds you why local food hits different. I'll be back. Next time, it's the spicy turkey club.

The portions are a little small, but the prices are reasonable, so I don't mind. The atmosphere is one of this place's biggest strengths. It's clean, has a great lounge vibe, a pool table, and plenty of seating, making it a nice place to hang out with friends. My biggest complaint is the wait time. Both takeout orders took around 40 minutes for just two items, while dine-in customers who ordered after me were served first. I also found it odd that some menu items only include fries if you dine in. If a meal is advertised at a certain price with fries included, I think takeout customers should receive the same meal they're paying for. Overall, I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere and aren't in a hurry. If you're stopping in just to grab food to go, be prepared for a wait.
