Our daughter had been at the school for almost two years with zero issues (aside from consistent…read moreturn over) when a new teacher, Paige, was assigned to her room. Within two months, our daughter who was part time and also stays with our nanny from birth, began sharing that she was being "knocked" on the head by this alleged teacher. Our Nanny confirmed the accounts as well. This was escalated and the teacher was moved-the center director, Sandy, was pretty good in addressing the issue initially, however under pressure from high turnover-Paige was moved back. This was done despite our concerns and other feedback shared with us that Paige was "too rigid" and impatient with the 2-3 year olds. Within two months, our daughter was again sharing that the teacher was "knocking" her on her head-but this time it was an alleged game. We raised concerns again and were told that they coul move our daughter to another room. I asked for an investigation and received a call the next day from the business owner who indicated that she had done an investigation and Paige was a great teacher, who was needed from a business perspective. She was rude and quite unprofessional. She also told us that there was no spot available for our daughter except for with Paige, despite the center director sharing that there was a vacancy. We pulled our daughter that day- and the abusive teacher remains. Shame on the owner for not taking allegations seriously and for placing business need over safety concerns. Most centers have cameras-conveniently this one does not. Our daughter is at Gateway-thriving with no head knocking or hateful interactions with teachers. And she still talks about Mrs. Paige, her old mean teacher from the big school. So very sad for people who can't move their children in these situations...

We registered our 2 year old for MudBug Academy in April. We met the then director and assistant…read moredirector as well as our daughters teachers and were pleased with the program. Since then, the MudBug's owner Steven Ripley/ Sherry Rogers fired both the director and assistance directors. The registered parents were not informed until over a month later after word of mouth had spread the news. We later found out they had the former director arrested. We were never offered a refund for the registration fee. We were never informed of the reasons why the staff was fired. And then we were told that all but 1 of the teachers left the facility and that the new director was Carrie Rogers (the owner/Shelley Rogers' mother in law). The new director does not have early childhood education experience. We attended their open house on July 16 and neither the director nor assistant director spoke to any of the parents. Only the two owners , Steven Ripley and Sherry Rogers spoke. There were no teachers present at the open house. We were told that day that no teacher for the 2 year old class had been been hired. We remained apprehensive of the program changes but continued to wait patiently for teachers o be hired and transparency from the new administrators regarding how the program would be run. We were told to "drop by at any time". I went by twice and was not invited in to the office but instead spoken to in the lobby for a brief 5 minutes to the assistant director , Megan Garner (Who has a child enrolled at MudBugs there this year as well as an 18 month old who will be in my daughters classroom despite not meeting the age requirement that applies to every other enrollees and MudBugs not being licensed for 18 month olds) the only information offered was that "teachers would be hired soon". At the end of July, no teacher had been hired for the 2 year old class. We decided then to pull our daughter from the program. I called the facility several times to inform them of this - I was told they had a "tremendous" wait list so I wanted to give them the chance to fill our spot- but no one returned my call. By the time I got someone on the phone it was August 16. I spoke to Carrie Rogers At that time. And she was happy to remove my name from the enrollment list. But then when I inquired about the refund she said absolutely not and that they "only gave out refunds through the end of July but starting August 1 were not doing so". I told her that I had tried to get in touch with them all throughout July to no avail. Carrie Rogers basically told me it was too bad and she would give my number to the owner Sherri Rogers. Again, who is her daughter in law. Sherri Rogers did call me back but told me the same thing that "our program is what it is, and that parents needed to get on board". When I inquired about teachers being hired for the 2 year old class, no answer was given. She denied my request for the registration refund. I feel very uncomfortable sending my child to a school where the administrators are dismissive of parents' concerns and frankly very secretive with a lack transparency regarding the hiring and firing of their staff. I work full-time, as does my husband, and we have two other children to care for. We have to enroll her daughter in another program which means another registration fee. MudBugs choosing to keep our $250 registration, despite their boasting of their waiting list and knowing their could fill the position, is a hardship on our family.
