Used to regularly service my car at the dealer. Had an issue come up. Tried to schedule service with the dealer. They were incredibly backed up. I get that. What I don't get is when the dealer indicates they will call you at a specific day and don't multiple times. So, I was determined to ditch the dealer and find an alternative that had certified mechanics and found Burdi Motorworks, and very happy I did. Burdi is a great shop. He also told me the spring and paint damages were caused by the salt for melting snow. He did not push us to change any parts unless it's 100% necessary. Vince and Team Burdi! WOW! A+ shop top to bottom. After brining my 650i into Elmhurst BMW (Avoid them!) for a rear side window power sun shade stuck in the up position. They told me they wouldn't remove the door trim to see if the mechanism was off track/needed a new belt for the drive train. Despite telling me the tech said he could hear the electric motor running when the button was activated. Elmhurst BMW refused to triage unless I ordered a whole new unit and just replaced the whole thing @ $900 with 2 hours labor included. No thanks Elmhurst BMW. I prefer real mechanics, and I found one @ Burdi! Vince was a pleasure to work with and he had my car back next day and was a REAL mechanic who fixed the issue. I searched for an alternative to taking my Mercedes Benz to the dealership for service when I had a bad experience at the dealership with overcharging and some damage to my car. Burdi's Motor Works' website came up in my search results, and the information on the company website described exactly the services I was looking for. Burdi's Motor Works' website has a great Q&A section with details on the different types of services that modern Mercedes Benz's need with their computerized service indicators. The website also has some general guidelines about how long certain items should last and when they should be replaced. The website brags that prices for repairs at Burdi's Motor Works are generally half the cost of what you would pay at the dealership. I happened to require the same brake service within days. My dealership charged me $750 for front brake pad and rotor service. And at Burdi's Motor Works, the price for replacing just the brake pads was $250 and the owner of the shop let me know that on most Mercedes Benz models, the brake rotors ordinarily last 60,000 miles. My car had only 19,500 miles. I have completely lost faith in my dealer and I probably won't be back since I feel like I was taken advantage of there. I brought my CL 500 in to Burdi's for work on the brakes. I was very happy with the work done at the time and the time it took was impressive. It has been a few months now and my brakes started squealing very loudly. I brought the car into MB and had the brakes inspected, they assured me that my rotors were not replaces as stated on the invoice by Burdi's. It was explained to me that the work they did made my brakes worse and I have a large ridge in the front rotors. I had to have the brakes completely replaced after less than 6 months after Burdi's repair visit. I am out the $560 I paid Burdi's and I have to pay for the same work again, looking back on this I would have not taken my vehicle here. read more

They gave a list of items that need to be fixed or soon to be concerned about but didn't push any of them on me. They worked with my extended warranty plan! -- I came back next year for my service and to fix a vibration. No problem again. They worked with my extended warranty to get some things fixed. They also recommended I visit a MB dealer to get my brake pump reprogrammed since it was throwing an error. -- Still bringing my car there after 5 years, nothing but good things to say. read more

One thing that could be improved is if you do have multiple things to fix, they could help plan getting it done all at once a little better. Carmine Jr. is my new best friend! I tried to do a self service on my 1993 190e since I had plenty of time and not a lot of money. When I realized that I was in over my head with an electrical issue, I called Burdi's and explained my circumstances to Carmine Jr. German engineering was over my head and I needed help. I felt bad because this was an "À la carte" for the mechanic because I had pulled the firewall apart from the dash to the engine block. I had a few other issues going on and Carmine Jr. always had time to speak to me even though I didn't appear as scheduled for the first time. I felt confident in leaving my car in their hands, but was a bit skeptical about what the diagnosis would be. (The problem turned out to be an unseen broken wire.) They did great work, quickly, and most importantly they cared. They took the time to listen to my problem and provide a real solution for me at a fair price! Very disappointed with Burdi Motorworks after reading all of the positive reviews. I brought my S430 for new brakes and paid $867.00. The car's brakes squeaked louder after the work was done compared to when I brought it in. They also broke my oil stick and didn't even tell me. I checked my oil prior to bringing it in. I asked them to top off all of my fluids. A couple of days later when I went to check my oil level, my dip stick was missing. I called Carmine. He spoke to me for a couple of minutes, stated he was busy and would call me back. I never heard from him again. Very disappointed. I will never take my car back to Burdi Motorworks. read more

Burdi's is the best place to take your Mercedes, period. They are about 50% the cost of similar work than dealership. Just because there is a drop in price does not mean that the quality of the labor drops they consistently do excellent work and fix everything on my car and let me know future issues that might occur. Carmine especially will tell me exactly what is up with my car without any bs if something does not need to be changed he wont do it and let me know that I still got a couple months before I need work done. This type of honesty is hard to find. They also listen to you when the dealer will not. The dealer would not listen to me when I kept on telling them that my car was making a funny noise and told me that it is ok but Burdi's not only listened but found the problem and fixed it.
