Burger King has empanadas! They were not great but still...it was cool. I always get a kick when I see different localized items at an American chain. read more

Yelp Challenge 2016: 93/116. Embers is located in Terminal A of the Aeropuerto de Ezeiza, more…read morecommonly known as the Buenos Aires Airport. We actually chose this spot for several reasons: sports on TV and a full bar, electrical outlets under the booths (but you will need the Argentinian adaptor) and finally because there's regally nothing of note to eat in terminal C. My friend was flying American out of terminal A and I was flying Delta out of terminal C so Embers seemed a good compromise. The menu is pretty extensive and covers the gamut: burgers, steaks, fries, hot dogs, salads and sandwiches. I got grief fobut I ordered a Club sandwich and a Coke float with vanilla ice cream. My Argentinian friend had the steak and fries and a beer. Of course, expect airport prices, but all in all, not too bad. Service was fine. The atmosphere was diner meets sports bar. I did like how spacious it was and how it opened up to a view of the upper deck of the terminal. There are no restrooms in the restaurant...you have to go to the ones next to the Hard Rock shop a few yards away.

One of my guilty pleasures while traveling is getting McDonald's from other countries. In Chile,…read morethey had empanadas and I wish I had tried them when I was there. I didn't want to regret not visiting in Argentina so I got some McDonald's while waiting at the airport. The kiosks make it easy to order, especially because it can be translated to English. I ordered three different types of cheeseburgers, loaded fries, and a crazy concoction of a McFlurry. Service was super slow but that's because there was only one employee doing everything. There were a lot of people coming in and out of the actual McDonald's cooking area and making their own food. It was strange but I'm assuming (and hoping) they were employees. Everything was actually really good and I'm glad I got my McDonald's! Food would be 4 stars but service and the fact that people were making their own food drops it to 3 stars.
Waiting for my #.

The ketchup is home made too and it's so good! They have lots of options and you can make your own. I love the ciabatta bread and "crujiente de cerdo" is the best thing. The desserts are also surprisingly amazing! I like the passion fruit one more but the chocolate one is also spectacular. Pro tip: you can double up on anything on the pre chosen burgers and if you make your own. Don't get me started on the potatoes! Once again -SO GOOD! They are crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Both Rústicas y las batatas are delicious. The whole feel of the place is really modern and the burger bar concept is super cool and new. The servers are really nice and they have an iPad ordering system that makes it faster and easier. YOU HAVE TO COME HERE. It's usually pretty full and there's usually a line but it's very very worth it!

We went inside to place our order (table service available in the evening when it gets crowded) and were handed a buzzer to alert us when our food is ready. I ordered the Stack burger which consisted of two beef patties with thick slices of bacon and cheddar cheese with hand cut fries that were delicious. The burger was juicy and very flavorful. The brioche bun was fresh baked and soft. They have draft beers here as well as soft drinks in cans. The thing I noted about the burger is that the patties were hand made, fresh and not frozen. The grinding process is also on the chunkier side and that gave the meat a lot more foundation and juiciness. I don't usually eat burgers when visiting Argentina, and I'll admit this is the second one I've tried here. The first was at a brewery/pub style place in the capital in 2019. My niece tells me that there are lots of burger places all depending on what you're looking for, greasy/gourmet or artesian style. All I can say is that this burger was probably one of the tastiest greasy or juicy that I've had. Definitely will revisit on my next trip.
