WHO PUTS CABBAGE IN A BURRITO!? This is a crime. I was hiking in the shasta area and needed to find some food before heading back to the hotel. A thai restaurant was my first choice, but no one was in the restaurant so I walked out. I came up on this place. Good star ratings, 6 locations, what could possibly go wrong. Everything apparently. This business has a total disregard for the Covid virus. Although the employees are wearing masks you will find yourself in a line of mask-less customers. I've been a fan of BB for almost 10 years but I always went to the Airport Rd location. I only discovered today, there's a location in Red Bluff. And it's been there for over a year! You gotta give them a try and YES, have them put cabbage in it. Trust me. You gotta try it once if you never have before. They make burritos or burrito bowls. Fresh ingredients. Was hungry while driving through the area, so I decided to stop here for a burrito. Overall, the burrito I had (carne asada) was "meh" at best. The meat could have been juicier; salsa and spices were lacking; the cheese was cheap; and the lettuce was cabbage ? Would have been improved if they improve some of the ingredients and provide more salsa. Found this place via Yelp on our road trip and were very pleased! Right off the freeway, delicious food, good service, and the cutest atmosphere with the murals. Homey, bright, spacious. This restaurant is a must! The food is fresh, tasty and a lot of it. My husband is a trucker and his route is on the I-5 and he stops everyday for the burrito bowl. You can phone ahead and they will have it waiting for you. Easy access off of the freeway and a place to park your 18 wheeler nearby. Great spot right off the freeway for a quick bite while driving I-5. Ingredients are really fresh and delicious. We got the Machaca (shredded beef) burrito which was gigantic and perfect for sharing. They have whole black beans or refried, fresh avocado, diced jalapeños, shredded cabbage to name a few of your choice of ingredients. What I really appreciated was the care put Into the construction of this enormous work of art. All the staff were very attentive and friendly, which was a plus. My go-to is the pollo burrito with refried beans, rice, mild salsa, sour cream, cheese, cabbage, lime, and avocado. The avocado doesn't cost extra, you just get it because you're worth it. Burrito Bandito has excellent topping distribution and not once has my sour cream been globbed at one end. I've never been able to finish my burrito because it's so big (that's what she said) and that's fine with me because it makes a great lunch at work the next day. I really love this place. The employees are friendly, the food is quick and delicious. I've been eating here regularly for some time! Consistently, this has been my experience. I'm a big fan of the burrito with chicken and steak. It's like a flavor explosion of delightful mixtures. Their hot sauce is phenomenal. The collection of hot sauces they have is nothing to scoff at! The one thing that is a little rough is the prices. They tend to run a little high. This isn't gonna be a cheap fast food meal. But it will be a good, fast meal. I asked for salsa verde and was directed to the salsa bar...which consists of a total of three salsas. None of which has any flavor whatsoever. The salsa verde was loaded with onions! Being brave, I did try it out - grody, and...sour. Odd. Salsa labeled HOT was bitter. No spice, no bite, nada. Very disappointing. Made to order like Chipotle, with the blandest tastes known to man, Burrito Bandito managed to rob itself of all the richness and flavor that Mexican people and their foods offer cultural society. Burrito Bandito is a decent place to eat if you want a big burrito. They fill the burrito with rice and beans and meat like carne asada. They will load it up pretty good. It's definitely a meal. For those of you who like taco trucks, this place is like the clean Americanized version of that. The atmosphere is real cool. They have almost any type of hot sauce available to use free of charge. The paintings are done by a guy named Crank and they are real cool. In Red Bluff this is the only kind of place like it. If you go to Chico, try Tacos De Acapulco or Aca Taco. I like going to new places and was excited to try this place out. I brought a friend for lunch. The service was very fast. In fact, in three minutes, I had paid for our food and was sitting at a table. The decorations were a bit unnerving and had me feeling like I was at a chucky cheese. Not my style, but its the food that matters most! I had a beef burrito and she had a chicken burrito. We both ate some before trading with each other and we both were quite disappointed. The meat was tasteless. The flour tortillas got wet from the watery salsa and started to get goey. The hot salsa wasnt even remotely hot and the lunch was expensive, especially for bland lunch that neither of us wanted to finish. I brought the leftovers home to my dog and even he wouldnt eat it without alot of coaxing which is crazy considering the fact that he eats cow poop. I wouldnt go again as life is too short to eat bad food. Some of the best burritos that I have had were gotten off the local lunch trucks. The problem with those is its a hit and miss kind of thing.
