Probably the only thing that stood out for me with regards to this pub was the size of the beer garden, and also that it wasn't as loud as some of the local pubs. Yeah, I can't say that isn't place was one of my favourites, but I don't really want to knock it either because the staff were nice enough. Well, there wasn't much of a selection in the way of beer, but I've come to expect that from suburban pubs. Still, it was okay, but nothing spectacular. read more

The Burvale has been a local icon for many years. It is generally a fairly quiet place to have a drink with friends after work, but is also host to a very wide variety of bands, comic performances and even the occasional circus. Except for Wednesday night, which is usually Karaoke night. There are also a few pool tables, and unlike many other pubs, you generally don't have to wait long to get a game. The menu is fairly typical for a Melbourne pub. I have eaten there countless times over the last fifteen years, and every time I have been pleased. Of particular note is the porterhouse steak, which is my personal favourite. Main meals generally range in price from around $18 up to $30, but the servings are generous. There is accommodation if you're looking for a place to stay. For the price (from $95 for twin share), they're a good deal. Especially if you're planning a big night. read more
I walked in and the place smelled like stale beer. I went to the toilet and it smelled like straight piss. I was not impressed until i went to the bar. Super nice bartenders and $5 beer. They have video poker and horseracing also. This is a low key place and i will definitely revisit. read more

My son and I visited this hotel for a meal, we both ordered chicken parma, they were red hot and delicious, it was a great meal, however when we went to the pokie area, we had to get cash out, you have to go the cashier, then walk approx. 25 metres to an ATM to get your money out, what an absolute ridiculous idea, why don't they have an ATM machine right next to the cashier (such as the Ringwood RSL) has, my son and I walked out in disgust read more

Been here a few times. It's fairly low key, but the food is alright and it's not too expensive. I usually go here to put on my bets for the Melbourne Cup, and since I've been doing it, I've won more often than not, so I'm going to keep going til I stop winning! Not that I've got a gambling addiction or anything! Sometimes I like to go here to play pool against my husband. He's pretty bad at it, which works out well because the loser buys the drinks. The meals are reasonably priced and the serving sizes are generous. It's pretty typical suburban pub food. They do a good parma, which is high on my list of priorities. read more

My wife and I dine at the Burvale at least 3 times a week because we can eat there cheaper than cooking at home. Mon to Wednesday 2 course seniors meal for $10.00. How good is that? Meals are generous and quality is excellent, never had a meal I was disappointed with. The staff are fantastic, friendly and nothing a problem. In Glen Waverley we are surrounded by cafes and restaurants by the score but for easy parking, great service and good food we just keep coming back to the Burvale. Give it a try, I am sure you won't be disappointed and to all the staff, including those in the kitchen keep up the good work we love you all. read more

Love this place! Me & my family dine here a few times a month. The food here is amazing and the price is even better. The staff are lovely and will always help you. There are so many good things to heal. All in all this is a really, really nice restaurant if you're looking for something family friendly. read more

Steaks fine, accommodation standard as expected, but really, $9.30 bottled stellar?? That is simply outrageous.

Pleased to report meal in bistro last night was quite good with the exception of poor salad accompaniment which was 90% badly presented greens. In contrast to seniors meals we have had in the past on weekdays which were not good. It is a misconception that seniors are happy with sub-standard food. They are discerning. read more

Disgraceful service. My mother went there tonight and she ordered food with the rest of her table (6 other people). Meals for all the other people at the table came out, but hers didn't. She went up to the servers and asked about her meal, and checked the docket. It was listed there, and they told her it had come out. Clearly, it hadn't, considering she was there, asking about it. The manager was called over, and here is where they went from a small mistake to an absolute shambles. She just asked to have her meal brought out, but they insisted she pay for another meal. So, to sum up, she ordered a meal, didn't get a meal, went to ask about a meal, was accused of lying about not getting her meal, and then asked to buy another meal??? No thanks. Wish there could be a rating about how good the food was, but considering she didn't get to eat anything, that shouldn't be surprising. Wish I could give it a zero out of 5 stars. read more
