Now, I'm certain the kids aren't tracing states on I-Phones in the classroom, but the fact that my 3-year old daughter wanted to see California and was curious about it is so fantastic. She is curious about everything now, she loves books, music, puzzles and spending time outside. I am so pleased that when she's not with me, she's at Rainbow Bridge.

Cherie the own is a wonderful person as are the teachers. However, this is not a Montessori preschool. My daughter loved Willow Tree when it was a Montessori preschool, but when my son attended years later, it was not the same and that's when I learned it was no longer Montessori. The website is from 2008 and the sign is from the previous ownership when it was a Montessori school. So while I am sure this is still a good preschool for many reasons, it is very misleading to continue using the word "Montessori" in the marketing materials.

They care for the kids as if they were family, and Deb treats my daughter with a level of love and warmth that feels like grandparent-level care. They take the kids on wonderful outings to the children's museum in Santa Rosa, explore the redwoods, visit different parks, go to the pumpkin patch, and even enjoy time in bouncy houses. They also bring activities to them, like soccer classes, and each day includes creative projects that my daughter is so proud to bring home. No two days feel the same, and it is clear how much thought goes into making each day engaging and fun. They are also incredibly considerate of families. I have personally seen her scream at a few kids with my own eyes (and we're talking about 2-2.5 year olds!!) I can only assume when they first opened a few years back they may have had more patience and maybe the mental capacity to care for children (at least I hope they once did), but the fact of the matter is: they are no longer mentally fit to provide care to children. I honestly feel like they have no idea how to deal with children but just are not willing to give it up because they want the money. They put the kids down for THREE hour naps and then expect you to get them there by 8/8:30am the next day. Since my child started at Mrs. Durgins Playcare, (only about 4 months ago, mind you), she has developed a stutter, behavioral problems and tremendous trouble going to bed at night. More recently, when I came to pick my child up, I found her crying (I mean BAWLING), in the corner of a room ALL ALONE!!! ‼Please, PLEASE‼ DO NOT SEND YOUR BABIES HERE, you WILL REGRET IT

The staff was supportive through the years when my son was behind in reading. Because of their help he is now up to grade level and excels in math. My daughter is also excelling. Those formative years at Dunham have really created a love of learning in our kids. The teachers, administration, and parents collaborate effectively to run the school in such a way that funds are well allocated to additional curriculum that are fun and educational for the kids. The garden is by far a wonderful addition to the school and really created a community connection between the families and the local agriculture of Sonoma County. Things like apple pressing, seasonal "plant start" sales, and the pumpkin patch where each child gets a pumpkin...these are things that kids remember for the rest of their lives. The end of year carnival is always a blast! It's a close knit community. As a small school, be prepared to face the challenges of kids getting sick of one another. There is only one class per grade so kids stay together. That results in bickering and splitting off eventually with their people. They are like siblings by the time they leave the school. Some kids get along better than others. But the variation of personality types and the inclusion of all demographics really gives these kids a sense of how to treat many types of people in and out of school. in my opinion, this small country school is one of the best in Sonoma County. It's a secret gem.
