I have walked by this place many times and it always seems busy, specially on a Sunday morning. I suppose many bakeries are busy on Sunday mornings, as the locals prepare for the elaborate Sunday brunches and, bread is a central part of this meal ;-)) They have a lot of different breads here including local favourites like brezn, semmel and loaves. They also have pastries, croissant and other French bread varieties. They have a cute little seating area to the side and some seats outside. They have a good variety of cakes and they looked good. I cannot comment on taste and if I look back at past experiences, cakes in Germany often look better than they taste ;-)) I had their standard issue machine cappuccino and it was quite ok. The brezn was also lovely and crusty outside and moist inside. I felt the prices here were a bit higher than many of the bakeries in the area but the quality is high. I would happily pay more for good quality bread. They have a bunch of other deli items including coffee, chocolate and drinks for sale. Will come back again and have a closer look when it's not so busy. I would happily come back here again. It's not close to where we live but if you are in the English garden this is very close indeed.

If I had to make a tour book for Munich, this little and quaint café would make the list. It's located conveniently off the Munchener Freiheit UBahn adjacent to the English Garden so every time I head that way, I'm always tempted to stop for a cappuccino and cake. You could easily pass it by amidst the other charming storefronts in the area if you're not looking for it. Step inside and you'll see a case of fine pastries, cakes, cupcakes, pretzels and breads. Just behind that, if you're not sidetracked by all the delicious fine chocolates and seasonal treats surrounding, there's a fridge with cold beverages including milk and a shelf with loaves of bread. On a Sunday when all the markets are closed, this place my secret spot for milk, bread and eggs. Next time after a walk at the English Garden, stop by this perfect sidewalk cafe for a slow read through their complimentary magazines accompanied by a perfect almond cream cake and cappuccino.

We got the breakfast for two which was more than enough food, could have honestly served 3 people. Service was relatively quick and the waiters were very nice. I recommend reserving a table as it was full when we got there and we wouldn't have been able to get a table if we hadn't reserved ahead of time. Overall great authentic German meat & cheese breakfast and I would definitely go again.

Case in point, their burgers are named after two of the most esteemed Olympians, Wim Ruska and Mark Spitz, and their logo is of the Olympiapark. Enough dry facts...onto the review. We came for brunch on a Sunday afternoon as a group of 7 and managed to get a table outside quite easily. Service was decent and quick, and ordering was easy (for breakfast items, one can fill out a menu sheet). We tried all three of their burgers: Shanes Love (vegan burger), Giant Wim Ruska (cheese burger), and Mark Spitz Wonder (bacon/mushroom cheese burger). The portions were big, and the burgers were tasty. The potato wedges were also a highlight for me; nicely seasoned and not over-fried. My friends ordered the "Veganer Trio" with couscous, avocado salad with soy yogurt dip, etc., and they love the dish, well-seasoned and also a decent portion. We saw the kitchen as it was near the bathroom and have to say it didn't look hygienic. Hopefully, it's just the looks.
