Maybe it's just me, but in my opinion, the cost does not match the taste. Kinda blah.

This is it. The caramelization on these waffles cannot be beat -- you can eat them without toppings, just eat them! Often! Amazing tour even without the free in person tastings…read more...... They've limited the number of tickets offered so there is heightened safety. Masks required. Given an audio guide, we entered room after room of narrative that expanded how only the best chocolate makes it to Belgium & how the chocolate makers then turn it into scrumptious Belgian chocolate The stage setup, the automation, the lights & the entire setup was incredible. Totally selfie-worthy & there were lots of opportunities to do just that And let's not overlook the chocolate sculptures and chance to see the atelier kitchen (all behind glass) where they make fun shapes like shoes or soccer balls And as a parting gift, we were provided with a goodie bag of all the flavors we would have been able to try while there, had we not been in a pandemic situation - so we still got to enjoy all the flavors from the different cacao beans.......this was definitely as good as it gets

I thought the chocolate sculptures would be grander honestly so I was mildly disappointed with the experience. At the end, you get to sample 8 different types of chocolates ranging from white, ruby, gold, and different cacao levels of milk to dark chocolate. The white and milks were rich and decadent but nothing to write home about. The gold chocolate is supposed to be a caramelized white chocolate, it was very sweet and indulgent. The ruby chocolate has a lot of pronounced fruity notes -- personally not a fan of fruit with my chocolate so this one was a pass for me, but the color was gorgeous! The dark chocolates were more on the acidic side. The gift shop has a lot of chocolate varieties to choose from -- bars (plain or with toppings), rubbber duck shapes, chocolate chips, a bar with the Antwerp skyline, and much more! I selected a few bars to bring home as souvenirs. They were relatively affordable, most bars max around 5 euros, though they are on the smaller side. But I have seen pricier bars at the supermarkets, so it's a fair price for freshly made chocolate!

The quality is truly the best in Antwerp and with such a wide variety of flavors, you can find something for everyone. The staff there is top notch, they are very knowledgeable about chocolate and are warm/ friendly. Top picks; Antwerp Diamond (white with champagne truffle filling), Rubens Pallet (milk with walnut filling), and TNT (dark with lemon/eucalyptus ganache and CO2 - yes, tastes like pop rocks, very unique!, red hearts (milk with fruit filling - these are both tasty and beautiful). Enjoy!

The shelves are half empty, and it seems like the same products are repeated to create the ilussion of having more products than the ones that really are. In particular, I was very excited to drink some Snapple Apple - a product that you can find in every single store, gas station, supermarket, even liquor store in the whole country - just to find out that Grare American Foodstore does not sell it. I will probably not come back. I expecting much more from this place.

I was so happy to see almost every favorite of mine!! From Beer to Lawrys Seasonings to A1 Steak sauce! They even have laundry cleaning supplies!! Every soda you can imagine! The store is pretty tiny , but they have it all there! I was grabbing things of the shelves , with happiness, totally forgetting that i'm not in America, until I went to pay! Get ready, the prices are high, but, I say, its worth it!! Example ; 4 cans of Coors Light would be about 4 US Dollars , here , its costs 8 Euros!! Ill still be back!! Great store!! Great customer service as well!!

Our most recent order was very custom - we specified which pralines we wanted in each box. We weren't sure of the names of the pralines, but they were incredibly helpful. We received our meticulously packed order and are preparing to send them to friends and family via Post. The size of the little box is perfect for slipping into a mailing envelope. It's a special treat for our U.S. friends and family to receive such a high quality product. Of course, we had to conduct our own taste test first. Delicious!
