Then as I'm look at my receipt at the top it say "Feel good about eating" mean while my bag was drenched in Grease . The burgers are small with horrible proportions compared to the onion rings . Oh you want to add to your burger , yeah that's additional charge . Not $.50 either but $1.00+ . I'm beyond infuriated because I just spent $20 on a burger , rings & a shake & none of it was good . I have tried to like this place for so long and I have to stop trying. The first 3 times I ate here my veggie burger was either mushy all the way through like they didn't cook it or burnt on the inside and undercooked on the inside. But this last time was just unacceptable. I ordered two beyond burgers and didn't bother to check it out until I got home... I'm pretty sure they microwaved my burgers. They weren't even warm. After only eating there twice, I feel a little disappointed. I had some high expectations and they still couldn't meet some basic standards. They have at least a couple things I could say are positives. The first is that the decor is nice and the second is that the cashiers were generally nice. Beyond that, it gets kind of sad. The first time I came here, I went in hoping they had something different in comparison to what we have here in Anchorage relating to burger joints. What you see on menu sounds and looks good but even the most "unique" combinations still are just regular. The burgers are nowhere bad but sometimes a burger is just a burger. I experiment with numerous toppings and sauces but it's still meh. The fries in my opinion have to at least be up to par to your burger but they fall flat. They were kinda luke warm and lacking of basic flavor. My second attempt was a worse experience. I went in this LAST time thinking maybe I was harsh or being a food snob my first time and I usually try most places twice before reviewing anyways. I order a special burger off the "secret" menu and Chili Cheese fries. After 10+ minutes of waiting on a not so busy night, they got my order wrong. It was just the wrong burger which isn't a big deal but after giving it back, i waited about 15 minutes to get the right order. I go up there because it was taking so long and they forgot to even redo my order. So then again I wait a couple minutes and they finally get it right. They were apologetic of course but they did all this in front of their boss which can't be a good sign. The chili cheese were pretty depressing. The nacho cheese was cold and again the fries were luke warm. I usually don't write long reviews but I felt this was needed. Burgerfi is a eco friendly energy efficient franchise which has a lot to offer in the ways of atmosphere and chow. Conveniently centered in Midtown Anchorage. So, I tried the build your own: I choose a small.. it gives you some nice options. I requested mine to be cooked well - my preference.. fresh jalapenos and white chedder and all the fixings. Overall yummy snack! (The service was quick and very accommodating) Ambiance was great. Modern decor and a neat fan in the middle of the restaurant. Cool light fixture was another observation. My wife and I had lunch at BurgerFi on Friday. I had read the reviews and knew what to expect. 1. Small burgers. 2. Pricey small burgers. My wife had the hamburger, I had the cheeseburger and we split a regular fries w/ salt and vinegar. My wife also ordered a lemonade while I went with water $23. We found the burgers to be tasty and the right size for lunch. Our fries might have been cooked in the presence of salt and vinegar, but barely any of that made it to our spuds. Better under seasoned than over. We would eat at BurgerFi again if we were in the neighborhood, but I doubt we'll make it a destination place. read more

First time here. Fries were crispy so whatever growing pains they had have been resolved. I got the parmesan herb fries and they were decent. They did experience a problem taking cards at lunch time rush but to the credit of the person helping the person taking my order, they were going to comp me lunch. I ended up giving them my card info to run later but the gesture was very nice. Burger was mediocre. Forgot my bacon that I ordered. I guess not all growing pains have been resolved yet. The burgers are good but way too small. The fries are not good - limp and soggy the two times i've been there. The onion rings are amazing - nothing like i've seen before. They take a whole section of the onion instead of a chopped ring. Its really unique and they are delicious. If i'm in the mall I stop in just to get an order of them. The biggest issue is the price - even for Alaskan prices this place is pricey. Expect to spend $15-20 per person for a burger and fries. If the burgers were bigger and the fries were half decent I could go higher on the rating but to me, the portion sizes are way too small compared to the price premium. read more

This location sucks. The people who work here don't know what their talking about when it comes to their food. I went to order a vegan burger and they told me they were out and then suggested to get a chicken sandwich instead. Why would someone order a vegan burger if they wanted chicken?? I then asked for their vegifi burger instead and asked for it without dairy. So they told me they would take off the cheese and mayo, even though mayo doesn't have doesn't dairy. I'm getting a burger, of course I want mayo with it. They then gave me my burger and it still had cheese on it and looked like a 5 year threw it together. I also ordered a family size fry with my meal and then gave a regular size fry instead and then argued with me about what I ordered and did not want to give me the family size despite having paid $30 for this meal. GO GREEN!!! This restaurant is all about being Eco friendly. I had a wonderful experience here. I talked with the manager before I ordered as she could tell it was my first time here. She gave me a run down on how all of the furniture came from France and is all recycled material. Some of the chairs are made from milk jugs and others from recycled aluminum. The tables are reclaimed wood and other recycled materials. This company is all about being green and having only fresh food. The manager made it a point to tell me why the prices are higher at this restaurant than at other burger places in the area and that is because the product is never frozen. The get between 4 and 5 shipments a week and combine that with being in Alaska it is understandable why the prices are higher here. I will say they still have some kinks to work out relative to the hours online not matching the actual hours and the prices on the screen are different from the take home menus, but that is due to them only being open for 1 month. It is funny to read some of the reviews about how people can get the same thing at Burger King or McDonald's. That is so far from the truth as burgers from fast food places are full of who knows what...I am sure everything but actual beef. I had the 1/2 and 1/2 burger which came with a veggie patty and a beef patty. I also got the Parmesan fries (get a small if it is just you as the large is way too big for one person). When I saw the size of the burger I was a little skeptical as it appears small for the price, but when I finished the burger I was extremely full. It just goes to show that portion size is out of control here in America. We are so used to all you can eat places and having such huge portions. This burger was perfect with the side of fries and I left stuffed. The decor is great, the staff friendly. I know this place will get even better the longer it is open as it takes time to work out the flaws. I will say however, the soda is definitely not worth the $2.77 as it is a very small glass and unless you eat there and get refills, you will not get your money's worth. It makes you realize that you should be drinking water and not soda so just a thought. Overall, this is a great option. 2.75/5. I'd like to address some qualms about what appears to be an overpriced menu here: Firstly, we live in Alaska. Nearly everything costs an arm and a leg (I'm amazed I have any limbs at all) more than the lower 48. Secondly, we have to take into consideration the fact that Burgerfi claims to use fresh, premium Angus beef that hasn't been frozen. What does that mean? More money. If they're selling what they say they are, it makes sense to have those premium prices versus, say, grain fed Mcdonalds cattle that is devoid of nutrients, where one patty comes from 300 cows (I'm not making this up), is slapped together without much thought, frozen, and shipped to the many franchise locations all over the country, where by cutting corners, & owning a huge chunk of the fast food market, they can afford to give you the $1 price. Most fast food burger patties at are made of corn (because we have ass loads of it thanks to gov. subsidies to corn farmers & not other farmers) with a little bit of that 300 cow mashup. You're buying a corn patty w/a hint of actual beef. I have to admit, it kind of tastes good, but you and I both know that it's not legit food, Holmes. Meat is expensive, man. Cows take up a lot of space. Cows that eat well and have room to frolic or what have you, cost a lot of moolah (pun intended.) When has premium beef ever been cheap? You go to safeway and you see the crappy butcher's special for cheap as hell, and you see the "natural, vegetarian fed beef" (which is marketing bullshit for "it's still grain fed, but we've worded it differently to charge you more), but also the "Grass fed beef". That stuff is always more money because of what was invested into the final product . It tastes better. It's got Omega 3s n shit. But it ultimately costs more. Burgerfi sells Wagyu Kobe beef hot dogs (presuming it is true Kobe Beef.) That shit is expensive. Why is it expensive? Wagyu cattle are fed a diet of beer and sake, massaged daily, and live a low-stress life of contentment, which results in a marbled, melt-in-you-mouth product that makes it some of the most sought after, expensive beef in the entire world. "Fresh cut fries." "Fresh beef" = labor intensive, and the expense of flying fresh meat up here is seen in the final cost of the product. That's not to say that Burger isn't a franchise, which it is. You'd also think that maybe the prices would be a little less, what with the emphasis on the business maintaining a low carbon footprint, using recycled coca cola bottle chairs (as they state on the website). recycled tables, and less electricity, that it would cut down on costs to the customers. But think about how expensive transporting and storing fresh, premium meat, costs at the end. They've got to make a buck. That being said, the burger itself was so-so. It was juicy, and fresh tasting, and all the stuff you'd expect from what they claimed. The brioche type buns they use were nice and fluffy. The veg was crisp. the bacon in my burger wasn't dry nor sopping like a sad fish, the burger itself wasn't soaking in a pool of grease, the buns were holding their own. But the flavors weren't there. If you stripped the burger down to just the meat, you would think, "hey, this is good quality beef. It's juicy, & has the potential for depth of flavor." But the seasonings aren't there. I'm not talking just salt, but there's something that it's missing. Presentation was great, texture was good, the meat was just rich enough to balance everything around it, but the flavors were lackluster. Needs seasoning/depth of flavor. No umami. This was a good "homemade" burger. Ambiance and everything else...well, employees didn't seem to greet customers or anything. Cashier was decent, however. I actually like the fries much better here, texturally and flavor wise. Not the greatest thing in the world, but hold their own. Nice snap w/fluffy center. "The burgers are too small." Yes, they are smaller than what you see (they're the same size as In N Out burgers) with the astronomically sized portions we're used to at restaurants in America, which is ridiculous when you count how many calories are in one meal, versus portion sizes in other countries. I know the wait was long, but there are two patties. Sip that water and savor the meal. Ultimately, if you want to have a homemade burger using fresh beef without putting in the labor having to make it yourself (because a lot of us are lazy asses, myself included) and you want to leave without feeling like you just drink a gallon of grease, this would be the way to go. I'll have to go back and try the hot dogs. If Tommy's used this beef, if would be even better than it is now, which is hard to say, since Tommy's is pretty damn good. Is this place like In N Out? No. Aside from the unfrozen patties and fresh cut fries, the flavor is nowhere near In N Out. "But In N Out is cheap!" Yes, because everything they source is within close proximity. read more

I'm don't usually order a beef burger so I usually order the Veggie Fi burger. It's made with quinoa and other good-for-you stuff. So I did go back to BurgerFi. As a guest of a large group of people who really like it. They went because one of their party is vegan, and BurgerFi supplies a vegan meal in burger form. This young lady really liked it. Since I was there, I ordered some items I'd never tried before, the chicken sandwich and the fried onion rings. I've already written about my experience with the lettuce-as-bun burger, I went for the standard chicken sandwich which comes normally with lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard. It did come that way, but... I was not bowled over. The chicken was a slab of chicken. I don't know how they get it that way, but it looked like they were trying to simulate veal. I did not find it 'tasty'. There was honey mustard, not much there was lettuce, not crisp, but well coated with honey mustard. There was a slice of real tomato, neither factory tasteles nor rosy blushing mouth wateringly inviting. For over 8 bucks I was not impressed. The fried onion rings are awesome. They have some thick onion that looks like they skinned an elf, then they fry it up big. The potato fries were good. I still don't know why they have you pick up ketchup in little tiny paper skids you pump the ketchup into. I'd need about one doily of paper ketchup skid per fry, I was going to take my water cup over there and pump it full but my table mates thought it would be a bad 'xaple for the kids and promote double dipping. So I behaved myself. The young folks behind the counter were smart, good-looking, and prompt. We had a big order for people and kids, and they made sure they got it right and they provided all the food as requested all at the same time. Kudos to them. So I have to be up front. I'm not a fan of BurgerFi mainly for the food and ambiance. I was in a minority of the folks I was with, who young and old had a good time and ate it all up. Perfect joint for the services and food it offers. Perfect decor, honest to goodness Burgerfi Cheeseburger and a decently equipped bar with fun beers. This is the kind of "quick food places" that I am used to, and where I'm from, these are the norm.
