In the little town of Hauenstein, Germany is a German shoe museum. Completely off the beaten path,…read morethis museum offers a like at history through shoes. Known for its many shoe fabrics, and stores this museum show cases more than just old shoes. The early machinery, pictures of the people who pioneered the market and how the machines that made shoes progressed through the years. Although the walk through takes less than one and a half hours, it's a trip well worth taking. I give a full five stars because it's a part of history I never thought I would enjoy. The complete tour spans four floors of history. Hauenstein is located 15 minutes outside of Pirmasens, Germany.
