My 27 month old has been at BB for nearly a year now and all of us couldn't be happier! She has learned so much, made friends and branched out in her interests and abilities. The schedule and variety is carefully thought out, and the opportunities they are given at the Toddler site (excursions to the park every day, joining in with the older Pre K kids for music and other classes; the owner even comes to give baking lessons herself!) are educational and relevant. I feel that she is genuinely loved by the teachers, which is really saying something. The whole staff is generous and understanding - and almost all are parents too. It is so wonderful to have found a place where my daughter thrives. She is always happy to go to school at BB and we are so grateful she has a place of her own!! read more

I have a 3 and half yr old girl who has spent the past 18 months in the care of building blocks .What I loved about building blocks is that they do a part time sked:)So I was able to collect my daughter at 1 !I did a lot of research trying to find a place that did part time in the city and I found building blocks .I am So glad I did ,the staff are amazing ,the faculty is always spotless and the children are kept the same .They always take such good care of your child if he/she is a little sensitive to the transition and that's what made my mind up .I love this place and the work they do:)keep up the good work Building blocks :)Sinead read more

Got our daughter enrolled when she was almost 2 year old. We could see the change in her behavior and learning at a really good pace. All teachers are very friendly, loving and caring. She looks forward to go to BB every morning and we don't have to push her drop off. Weather permitting, they go out to the nearby park. Collection of toys, books, activities is really impressive. Recently BB has started providing breakfast. Don't know about the cost, but would like if all meals are provided. Definitely would recommend to parents. My child has attended Building Blocks for three years and we plan to send our younger children when they are old enough. We have had an excellent experience. Mandy, the owner, is consistent with daily communication emails and is always accessible during the day for questions. She provides a nice structured environment while still remaining flexible. Mandy has made accommodations many times throughout the years to help our child transition and progress. I also love that it's a home based setting. We needed a quality, safe Daycare/Preschool in the Upper East Side. There were lots of options in the area but we lucked out with one that provided TV quality secure webcam access for parents to all the classrooms, very flexible schedules, and very affordable rates. I enrolled my daughter at Building Blocks Play Group in the fall of 2013 when she was 2,5 years old. She's in the pre-K class and absolutely loves it. The teachers are wonderful and my daughter has learned so much in just a few months. They also go outside to a nearby playground twice a day, which I think is fantastic. The kids all get along and I'm so happy that we found this place. They also have a live video stream so you can watch your child during the day if you prefer. read more

My child has been going to Building Blocks Playgroup for two years now and I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. Wonderful, nurturing teachers and a small teacher to child ratio. The daily and weekly activities are very impressive with music, science, cooking and art a big focus in the curriculum. We have been extremely happy with BB. Loving and experienced staff; our daughter loves going to school every day. When looking at other options, we liked that BB has a schedule filled with fun and educational activities. Our daughter is engaged and excited to tell us about her day when she gets home. Great teachers, really good program. My daughter is happy to arrive and doesn't want to leave at pick up. They do early reading, and music. A pick up service is provided from the subway at 96th and Lexington to the daycare. There is an annual Halloween party and parade and I'm looking forward to seeing her in the Christmas show this year. read more
