This park is no frills and more for setting up, then going adventuring elsewhere. Don't expect to…read morespend too much time hanging around to enjoy a break in nature, this park is not designed for that: 1. Temporary rentals are the first three rows, each ascending a hill. The next three rows are almost completely occupied by long term residents - this means their daily comings and goings are diverted straight through the temporary camping areas. Be prepared for huge diesel trucks reving their engines during silent hours. 2. Even three rows up, the road noise from 101 is pretty intense. 3. Bathrooms: the men's room has two showers, two toilets, and one urinal. For a camp this size expect lines in the morning/evening when the park is full. The full time residents also use these facilities. 4. While the bathrooms are clean, they are in pretty bad shape. Only one of the doors (a bathroom stall) had a functioning lock - otherwise all the other doorknobs were broken. The shower doors have holes kicked into them and the shower basins are cracked. There are no lights inside the stalls only one of the showers, so it's pretty dark. 5. There seemed like no staff oversight to enforce quiet hours. My neighbor (a non-RV mobile home) would blast music or TV at all hours and spent the entire time we were here toking it up with the skunkiest weed I've ever smelled. Interspersed with end to end cigarettes, it was pretty unpleasant. 6. Aside from the bathroom, a laundry room, there are no amenities. No sink for dishes or a rec room. I was not able to find a communal potable water station either, despite map in hand. My site had a spigot about six inches above the ground - not enough clearance to refill a gallon bottle. Luckily there was a nearby slip whose spigot was high enough off the ground. 7. While there is a well stocked camp store, the prices are pretty outrageous. If you can, save yourself the 50% markup and get the same goods at the Walmart in Port Angeles. $17 for two bags of ice was insane.

Took a lil roadtrip from Seattle to check out the Olympic Peninsula. This would be our first time…read moreseeing the Tree of Life, and Google Maps had us taking some small roads through tons of forest and a few tiny towns. Usually after a few hours of driving, someone is going to need to take restroom break, right? Well, little did we know, after getting off the main highway, that didn't seem to be possible. "Public restrooms" were closed. There was one small gas station with a huge truck and port-a-potty that my husband used but confirmed would not be hygienic enough for me. You don't know how long we suffered, contemplating pulling over and running through the trees to take of care of business. Although it took us forever to find, Queets Trading Post was the only place with an actual restroom on Google Maps that we could find. As we arrived, the worker greeted us. The store was clean, stocked, had breakfast items- but most importantly, there it was, shining in all its glory: the word "Restrooms"!!! It was clean, it had a message on the wall stating something like, "We keep our restrooms public as a service, so please treat the restroom with respect and keep it clean," and oh did I do just that! I respected that restroom more than any I had in years. Ok well it felt like years. After the beautiful relief, we filled up on gas and went on our merry way. Thank you, Queets Trading Post. You helped us out more than you'll ever know.
