Incompetent employees that don't care about their business and have no clue what they're doing when it comes to bike repairs. I went in to get a slow leaking tire repaired maybe three months ago. They put on a new one that immediately goes flat again the first time I ride it. That gets fixed, and then the seat bolt shears clean off as I was riding it (which really hurt me). I go back to them to replace the bolt in the seat, they said it needs a whole new seat assembly. They put that one. In one ride, the seat is wobbling and falling off and is totally unusable. I go back AGAIN. They say, oh, well really you need a whole new seat that was just a temporary fix. So what the fuck did I just pay for a new seat assembly for? So you could charge me AGAIN for a useless fucking repair? I've spent over $100 in repairs at this useless bike shop. Employee basically shrugged at me. What a waste of my time and money. No wonder they'll close soon. read more

Grateful to Jim for dropping everything to help get a new bike rack for my hatchback car. I was on my way to the beach when I realized that the bike rack I already had had cracks in the hooks, and since I was going to be driving on the freeway, I didn't want to risk it. I tried going to another bike shop closer to me, but it didn't open until noon, so I was so happy that this one was open at 10 am. The rack took some figuring out and on top of that, I have a girl's bike, so it didn't have the bar that goes across to help hang it on the rack. It cost $200+ to get the rack and an attachable bar for my bike, so it wasn't cheap, but I know I'll have them for a while and I just wanted to get going. So despite being expensive, I'm grateful to Jim for putting me first and being open at a time when the other shop was not. read more

My bike had been sitting (indoors) for a minimum of 10 years. I took it in to get fixed up. Obviously it needed new tires and tubes, and I wanted front and rear lights put on it. The young man I dealt with was so incredibly nice and helpful. He told me I likely didn't need to spend the money for a tune up, that he would check everything over first. He sold me an inexpensive light kit that I am very happy with, and the tubes and tires are obviously great. The bike works just as good now as it did many years ago. Prices are very reasonable. My mountain bike needed some adjustment for chain skipping gears and brakes out of alignment. I've taken it to Burbank Bicycles before and was happy with the results AND their reasonable price of labor. This time was no exception. I got an up front estimate on price and time of completion. We called to see if we could bring our bikes in for spontaneous repairs, shop was excellent. My daughters Beach cruiser needed two flats fixed and new handle grips, they decided to fix it immediately so she could have it back- My little vintage bike " Little Red" needed a few things, and after a quick chat, the guys at the store had a plan to fix, clean up and get my bike back to me same day, which was amazing. "Little Red" came back safe, sound, cleaned up and ready to roll. She's a gorgeous vintage 1960 classic kids bike, that I'm excited to continue to polish up and use for my local Nanny kids, and my family too! We really appreciated the kind, quick, and wonderful customer service and repairs to both of our bikes, had a great time at the shop, thank you to the wonderful team there. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting into the top ring. During the tune up, they tried to change tension, but the parts were so so old, it would have needed a lot of attention. The owner said maybe it looked like the bottom bracket had shifted somehow. I loosened some parts, slid it over, and it did the trick! The little suggestion that saved me taking on installing new parts on an old bike. Super nice! Super knowledgeable. read more

I brought in my mountain bike on a Tuesday to get it repaired 3 days before a bike trip. When I got at the shop, there's a sign at the door appointments only due to COVID. Called and Jim answered. He said to wait for few minutes. Didn't take long, Jim helped me and took my bike in. He didn't make any promises as they were super busy with other repairs but said he will do his best. To my surprise, Jim left me a voicemail the next day and that my bike is all set and ready. Took out for a test ride and feels like new. Sales person took him time to help me. As in recommending a few places that might be able to help. And, with his advice. I did find a spot. And, got it fixed. He was honest. Helpful. Max is a great guy and this is an awesome shop. They're following COVID protocols, requiring customers to wear a mask and only allowing 3 customers in the shop at a time. Max was the only one there at the times we went and he was masked up, as were we. We brought in my wife's Burning Man beach cruiser for a replacement bottom bracket. I'd tried to repair it myself from YouTube videos etc. but couldn't get the cranks off so decided to bring it to a professional. I've had disappointing experiences at the other bike shops on Vineland and Lankershim so decided to give this one a try and really glad I did. Max was courteous, reasonably priced, really quick and totally cool. So much less hassle than trying to figure this out on my own. It even ended up costing less than he originally estimated. I will totally be back if I need anything else bike-wise. read more

They also follow good social distancing practices here and only allow 3 people in the shop at a time right now. I brought my mountain bike here to have maintenance done. I had a wonderful experience here at Burbank Bike Shop. I never been to this shop. I recently moved into the neighborhood and found this shop online. I called and spoke with an employee named Brett, he was the most polite person. Brett asked me a few questions about my bikes malfunctioning and figured out the problem. I took my bike in to the shop. Brett later called me and told me about a part my bike needed to be fixed. He gave me the exact model that would fit my bike (trigger shifter) I bought it on Amazon and took it into the shop. They had my bike ready to hit the trails within an hour. My bike is shifting nice and crispy. I would not hesitate to bring my bike here to be worked on. This shop has a high urgency when it comes to fixing bikes. The prices are very affordable with high quality results. They also sale different types of bikes. Just walk in and tell them what you need, this staff will not let you down. Really outstanding service! On a Tuesday I dropped off my old Trek MTB which was in need of a complete, new hydraulic front disc break, and a total overhaul of both gear shifters. A major job, even more so during a pandemic when EVERYBODY brings their bike to stay outside and avoid public transport. A bike shop in North Hollywood initially tasked with the job hadn't even touched my bike within 20 days, so I took it to Burbank Bike Shop! Jim took my bike in, warning me it might take a week as they are closed Thursdays and Sundays. But he promised it would be done within a week. To my utter amazement they called me two days later, on Thursday when they are closed so they can catch up on repairs, and told me my bike was ready to be picked up. I was there Friday shortly after the shop opened and my bike was done, rides, shifts and breaks like new. My new favorite bike shop in all of LA!!! read more
