Buoy Park's a small grassy area in Belfast city centre next to Ulster University Art College. I love it in summertime when the few trees are in full leaf. There's often street art, performance, music and dance events occurring especially when Culture Night, Festival of Fools or other festivities are running.
This park takes it's name from three sea buoys on display as public artworks which are in honour of Belfast's maritime history. They've been located here for years but unfortunately rumours indicate possible future plans to move them elsewhere. This would be sad :-(
Buoy Park's a beautifully quirky landmark which I, like many others, associate with happy years spent studying at the Art College. A lovely spot of greenery to sit in on sunny days with a coffee and watch the world pass by. Well maintained and relatively quiet. read more
