The service while friendly enough was incredibly slow. The food is ok, homemade bread for the toast which is nice. Too 15 minutes before someone even came to take an order, still waiting for coffee. Other tables have gotten theirs but being a single traveller at a table apparently puts you on the bottom of the pecking order while the server takes care of the locals. Hideaway lounge now. Not open on Sunday's and seems to be the place to go to play the VLTs. Only one server who was also serving the dining room. Good happy hour prices though. Had a burger two nights in a row. The best part of the stay, the burger really was very good. Overall, for a small town with limited options the Albatross is a safe choice. Clean and prices aren't too bad. Improvements at the service level would be very welcome. Just because you are cheerful and friendly doesn't mean I need to wait 30 min before my coffee even shows up. Better service would have gotten a three star review.

We have been travelling since about 11:00am this morning, and it's now about 7:00pm, local time, and we are tired of driving! Tomorrow is Gros Morne, so more driving is in the cards for us! But we knew that when we planned the trip. I've been saying all day, "where are all the moose these Newfoundlanders are always complaining about??!" And just as we get close to here, doesn't the hubster see two giants on a hill?! How exciting is that?! So he pulled over and I took photos, and we needed to stop somewhere and raise a glass of local beer to celebrate! Turns out they have a lot of excitement going on here!

The rooms are basic but clean, quiet, and private. There's a private entrance for the rooms. The proprietors Tonya and Dwayne also run a catering business so breakfast is excellent! I had a lovely yogurt parfait with fresh local partridge berries and apple cinnamon french toast. I'm pretty sure you can't get this nice a breakfast anywhere else in Gander. The B&B has free WiFi. Tonya was very helpful in organizing me a ride to the airport for an early flight. Overall, the best place to stay in Gander.

I had bought merchandise at the end of the event and when I paid the staff told me I pulled out my card too quickly so I had to pay again . I did so but found out I was double billed the next morning I called staff to inform them and they told me they would talk to owner and get back to me . It's been a week no reply and I have not been returns my money . It was not a large amount but it was my money.
