The staff seemed really friendly, as there is no lift they seemed rather happy to help me find a specific product although as the sale is nearing the end right now, I was told the store is running low on products and that appears to be the case. One of my favourite stores in Chester and a nice brand to have in the Grosvenor, it is a shame they haven't replaced the sale items yet so the stock in-store isn't great and the fact they lack a lift (Could be down to being a listed building?) 3*

These items can be expensive though so be prepared to flash the cash if something catches your eye before its price tag does. The staff are friendly and helpful enough but the atmosphere can be quite uncomfortable at times as they are often standing around with little to do other than watch as you shop and try to hide your shock when you see their prices.

A couple of negatives as well. Firstly the building is basically a barn and really needs redecorating inside. It looks shabby which creates a poor impression overall. Secondly the reductions aren't as generous as you would expect in an outlet shop. For example the last time I visited I found some Ben Sherman T-shirts which had been reduced from £29.99 to £24.99, a saving of only £5. Overall it's OK for the older shopper but not great.

Since then it's had a makeover and having visited for the first time in years I can now report it's a very clean and modern looking buildings selling clothes for the over sixties. Actually there were one or two small sections of clothing for younger people, brands like Brave Soul and Lambretta, but only very limited ranges. And there didn't appear to anything for kids at all which disappointed my eight year old daughter.

Plenty of dark denim, straight legged jeans fill the shelves - no room for skinny, girly jeans here - and printed t shirts with very modern fonts, patterns and neon colours. In this sense it is typical of most Liverpool men's shops but without the ridiculous prices or straying into quite garish garments. You still won't find much here for the student price range and scenesters won't find anything ultra trendy or retro. It is the type of place that your local lads will pick up a new top or pair trabs for their night out and in knowing what its customers want, Dapper does a good job.

I have never been a massive fan of this company but as with many places in the centre of Liverpool the way this place is run has really done a huge amount to alter my negative opinion. The store is in the place of the old Top Man establishment and has done a good job of filling those particular boots. On a job hunt one day I handed in a CV here and although there were no vacancies a helpful member of staff spent time chatting to me and explaining that if anything did arise all applications were treated equally and mine would be safely stored away. This level of service impressed me no end and really made me alter my opinion of the company as a whole I have since returned here on numerous occasions and have always been treated with this same level of respect so well done to Burton's.

There is a casual section to the right of the shop that also sells underwear,socks and other gadgets and for formal section is to the left..The suits her range from the fairly cheap around 60.00 to the rather expensive. And they also have staff who are in the area to do you measurement's so you can get the right suit for you. The shop is fairly modern decorated and the staff are always willing to help with whatever you need. I would stay the prices are fairly average and on par with Topman and river island etc.

It is quite pricey for Waterloo, average £60 for top, but it does have regular sales. South Road is very busy in terms of car parking, there is a car park behind the station which is free and that's probably your best bet. There is on street parking right outside the shop but its usually occupied.

While the store wasn't as modern and didn't follow the regular traditional Tessuti layout, it still was a rather nice store and it did have a decent selection, yet sadly it again didn't compare to my local store in Manchester which is actually a slightly smaller store, yet seems to have a larger selection of goods in terms of selection, as many items I saw seemed to be repeated which I guess just means they have a better selection of sizes, which honestly is pretty good too but it's about finding that balance. The staff member working, a woman who I presume was in a managerial or supervisory position was really friendly and offered to go around the store on the higher floors so I wouldn't have to use the steps, for the brands I was looking for, and she also recommended other places within the city centre where I could go, which I felt was rather thoughtful. I did like this Tessuti store too, it was unique within the brand and the staff were probably the best I've seen in a Tessuti store and perhaps even up there as the best I've found in any store owned by JD Sports. 4*

This store has been there since Cheshire Oaks opened I think. It seems to sell more men's clothing…read morethan women's. Now and again you can get some real buys here. There are always plenty of jeans in different sizes but some of the tops and shoes are really odd! Staff are really helpful and the décor is as you would expect from Levis grungy, earthy and cool. This could be the place to go for checked shirts at the moment! Prices are cheaper than high street Levi's (which is well beyond my reach!) but still not as cheap as some others on Cheshire Oaks. Depends if you want the red tab or not.
