I have eaten here and the food was ok, nothing to write home about, but going here for a few drinks with friends, admiring the view is worth a lot. The staff is friendly and the interior is very Swedish summerhousy (yes, I made that word up) with white furniture, table cloths and a lot of bright colours. The beer and wine selection is limited, it's quite a small "bar" but they do have an IPA and a pilsner from Gotland on tap and some more bottled drinks. Last time we were here it was late at night plus there was a super moon out and we sat on the dock just centimeters above the water, nothing can beat that feeling. So if you're in Halmstad during summer, this is the place to go!

Having heard they were under new ownership, or at least new direction and theme again, I hoped that it wouldn't be all that bad. The focus now is that you choose your vegetables from a buffé of cold veggies, uncooked meat and fish / seafood. You put this on your plate, add some flavour to it by pouring different marinades and / or spices on top of it. After you have composed your dish of uncooked ingredients you hand it over to the chef who then cooks it right in front of you. It is quite impressive to watch, they separate and cook the different ingredients in the order they should be cooked (sea food last). After they are done they hand over the plate and you can get seated. Being a sea food buff I can just say WOW! It fits my taste buds just right, getting to select exactly what you want to eat, plenty of sea food, fresh ingredients, freshly cooked and full of taste. I probably ate more than I should, but, it was worth it. Vegetarian or non-meat eater? You can easily compose a dish according to your preference, recommended!

The skagen toast was the best of the 6 dishes and a dish my wife and i would recommend. The potato gratain was way too salty (and I'm a person who over consume salt normally...). The accompanying pork tenderloin was alright. For me the size of the portion and the lack of salad made this a quite hefty meal where half of it would serve it's purpose. The cod and mashed potato was, unfortunately, also not a success. The fish was prepared beautifully but the lack of seasoning made the whole dish taste nothing but butter. if there was anything there was plenty of then it would have been the butter. The milk chocolate pannacotta was nice. It tasted as expected.The "Bavaroise" was appreciated by my wife but for me it was nothing i would like to remember. All in all, we had the food as take away and this has been considered in the 3 stars. if the tasting experience would have been identical in the restaurant, two stars would have been a fact.

They do have some interesting beer / spirits tastings now and again which you should try and fit in your schedule if you are in the area, which I think takes place on saturday afternoons. Enough about the beer. Even though their menu sometimes can feel a bit static it does change from time to time and the food they have on offer is usually of high quality. My recommendation is to try the mussels or any of the risottos since they have been the dishes that seem to be quite consistent in quality. Even though I really appreciate the fact that they offer a vegetarian alternative, since I don't eat meat, the quorn filets are usually quite dry. Go with a salad or another veggie option instead. Sometimes live bands (more in the line of a lone singer songwriter covering famous tunes) play but it is not something to write home about. They have screens were they sometimes show football and on certain days they do music quizzes.

This is a pub with a dark and atmospheric interior and it has two floors. It is too bad the beer selection is quite limited when it comes to draught. During summer they open up so you can sit outside. Good stuff, but during the hectic summer months it is also very hard to get the attention from the staff and they dont seem that service minded. If it was just for the shrimp sandwhich (salad?) I would probably give Bulls a 5-star rating!
