I once went over Niagara Falls in a Burl. True story. The one located at the Crossgates Mall in Albany sent me here because they "should have what you're looking for" - they didn't, and they weren't friendly about it. This is an expensive coat store, seems to have experienced a price increase and some extra products, so it's up to you whether you like it or not - but I personally I am not a fan. They did have a decent selection though which is the reason for the extra star. read more

Cashier Brian- at 8:36 pm. 1440 central avenue Colonie Center Albany New York 12205. The second customers arrived to the counter he was cussing and huffing and puffing while rolling his eyes. The cashier Brian tried to rob me, he received $156 of the total of $154.50 and kept asking me for $20 extra even though he counted twice and then he lowered the amount again. When I got home he didn't even bother to remove the alarm from my jacket, surprised ? nope He probably thought we were stupid because we were in speaking another language with each other and he was aggressive and demanding more money when he was wrong the whole time . Screaming (yes screaming) " you only gave me $136 give me another give me other 20" until I helped my elder parents count it and we were right. Then he dropped my blankets on the floor on purpose and 3 employees passed them behind the counter and nobody had the correct employee behavior and ethics to pick it up or pretend to care about customers zero class or training. It's fine if they wanna act that way but why be so obvious ? If he doesn't know how to count it's a problem for your company as cashiers and if he was trying to scam us with $20-30 extra that's a legal issue, I'm a resident here I just happen to know more than 3 languages. Incompetent thieves of employees he really thought I was gonna be dumb enough like his strategy to give him more money without counting it again, he made me count it 3 times and then he kept saying then give me $10 more, ridiculous staff read more

This store is huge and has more than just fashion for women, men and children. I guess that's why they no longer call it Burlington Coat Factory. And it certainly is more than just coats. It sells many household items for every room of the house. In some ways it's similar to Marshalls or T.J.Maxx, but this Burlington store has more square footage than any of those two other stores in our area. I think it's even larger than the Burlington in Crossgates which I haven't been to recently. One thing they want to make sure you are aware of is that the shopping carts' wheels will lock up if you attempt to take them through the store's front doors. There is not only a poster at the front entrance, there is a sign in every single shopping cart. So make sure you can carry in your arms, out to your car, how ever much you buy. read more

Burlington - Checking out. - Department Stores Near Me - Latham, New York

This Burlington has a really extensive home selection. I came in looking for a denim jacket, which I didn't find, but ended up scoring some good deals on kitchen accessories from their clearance area. I didn't find the clothing selection to be great and noticed a lot of lower end brands here compared to some of the higher end brands I've been able to score at Burlingtons in New Hampshire. Also, I never experienced this in another store, but someone approached me while I was waiting in the checkout line and asked if he could total my items to "make it easier at the checkout". I thought it might be like at Nordstrom Rack where they can take your credit card on the floor, but sadly, no. Since I just had three items, I didn't think it was worth it, but this might be convenient if you have a lot of things. Overall, I was not super impressed, but I do recommend checking out their selection of home goods and kitchen accessories. read more

I miss the previous incarnation of this store, back when this was the Latham Circle Mall, occupying the 2-story corner space which years ago held The Boston Store. I thought that version had a fantastic inventory and I really enjoyed shopping there. Not so much this version. They continue to have a decent selection of coats (even if they did choose to remove the words "Coat Factory" from their name). Beyond that, the store is starting to look just like any other discount clothing store chain. I can also understand why reviewers don't like the checkout situation either. They have 8 registers: Registers 1 and 2 were useless, covered and blocked by merchandise. Registers 7 and 8 were closed. The other 4 registers were open and thankfully kept the wait down to about 3 minutes. But I'd probably need a lot more patience - and a stiff drink - to want to try checking out merchandise here over a weekend. read more

One star for location, and one star for finding good deals on clothing for kids who outgrow things in months. Aside from that, the service at this store is atrocious and my most recent experience makes it so that I don't want to shop here ever again. I was in with my sister and twin toddlers around 7pm on a Sunday evening. I was browsing through the shoe selection for my little ones, and of course, like toddlers, they were pulling the shoes off of the shelf. I was planning to pick up their mess when we were leaving the aisle, since there was really no point in doing so while I was still browsing. However, an associate who had been organizing the shoes prior to us entering the aisle came over and scolded my two year olds, and myself and let us know we have to pick up the shoes, which again was obvious. She indicated that if my kids threw the shoes off the shelf, and then fell and cracked their face open it "wouldn't be their problem". She even picked up a shoe and threw it back on the shelf and in an aggressive voice says "LOOK BABY", indicating that she needs to pick up after herself. When I was picking up the shoes, she proceeded to watch over me and say "thank you" again in a snotty, aggressive tone. I let her know that her attitude was unnecessary and I was planning to pick up the shoes as I left the aisle, I didn't need to be told by an employee to do so. She just ignored what I was saying. After we got what we needed, we went to the register to pay which took another 20 minutes, since there always seems to be several people in line with only 1 or 2 cashiers. I was planning to look for a manager to speak with about the associate, but determined it wasn't worth it being that my children were getting fussy at that point. I just have never felt so judged and treated so rudely while out shopping. Customer service is clearly non-existent in today's society. read more

I tried to buy a crib that was in clearance because it was the last one and it was special but they didn't want to sell it to me

This new store is huge! It was very clean and had a lot of items. HOWEVER, the customer service was absolutely horrible. My boyfriend and I went on Saturday April 23 at 9:10pm (they close at ten). Around 9:40, we got in line to check out. The line was very long, and to our surprise, there was only ONE cashier. The cashier at register 4, bless her heart, was very friendly to the customer (three sisters), as they engaged in conversation. I am not knocking her friendliness, but given that there was a very long line and she was the only cashier, the long and drawn out conversation was inappropriate. After exactly ten minutes of this cashier still engaging in conversation with the same 3 sisters, another customer complained and asked them to speed it up. There was a man who worked there, who didn't seem to be doing anything other than make announcements of the store closing. I am unsure as to why he did not help with the now even longer check out line. Once it turned 10pm, he finally opened up a cash register. He then finally called for another associate to come open a cash register. Don't even get me started on her. Lets just say she was EXTREMELY unfriendly (she was at register 3). The man and the rude associate at register 3 each got through 2 people while the cashier at register 4 was still on the same person! As if things weren't bad enough, the security alarm went off each time a customer paid and tried to leave the store. The cashiers had to ask those customers to come back, leaving the customers in line to wait even longer. It was just so poorly organized and so many people were unhappy. I really love this store, but I think I will stick with the location at Crossgates Mall. read more

I stopped by the new store looking for mens cologne and dress shoes. As I entered the place is big, bright and have plenty of dept signs. I asked a very nice woman ( I wish I asked her name) as I entered where mens dress shoes are and she was nice enough to take the time to walk over to the dept . I respect that alot coming from 26 yrs in retail myself. I found everything I was looking for and was cashed out very quickly. Great visit read more

Super.....super disappointed in this store. I never do layaway. Decided to try it this year. It took me over an hour to find a coat that I really liked and a purse. I also got a coat for my husband and then a bunch of various odds and ends. They couldn't find the 3 most expensive things I bought... 2 coats and the purse. I waited FOREVER at the counter....pushed off to the side...for them to try to locate my stuff. I had homework to do this night...I was supposed to go to my sister's real quick to pick something up. What an inconvenience this was. I waited so long and they had to give me back almost 200 bucks because they don't know how to store things properly. I wasn't even offered a gift card or a coupon or anything for being so inconvenienced. They don't even realize the time it takes people to find stuff they like....was a ridiculous experience with bad customer service in my opinion. It makes me want to stick to the other stores that I know have better service like tj maxx, hobby lobby, or kohls. I was beyond irritated with this experience. The lady that told me I was going to have to get a refund had a gift card in her hand and I literally thought they were going to give me something for my troubles....nope...they handed me the money and when the other lady handed it to me before I left, she didn't even say sorry.
