However, the museum is quite small and you'll likely be in and out of there in 15-30 minutes so I'm not sure if it'll be worth the admission unless you're into East Asian art (like myself) or you have a Swiss Travel Pass active for the day (which will grant you FREE access.)

What a spectacular little museum! Such a gorgeous collection. Everything is lit beautifully and makes the pieces really shine, then as you walk from the first small room down a short but steep set of stairs, well I was completely floored. You enter an exquisitely decorated chapel! Three lovely stained glass windows, painted walls depicting saints, arches with painted scrolling leaves. Just fantastic. And the room was filled some some of the best Tibetan pieces I've ever seen. The whole place felt like a wonderful shrine, the two religions not competing at all but actually along with the soft chanting music felt very holy and special. A glass spiral staircase leads up to an over hang level with some more exhibits where you become level with the stained glass across the room. You are offered a talking guide as it's nearly all in french which we had declined and actually I'm glad we did, because although we weren't sure as to what some of the pieces were it definitely would if detracted from the specialness. The shop is small but offers some amazing books which can only be found there because of the nature of the foundation. So glad we went.

The staff were all very friendly and patient with the non-french speakers in the group. A lovely Hotel, very big and fairly easy to get lost in. The food/buffets were of an exceptional standard. The rooms were very cosy and naturally had amazing views of the ski slopes. They had animal head as lights stands and very brightly painted rooms. This hotel has a lovely gym, sauna and spa area. There is also a pool which goes into the outdoors, which brings some nice scenery whilst swimming. There are other activities to do if you are not a keen skiier, for example shopping, gym, spa's, go to cafe's. The bar area was also very lively and a great place to unwind after a hard day out on the slopes. Also a fantastic chance to meet fellow skiiers. I am not a natural skiier and I found this very accommodating and situated on the main transport links into Chamonix town. The hotel was a bus ride away from Geneve Airport. There may be nearer routes but this was the one we chose.

Creating food on a mass scale is very difficulty, the workers are awesome in the dining room, and work hard but the amount of food they have to put out is too much volume to be at any kind of quality. The worst is the ski instructors. We were misinformed. Don't believe that you will get a "Ski tour Guide" Rather you get a mothergoose style ski instructor who screams at you if you do not do exactly what he/she expects. The rudeness and non communicative style is terrible. I am American, do not speak french, and therefore was not able to ski alone in fear of getting lost without local language skills. I did not want to get myself in a situation where I couldn't find my way back, or take the wrong lift. I am a low end intermediate skier who enjoys Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire and the American West, so have a lot of experience. However, because I am not a black Diamond skier they put me in the "baby class" It was so incredibly boring. It was also dangerous. Because they want to teach "mother-goose style" we were constantly at risk of being skied into. AND that's exactly what happened-- repeatedly! I finally said, I am not going to stand in the middle of the mountain waiting for your permission to move, I will see you at the bottom (which wasn't far at all). I got screamed at! Madame, stay where I tell you to stay!. My friend broke her ACL because someone skied into her. So much for their instruction! Old school instruction, ridiculous experience. Spent a lot of money to get there, flew from NY to Geneva and didn't enjoy myself. Couldn't wait to get back to the East Coast and ski with respectful people. My advice: If you visit Chomonix, do not go to Club Med, stay at a local place, hire a tour guide daily to take you at your level, eat in town and enjoy. Although friends of mine (I was in a CT ski club tour) went out for dinner and waited to be waited on (in a line); the counter woman ignored them, they politely asked to be waited on and she screamed, WHAT NO BONJOUR, NO HELLO, GET OUT!! OMG, really! Do they not have hospitality classes for the French? It is exactly as you have heard all these years, sadly to report but true, the French seem to be snobs. Probably best to go to the Italian Alps or the Swiss Alps. Wherever you go, don't go to club med in Chomonix for skiing.

Staff gave a quick introduction and then we were on the way through the cheese making exhibition and process. The audio tour comes with the entrance fee and is very informative. Lots of background and interesting facts. The displays are very well done. The highlight of course is the room with the cheesemaking process. You can overlook it from the top. We were lucky that day because the cheesemakers were just starting the process and we were able to see every step of it that day. They're not doing that all day long here, but we got lucky to catch the moment. You also get three cheese samples. A 6, a 9 and a 12-month old Gruyere. Very nice, I liked the 12 month the most. Has the best flavours in my opinion. There's also a restaurant in the building and an attached shop with cheese, souvenirs and more. It's a really great place to visit. And they keep updating the exhibition. Located right next to the train station it's easy to find and surely a must-do if here for the first time. Surely we'll be back.

I would defiantly recommend! Cheese is delicious especially the one that's aged 12 years !! It's also conveniently located steps away when u get off the train. Only reason for my 3 stars is our waiter was RUDE ! We saw another writer helping other people he was so nice to them. Other than that I would go back.

This is likely a result of the clientèle they regularly serve. The United Nations offices, Red Cross and WHO are very close by, so there are large numbers of dignitaries staying in the hotel on a regular basis. This also means a very secure environment that caters to people of varying nationalities. The TV channel selection, for example, reflects this. Be sure to visit the hallway with photos of some of the well-known people who've stayed at the hotel, which was first opened in 1964. We certainly had one of the lower end rooms, facing west toward some local housing (and a co-op) vs. overlooking Lake Geneva in the distance. Incidentally, the co-op has some decent ready-to-eat food selections... so if you don't want a sit-down meal, it might be a good place to visit. Other than the hotel restaurant, there are only a few good places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel. Our room was spacious by European standards, and there was beautiful lighting, extra seating, and desk space. A room safe and minibar are part of the package. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed, with an expansive deep bathtub and wonderful large bath towels. The toiletries were a rather exclusive brand and had a great unisex scent. We only had breakfast in the restaurant, but it, too, was outstanding. Both buffet and menu selections were available. Servers were competent and sincerely nice. We especially enjoyed our interactions with Sarah. The hostess was wonderful as well. This hotel had many amenities that we didn't use, like a pool and sauna. Be sure to look these up ahead of time so you bring what you need.
