You can't find a better boat anywhere! In short, the captains (Tim and Ian) are exceptional as is the mate (Danny)! They practically put the fish on the hook for you. If there's ever been an asshole on the boat, o haven't encountered him or her and it's hard to miss someone when the boat is capped at 20 fishermen. My dad has been going out on the Bunny Clark since the 80s and me with him since age 12. When I was young we started with a 3 hour tour then increased over time. My dad used to do the marathon trips but now sticks with the extreme day and this has become an annual or semiannual trip for us together, maybe with a friend or two. The vessel is basic (exactly what is needed) but the people and experience are exceptional. Bring cash to tip the mate who will filet your fish for you plus extra if you want to buy flies, bait, and put into any of the pools they may have going. Parking nearby is $10 per car in Perkins Cove which you can't beat. read more

The Extreme Fishing trip doesn't disappoint! We caught so many fish my arm was tired! Some people did get sea sick, but that happens- take the meds, wear the patch, and wrist bands- possibly start out with a shorter trip if you aren't sure! Our friend was a little bit sick, but she got the biggest fish of the day! It was a 13 lb. Pollock! This was our second time on the trip and we would go again! Ian, Kai, and Danny were all great! First fishing trip i ever been on and honestly idk if i would go again. They should really write on their sites how long the commute is, how long your actually fishing, and to bring waterproof shoes and clothes. There were people in the back of the boat who got soaked the entire commute, and honestly if that was me i would have cried. I felt so bad for them. I was pretty disappointed with this trip. only 4/16 people caught something. Only fished for an hour because we moved 3 different times and that made a huge delay in our fishing time. Parking should be posted on the site that you will have to pay 20$. Small boat over crowded we called to see if we can get our own rods and they said don't worry we Have (custom rods) turned out there rods were so old big And rusted that we struggled to feel any bites 300ft down. Also the reels that they had were turning 10in a turn imagine reeling 300ft every time you think you had a bite to put it back in due to the rod being the size snd thickness of a tree. But still caught fish ride was horrible it's a lobster boat not a fishing boat also they had one mate for 20 fisherman. No help whatsoever, also they do not tell you where to part until after everyone is on the boat and tell you you parked in the wrong spot had to go back out of the boat and walk back and fourth to move care it's ridiculous at least have a sign saying it's the bunny Clarke's parking with an arrow and they charged you 10 dollars for the parking withough letting you know till the end.! read more

Here is the deal, they aren't for the faint of hear: real fisherman, sharp hooks, blood, guts, etc. However, if you have some Grunden's and a hankering to catch some cod with folks who know these waters better than pretty much anyone in the state, then this is the place to go. For a more accessible trip, go out just for the afternoon. It is cheaper, shorter, and good for beginners. Staff is very friendly towards "regulars" and very dismissive towards first timers. Boat is OK but cramped which led to a lot of tangled lines. Full day trip was 2 hours out and 2 hours back and then 4 hours of fishing. They don't tell you where to park, and then after asking and parkingll, they pull everyone off the boat to re-park because we did it wrong. Then they tell you everyone owes $10 to park. Went out for the extreme trip as we do at least once a year. Great Capt. and mate. Very knowledgeable and customer friendly. Because of the Cod moratorium they target species which can be caught and taken home. Plenty of Haddock. Drift fished most of the trip, current made it a little challenging at times. If the dogs were hitting and tangling us up, Capt. Ian would fire up the boat and look for better spots. All on board had extreme fun and awesome weather. Ian and Anthony tirelessly assisted many tangled lines and keeping the moral on board extremely high. There was no doubt in my mind or others in my party that Ian and Anthony most definitely had their hearts in it. Tim Tower rides tirelessly year after year in the Pan Mass challenge raising lots of money to combat Cancer. I thought the boat was a bit cramped for 20+ fisherman - drift fishing caused incessant line tangles. We caught very few fish except for the handful of fishermen lucky enough to be in the stern. The crew took total control of the catch, which was ok, except they didn't put them on ice, and as I only caught 2 haddock and one cod, I was more than a little put out when I discovered there was only one haddock and the cod in my bag when I went to pack and freeze my fish. I went on a marathon trip hoping to put meat on the deck. I have been out 4 times this year on other boats (6 pack) And put more on the deck! Now I remember why I will never go back on a party fishing trip with more than 6 people. Mate was interested in cutting fish instead of untangling lines. Lost lots of fishing time waiting for help.Captain even gave out a free tee shirt to a guy with the most tangles.(he thought it was funny) Used cut mackerel no clams. And it was the first time that I had to buy the flies. Yeah I get it it's all about the money.Even had to pay to park.Really Tim? I would think that it would be in the best interest of captain and mate to keep as many people on the bottom fishing as possible. They did cater to the repeat costumers with special spots on boat. The pool pays out to the heaviest fish caught not the heaviest targeted fish. One would think that it would be the heaviest keeper. read more

This fishing trip was a true nightmare. The captain knows your going to be super crowded and nowhere to support the social distancing at all. You are less than a foot away from the next person. You spend more time untangling your line at 200 to 250 feet of water. If your looking for a boat ride this will be the trip for you. You actually travel two hours out and two hours in. This is what they considered fishing for 8 hours. On your ride back the deck mate has everyone gather together in a gally designed for 10 and all 32-35 people are expected to stand for the two hour ride back in together. This was real social distancing. I can go on with the disheartening issues but if you dont believe me try it yourself. I would never recommend or take another trip with Captain Bunny Clark. A. Reason for the bad review is the boats blatant disrespect for wildlife. When cleaning up the boat the mate (Shawn I believe) used the ocean as his trash can to throw away excess fishing line and other dangerous trash to sea life. My dad and I went on the "full-day" excursion, and this was my first experience of deep sea fishing. The experience was challenging for me for a number of reasons: 1) Perhaps because of my inexperience, I didn't know that for the full-day trip, it would take 2 hours to get to the fishing spot.. I just thought that we would spend more time fishing compared to the half-day trip, not also spending more time commuting.. Maybe it's because I live in the ADD generation, but this really tested my patience, especially since during those 2 hours, I was subjected tons of water hitting me all the time, no matter really where I sat or stood. And there's not much to do during those 4 commute hours either. 2) Because of the windiness and the boat's propensity to rock, I struggled for a comfortable position to sit or stand in constantly because there wasn't enough space due to the number of people to really stretch out. And with the boat rocking constantly, I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride that never seemed to end... My entire body was sore the next day. 3) I bundled up as much as I could for the trip, especially since I am prone to getting cold easily, but I REALLY wish someone had warned me to wear boots, and water-proof gear from head-to-toe. My feet were soaked in ocean water the first hour of the trip, and my feet were unhappy the rest of the trip. 4) I don't really care that we didn't catch any fish, but it was kind of like a kick in the shins at the end that we didn't catch any fish. I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but I wish someone had provided a little more guidance or feedback, since it seemed like the seasoned vets were catching things here or there. Pros: 1) The crewmen were very kind and professional. 2) They came back on time as promised. 3) The woman I spoke to on the phone who booked my dad and me was very kind and professional, and someone always picked up the phone. I fish on many party boats from Maine to CT. I visit the BC 15 times a year, with and without my kids. It's a family run business with special attention to each customer. We catch fish every time we attend, the blood splatter is a sign of success. Once you get the fish to the surface, the crew will take it, bleed it, mark it, fillet it within an hour of landing, put in buckets to rinse thoroughly, and packed on ice. You will not find a more experienced owner and crew, and extremely high level of enthusiasm. Different from most party boats, the captain works the deck and if you ever have a problem with what is going on, he is available for immediate consultation. They offer a variety of trips for each level of angler, including Extreme and Marathons in which they reduce the number of patrons. The regular full day trips usually sell out at a max of 31, but that is because of their reputation. They also provide a daily fish report online that is accurate to a fault sometimes, and every keeper caught is counted for accurate reporting. I would be sure to wear rubber boots as the deck does get wet, and bring your own food as they do not have a galley. If you are looking for a booze cruise, this is not for you, if you are looking for a great fishing experience in the Gulf of Maine, the BC has been taking people fishing since 1983, and will give 100% to get you fish. read more

If you want to get on fish, these guys will get you on fish. I disagree with some of the negative reviews Ive read here. Im not sure what others were expecting when they planned a deep sea trip. They'll treat you well and want you to enjoy the trip whether you're a first-timer or a frequent fisher. They'll give you a ribbing but its all in good sport. Also its two guys trying to help up to 30 anglers land fish, fix tangles, clean fish, etc while the boat is rocking and rolling. They'll bust their hump for you. These guys know what theyre doing and theres a reason why people come back and become "regulars." They want you back and they want you to bring your friends. You don't have to tip a mate. However, you dont have to tip a waiter or waitress in a restaurant either. The dude is going to bust his butt to keep you fishing and clean your fish for you. He isnt paid much (im not sure if he's even paid at all by the capt) to be out there without the tip. Whatever you give him, he earns it. They provide you with a rod and bait. You can use a large cod jig as well. They offer to sell you flies and plastic jigs if you want to use them. And it's like a buck or two for the optional jig. They do charge you to park in their lot. They should put that on their website, but no way would I say they are milking tourists. If you want to cheap out, go on a big party boat for $60 and see what its really like to be crowded and tangled all day while you compete with 50+ people at the rail. I would recommend the extreme trips as they take out fewer anglers and are out longer than the full day trip. Its more money, but you get what you pay for. So if you love deep sea fishing, you'll have a blast on this boat. If you're just looking for a day out on the water, this might not be for you. read more

There were 31 people on board on the day we attended, 29 fishermen and 2 crew. There was clearly not enough space on the boat for this many fishermen. Due to the crowding lines became tangled at every stop. Standing shoulder to shoulder and dropping lines in over 200 feet of water (while drift fishing no less) guarantees this will occur. No basic gear (like pliers) were readily available on the boat. At the beginning of the trip, the Bunny Clark staff was making disparaging remarks about homosexuals. The banter involved was between a patron and the boat's captain. While I respect the fact that the comments of passengers on the vessel is beyond the crew's control, their response to inappropriate behavior and language should have been better handled. This patron had obviously also shown up drunk, this was apparent from the copious amount of beer he vomited during the trip, and from the smell of him. My wife (whose father is gay) was extremely offended. The Bunny Clark staff also, during the return journey on the charter, required patrons to "slide to the front" so they could clean the boat. Many people (myself included) were forced to stand for the majority of the two and a half hour return voyage. The boat had mechanical issues where the vessel would not start from the console for the captain. We noted on at least two occasions where the boat needed to be started from belowdecks "with a screwdriver". The passengers were not informed about the location or availability of flotation devices or life jackets, nor were they told about emergency procedures at the outset of the trip. The crew should have spent more time reviewing safety information and less time marketing the T-shirts and hats for sale at the port/truck. The crew instructed patrons to throw cigarette butts overboard. The Bunny Clark website advises that they "practice conservation", however such policies show a misunderstanding or disregard of the basic principles of ocean conservation. Some of the poles were older, and heavily used. The pole I was provided with had a broken drag sensor. The walkways and common areas of the boat were obstructed by patrons, buckets, coolers, and gear. Also, hoses overflowing buckets containing fillets flooded the deck constantly. Moving about was very hazardous. My wife and I both had fish blood stains on our shirts from proximity to the fish cleaning station in the center of the boat. We sent a letter detailing our complaints to Tim Tower, owner of the Bunny Clark fishing charter. He refused to grant us any type of refund. We would never patronize this business again. read more

I just returned to the Bunny Clark after 18 years off from deep sea fishing. The Bunny Clark was just as I remembered, outstanding crew, incredible knowledge of where the fish are, and a true fishing experience. This is not the boat to go out on and hang out for a day, it is real fishing. Expect to get wet, dirty, tired, and have sore muscles when you get back to the dock. They go out when most other boats stay tied to the docks. My first day back this year was September 30. It was the worst weather I've ever been out in but we got into the fish and I put 40 pounds of fish in the freezer. The second day was October 7th and it was almost as smooth as glass. 47 pounds of fish went home with me. The fish were fileted and the skin was left on, a quick rinse at home and vac sealed and into the freezer. Watch the mate while he's working, He works his butt off from the time they leave the dock to the time the boat returns. There is an announcement before they leave that advises the fish are fileted for tips anywhere from 3 to 6 dollars a bag. This is also mentioned on the website. Some of the reviews I have to shake my head at, the Bunny Clark Web site spells out what fishing with them is like. Sorry you guys weren't catered to hand and foot. Would you have preferred the crew reel the fish in for you too? The boat goes out every day. Maybe you should have spent the time to meet the boat at 5pm, when it returns and talk to some of the departing guests. Or just read through their website. Overall, if you want to catch fish with a great crew who like to joke around and have fun while they take great care of you, go out on the Bunny Clark. I fully agree with both reviews above. We got the real deep sea fishing experience with a real fishing crew. They were helpful, friendly and polite. Most people caught fish, although many were junk dogfish or cod and small haddock which we were prohibited from keeping per regulations. We did however return with lots of pollock and haddock, cleaned and ready to eat. That being said, I want to point out some things that were not so great. I expected the $85 charge for the excursion to be the only cost. When you got on the boat they collected an additional $10 for parking in their private lot. There were also additional charges for flies and lures. Most of these were left on the rods when we finished fishing and I'm sure were resold the next time. You will also be expected to tip the crewman for cleaning the fish. Be prepared with extra cash. They milk the tourist passengers who are looking for a fun social experience. There were way too many people on the small boat despite there being only 21 passengers plus crew, less than the 30 maximum stated on their website. It was difficult to move around the cramped space. Staying seated on the bench for several hours elbow to elbow behind your rod all day resulted in sore muscles. Lines were constantly getting tangled due to the drifting of the boat with so many lines in the water inches apart. This resulted in frustration to all and lots of time lost in getting lines untangled. This trip was intended to be a family get together to celebrate a birthday, with many ages and experience levels of participants including children. The full day trip was too long for this purpose. The 4 hour half day trip would have been plenty. Many passengers were wet and cold (and several seasick) from the rough seas and spray after the 2 hour trip out before we even began to fish. Be sure to wear old clothes and shoes, preferably waterproof. You will get wet feet sometimes with fish blood mixed in, and also bits of fish blood and guts splashed on your back due to the cleaning table in the center of the boat next to the seating area. Clothes were ruined. We had brought sandwiches in a cooler but eating them in the crowded messy quarters from coolers spattered with blood and no place to wash hands was not appetizing. Most people refrained from pulling out food until the return trip when all 20 plus wet,tired, blood spattered passengers were crowded like sardines in the cabin area while the crew cleaned up outside. Finally, there was no announcement made regarding life vests and emergency measures. I believe this is a safety requirement on any chartered boat trip. We had children on the boat, and the location of these was not obvious or ever mentioned. All in all, the trip provided an authentic deep sea fishing experience but the novelty wore off quickly. Our party left disappointed with the 9 hours of rare family time that could have been so much fun elsewhere. read more

If you want to go deep sea fishing in Ogunquit. This is the boat to go on. They usually go 20 miles offshore to Jefferies Ledge according to the Captain. The boat is always spotless and in tip top shape. In fact I don't think you could put anything more on a boat of this size. It seems to have everything. When we went Tim , the owner was the captain.
