I'll start by saying that I want to give an honest review but I also don't want to poo-poo on…read moresomeones way of making a living....so I'll choose my words carefully First time client. Really nice, clean and open space. Picked the stylist based on google reviews which didn't turn out as well as I hoped for. Was looking for a fade with it short enough up top so I could still have a nice part to the side, which in some ways I got.....it just wasn't what I've been accustomed to in the past. My stylist was polite and on time but from the start I got the sense that he wasn't as seasoned as other stylist I've been to over the years. He didn't seem 100% sure of himself and his cutting abilities like others who have done this for years. Anyway, it was not up to my standards when it comes to the fade, the cut and the styling towards the end but at that point what's done is done, the hair is already cut and on the floor....so a polite thank you was how I decided to leave it. I can try to fix it up at home I guess lol. With some more experience and perhaps extra practice/training, I think he'll gain more confidence and grow into a well rounded and seasoned Hair stylist. Until then, I'll be looking to someone else to cut my hair.

Starks has re-invented itself from a small town barber catering to men to a chain company who…read morefranchises their model to others wanting to get in on the action. The new look is a much cleaner, fresher look, kind of like the inside of an IKEA but a little nicer. The Starks in Stouffville has big glass doors, and the sign way up high, with the iconic scissors for the "A" in "Starks". There's parking right in front of Starks. I was lucky enough to get a spot right up front, considering it's on Main St. They could have a location to park right for their clients, that would be a nice addition. The new look is apparently being renovated with all Starks locations and quite a few things have changed. They still have everything they offered before (from what I know) but now memberships can go upwards of $1,200/year. I think Starks has kind of went away from their hometown barber feel, to more of a type of money-grab. They're trying to take as much away, which you can't blame a business for - but honestly they still haven't really responded to my concerns from last time (wasn't this location, but still the Starks name). Unfortunately, the hot towels weren't hot but still the haircut was nice. When Starks was more of a smaller name, I feel like they cared for their clients more though. Overall, 2.5/5
