I contracted for a backyard cleanup for $600 and when the two men arrived I was questioned about the pricing which I got 1 week prior. They stood by the fence 15 minutes talking and then cut in a extremely large branch into 2 large pieces and said to me that the job was more than $600. They gave me a time that they would be there to clean out my garage....3 hours and 15 mins later they show up. Wasted most of my day waiting. No one called until late and right before they left another job. Job done was ok....left some big items (big wood ladder & plastic buckets) that didn't fit on the truck. The guys did work hard and were friendly, I give them that... and almost until nightfall. I'm just being honest here and not mean, but you have to respect were I', coming from. I still wasted practically the whole day waiting and time lost, for taking off from work. And I did call another company for backup if you guys didn't show. I think I would have been more pleased if you gave a discount, regarding your mix-up, and not just a couple of calls apologizing. Scheduled service 1 month in advance, confirmed appointment 1 week prior-was told by John the owner, we were all set for 9-10 window. Never showed up, and when I called several times that morning (8/18)-no answer. Left messages, texts -never ever received call back. I had to move out the next day-so had to scramble to find a different service (1800 got junk)-which saved the day for me. This company is fantastic. The job we had for them was hard, dirty, and Big!!! The whole crew worked cheerfully in rain, snow and mud to remove an old swimming pool filled with dirty water, clean out a very filled old barn and clean out a michigan basement in an 1840s farmhouse. I've worked with Burly Guys before to move to my previous apartment and had a positive experience, which is why I contracted with them again for my most recent move, but based on my last experience I will never use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. The scheduled time was between 9 and 10am, and I got a text at 9:20 saying one of the crew members called in sick. In the context of the conversation, it was brought to light that the notes only reflected 'moving things in my basement,' when I specifically told them I was moving to a new apartment (and gave the new address) and told them the contents of my apartment and what needed to be moved. At one point John told me I should seek other arrangements because he was having trouble locating someone, but my entire family was out of town, other moving companies were booked up and I needed to be out of my place that day. To be able to still get out of my apartment, I offered to help and find friends to supplement his crew. Long story short, they showed up 2 hours late without a proper truck so 2 trips with the trailer were needed, without tools needed to disassemble and reassemble my furniture items (even though I specifically mentioned that in my booking phone call and John said that was no problem, thank goodness I had some tools, though the crew member disassembling my bed lost some hardware in the process and my friend had to go out and buy more to safely re-attach my headboard), me and my friends had to do essentially all of the lifting/moving because his crew member "couldn't do stairs," and the crew member was not handling my items with care (expensive kitchen equipment, furniture items, boxes were just slammed down or not safely staged for me and my friends to carry them up the stairs). Dirt was also tracked throughout my old apartment, so now I have to pay to have the carpets cleaned there - no plastic or any other flooring shield was brought. I hired movers for the convenience and safe handling of my items that I expect, in their defense I did receive last time, but this experience was beyond inconvenient and unprofessional, and the situation was handled very poorly. I was patient and understanding in the beginning, but by the end I had enough. If you're moving, get a more professional and capable company that won't let you down. read more

He said it would be $200-300, then they picked up garbage and he changed his number to $425 when it came time to make payment. When I had reminded him of what we had discussed about $200-300 he said that he should of had his guy call me before picking it up...Ok.
