This business has been a fixture on Long Branch and Monmouth County for...ever. I've done business with them in my previous job and found them to be incredibly competent and professional. These people take great pride in their work and it's evident not only in the product, but in their facility. When you go to their place on Broadway, you're met with high end locks, doors, fixtures, etc. The staff is welcoming and they listen to your problem and figure out the solution. In today's case, I had a malfunctioning combination safe. They tried everything to get into it without having to resort to destroying it. The safe was defective but these guys tried all of their tricks and ultimately got into it. When all was said and done, I asked what I owed and the guy said "just give me ten bucks" and was apologetic because of my disappointment in not finding what I thought was locked in the safe. Bullet said they couldn't get it - I called the manufacturer Baldwin to find out they aren't an authorized dealer but they had 'heard similar mishaps w bullet' wasted 50 mins in phone w bullet to get the part. wasted weeks tryn to get Bullet to help me. they are disorganized and basically useless. when I asked to speak to a Manager they gave me some nit wit who basically said buzz off ! wouldn't spend your time or $ here and if you do confirm they are an authorized dealer for the product that you were buying because you wasting your time trying to do 'their' job!! read more

I called Bullet twice. The first person was willing to help me and asked me to send him photos of all of the doors and he would get back to me with a quote. After I send the photos, I did not hear back, so I called again. The person I spoke to that time said that they can't really give me a quote without walking through and seeing everything, which would necessitate a call-out fee. Then, they would have to come back and do all the re-keying, which would require another call-out fee and an hourly rate plus the cost of the re-keying/materials. In addition, they said they could not guarantee the date I wanted for changing out the locks and keys even though I was calling 3-4 weeks in advance, saying "I am not sure why the exact date matters". The exact date matters because I don't want unknown service professionals from the prior tenant's relationships being allowed access to my house when I am not there. I think that is pretty straightforward. Ultimately I decided to go with a different locksmith that, in addition to being willing to plan and book a future service date, was also 50% of the price vs. Bullet. I have no doubt Bullet does good work, I honestly think they probably have no room for new customers. If that was the case they should have just told me that instead of making me feel silly for wanting my new home to be secure. read more

Great place my front door lock wasn't working I was reluctant to buy a new lock and have to make All new keys for all my keyrings so I c alled them and asked if they worked on Baldwin they said sure so I took out my lock brought it down to them and they were able to fix it very quickly I didn't need to purchase a new lock And they only charge me $10 to fix my old one I don't know what could be better than that read more

Helped us pick out locks without having to go into the store. Got a technician over pretty quickly. She just made the whole process go smoothly. They're willing to help.. until they aren't. Explained my situation over the phone in detail and provided several pictures at their request. Then they tell me that they "don't do much work" on the door I specifically told them about. They proceeded to state that I could somehow remove a part of the lock from my door to bring in person as it could be possible to install something. I asked if anyone can come to me as I have no idea how to do that (like seriously who does??) and then they stated they 'could no longer help me'. Pretty sure no one's in the business of losing customers these days. It's a shame since I am local and received word from one as well. read more

I didn't have a deadbolt on my door and had been dreading getting one installed because I thought it would be costly and inconvenient. I was wrong! I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon to inquire and by 3:30 that same day, I had a deadbolt installed with 2 extra keys. I happened to luck out as his job finished earlier than expected and he was free to install the lock. The whole process form the time I walked into the store and he left my home was less than two hours. Granted, I did not care about the looks of the lock as long as it was brass so there was zero decision making. And, the price for everything was extremely reasonable. Last week, I had made the stupid mistake of simply googling a locksmith and calling the first one that came up with decent reviews. In short, the guy turned out to be an utter scam artist and I was beyond embarrassed to have forked over $700 (almost 3x what it actually should have cost) to him for what must have taken him a solid 3-4 hours. After realizing what had happened, I decided I needed to call in a real locksmith lest the scam artist decides to raid my house. I learned there was an ALOA and found Bullet Lock & Safe on there.
