This place is an absolute perfect example of rural Vermont and the people you will meet. The food is stellar, the people are super friendly, and the prices are affordable. The pancake my son ordered was larger than a large dinner plate. The diner itself only has 2 tables and diner bar seating inside, so if you are here in winter you may have to wait foe a table. In summer they have outdoor seating. Great option if you want some simple and delicious diner food in the Northeast Kingdom

My friend, who lives in Barton, took me here for the first place to eat. Good food, friendly people, and the best hand cut fries.

Very cozy, excellent fresh food prepared right in front of you. Nice staff. Well worth coming a couple of miles off the highway.

Had a really lovely breakfast there recently. Nothing fancy but perfectly cooked and great service. That's all you can ask for.

I had the Stinger burger which was almost impossible to fit my mouth around.

I wanted to try the Lincoln Diner for breakfast today, but upon seeing the tremendous lineup and…read morewait for a table, Boyfriend was like, nope. So off to the Littleton Diner we went instead! (Our local pal Gregory confirmed that brand-new Lincoln Diner is *very good* and extremely popular, so hopefully I get to try it eventually!) Things turned out for the best however - no wait here, our favorite booth available and I got some blueberry coffee and a delicious 5-cheese omelette - I think it was my first time trying an omelette here, and it was *great*! Super loaded with cheese and the eggs were perfectly fluffy. Prices have gone up soooo much since I started coming here two decades ago... but still worth every penny!

How can you expect people from out of town to just know your menu when placing a to go order? If certain things don't come in dishes anymore maybe update the menu posted on your website, don't expect customers to just know your menu and be respectful when you talk to them. You don't make the feel smaller then you and an inconvenience! Bad attitude doesn't want people to ever come back. Finally got all our food and in the omelette I ordered no olives in were definitely a load of black olives. Turkey was bland, dry, pretty sure was sitting in a hot pan for days just drying out. The turkey, stuffing, mashed, gravy all tasted the exact same BLAND AND NO FLAVOR. Even if the food was food I'd never come back because of the rude staff. Don't work in customers if you hate talking to them!!!

Ambience: It's a genuine 1950s Worcester Lunch Car--complete with Formica counters, vinyl booths, and tile floors that feel like they haven't changed since before your grandparents were born. Charming if you like that "museum exhibit" vibe--but cozy it isn't. Seating is tight, and the wait can feel longer than vintage itself. Food: Yes, it's scratch-made breakfast and lunch--maple syrup is local, English muffins made in-house, eggs fresh from Vermont farms. Great effort. But then you find out the famous hot turkey sandwich and VT burger that earned Roadfood praise under the old owner are no longer on the menu. The new proprietors swapped nostalgia for a rewritten menu--and higher prices. Some folks rave about the blueberry jam and standout flavors, but others griped that biscuits and gravy were "downright gross." Contrasting reviews and extra-charge condiment notes further muddle expectations. Service: Staff tend to move with diner efficiency--fast, polite, and no fuss. That said, reviews note some inconsistency: stellar one day, meh the next. They're friendly, but don't expect a guided gastronomic tour--just order, eat, move on. Value: With plates clocking in near $19 for diner fare like chicken-fried steak and breakfast burrito bowls, this isn't exactly your classic greasy spoon find. Everything tastes well-executed, but you're paying for that curated "local ingredients" label--not bargain basement. Bottom line: If you're nostalgic for a parlor that looks like a train car and serve-your-mother's-recipe breakfast served up with giddy pride, Parkway Diner might still charm. Just be ready to pay for ingredient provenance and ditch your hopes for old favorites like the hot turkey sandwich or VT burger. Solid for breakfast or lunch, but don't expect miracles--even if they serve bottomless coffee.
