Grew up in the Midwest eating KC, Oklahoma and Texas BBQ so I have high expectations for BBQ brisket. This brisket surpassed my expectations. It's the best brisket I've found east of the Mississippi River. All the meats had a good amount of smoke. Ribs were tender. Sausage had just the right amount of heat. Super friendly bbq spot, all meats are gluten free according to the cashier. I ordered ribs and unfortunately the wings were sold out. Ribs were not very warm but they were still tasty, I wasn't a big fan of the sauces a bit sweet I prefer spicy. The pulled pork and the half chicken were absolutely perfect!! I am so picky about my pulled pork and this was so fantastic that I ate every bite (that never happens)!! They offered me the rib bits at no cost. I insisted on paying and they threw in an extra piece of chicken. The pulled pork and meat selections were great! I recently had lunch with my wife at But her Paper BBQ. I had the brisket plate and I must say it was absolutely the worst brisket I have ever had in my life. First of all there was absolutely no smoke ring on any of the slices of brisket on my plate. Secondly, the meat was sliced so thinly and was so tough that it was like eating the sole of an old shoe. This review may sound harsh , but at $22 for this lunch plate the meat should at least be edible. We ate here a lot in the first few years this place was open. I ordered a BBQ pork sandwich with collard greens, coleslaw plus tea. My hubs ordered a chopped chicken sandwich, coleslaw and baked beans. The pork was great! The collards were fantastic! The beans were a little bit sweet and looked like pinto beans but very tasty. The only disappointing item was the coleslaw and it looked so good, but oh so bland. It's totally legit in all the possibly wonderful ways. I had the pulled-pork plate with coleslaw and Brunswick stew as the sides. The pulled pork was unreal! It was juicy as could be and the flavor was just wonderful. The coleslaw was a great compliment to go along with the pulled pork. The Brunswick stew was good but maybe next time I'll try the green beans. I had the white Alabama sauce to hit with the pulled pork and I could have eaten that by itself. My wife got a chicken sandwich with green beans and banana pudding as sides. The sandwich was plentiful and "yummy". The green beans were "the best green beans I've ever had". Don't try to order ahead it's faster just to go there and order In person. Because you're on hold for a very long time. I always like to try local offerings when I'm visiting a town . My dog has an appointment at the University of Alabama at Auburn in their vet medicine department. I saw that this place had 4 1/2 stars and wanted to try it out. The taste was great! But the meat I think was overcooked because it was very dry. I did pour the barbecue sauce over it and reheat it when I got home NOS much better. My recommendation to them is to pour more barbecue sauce after it comes off the grill it may tend to put moisture back in the meat. I do you like their barbecue taste and the smoke taste is perfect! I got the smoked sausage plate with collards and Brunswick stew. The sausage is juicy and flavorful. It's easy to cut through and stands well on its own. The collards were well-flavored, nothing super unique but still quite good. The Brunswick stew had a lot more corn than I'm used to, but it was moderately spicy and filling. My wife got the brisket sandwich with mac & cheese. The brisket was UH-mazing with the sweet BBQ sauce. Definitely would go back for that. It wasn't "fall apart" soft, but it was also not dry and chewy. The smoke on the meat was top-notch. The mac & cheese was creamy and delicious. And, if you feel like indulging, definitely get the peanut butter pie. It was frozen when we got it, but that didn't stop us from devouring it.
