This is the second time we have stopped here on our way to Bellingham and have had great food and service both times. Food is hot and fresh! I've had their chicken ranch wrap and French toast. If I could give 0 star, I'd definitely do so. I came to this place for a lunch break. I browsed the internet for top rated places around Monroe and this place came up. My expectations were high because it has 4.1 stars. I walked into this place and it was gorgeous. Waitress was very nice and seated me immediately. However, everything turned downhill after the food was brought out. I literally got attacked by flies. They were on my hands and in my hair, one even got close enough to my cheeks and ears. It was a disturbing moment. I'm pretty sure the waitress noticed it and didn't even offer to seat me somewhere else or apologize for the situation. Just one question "how's everything going?" In addition, there were only 6 customers at that time event. I came here for lunch and it turned to be a war with the flies. I can't imagine how the kitchen would turn out to be. I used to manage a restaurant and I know a lot of preventatives to avoid this happening, so it's not something uncommon. This just shows that the manager of this place is too lazy to put in the effort and the customers have to pay the price. Overall, low efforts from the team. Dropped in yesterday for a quick bite on my way home from work and ordered the super nachos with grilled chicken. When my bill came they tacked on a $6.99 charge for the chicken. I tried the location in Everett a couple of years ago and it was trash. I tried the monroe location last weekend and it wasn't trash but it was not great. We waited for about 30 minutes while people that entered after us, were seated before us. Once seated, we got menus that were sticky and had not been cleaned. We ordered unsweetened tea which was not good at all. It tasted like instant tea instead of brewed, which was very bitter. Our food arrived and the waitress forgot to enter the entire order so one person had to wait an additional 10 or so minutes to get his food. I understand that mistakes happen. We weren't upset at all. The food was just okay. There was nothing great about it. There was also nothing great about our experience either. A childhood impression shattered. Odd service that vacillated from friendly to mean to non attentive. The next table went looking for the server 2x. Nothing 'special' that we asked for like no onions was accommodated like the person never took the notes. Asking to stagger the meal with apps first dud not work either. I went today and had the Big Mouth Burger. Overall it was an okay visit considering it's mainly a diner. The service was good - though they were not busy. The burger was okay. Sadly they use frozen patties even though they sell steak. Confused by that but likely a cost choice. The tea is plastic bag tea - not fresh brew. The value was decent compared to surrounding restaurants serving the same meal. The biggest issue I had was cleanliness. Everything around the tables is covered in dust - the blinds, blind shelves, light strings, etc. There was also food left over from the last visitor on my booth seat. Lastly, the light cover seemed to have been attacked by an accidental spray of ketchup or A1 and it has been sitting for a long time. I may try again for their ribeye steak just to see if there is any difference in service / quality. I was a little apprehensive due to previous reviews, but we had an enjoyable meal today. Love the all-day breakfast. I had the country Benedict w/ biscuits, sausage, eggs and gravy. Speaks volumes that they have a beautiful gas fireplace in the dining room, but they told me it hasn't worked for over two years when I asked if it could be turned on. Hmm. The food continues to be good and the service great, but the penny pinching is too much to make this place enjoyable. I used to be a regular, taking my family of 5 there 2-3 times a month. But no more, the changes over the past year or so have made this no longer enjoyable. While I could go on and on, here are the three things that I noticed that have changed my opinion. 1. They no longer give a birthday discount. Unlike some other places that give you a discount for the entire birthday month, they only gave it to you on your actual birthday. But no longer. This is crazy, rarely does anyone go out for their birthday by themselves, now they just lost the ticket for the entire party, just to save a few dollars. 2. Tipping guide on the receipt, the guide provides tip rates AFTER taxes. Tipping has always been voluntary and should be based on the pre-tax total. 3. They now have a "Transaction Fee" of roughly 3% for credit cards. I might expect that from a family-owned restaurant, however not from a chain. By using credit cards, it reduces the amount of time the employees spend balancing the receipts. They should take a lesson from Costco and the $1.50 hot dog / drink deal. People will spend $100's at Costco but feel like it is a deal because they get a $1.50 hot dog and drink on the way out. Sure, these are only 3 things, but these are the things I see, what are they doing that I do not see? read more

I enjoy dinner at Buzz Inn in Monroe about once a week. The food is very good for the price and the servers are attentive and friendly. I usually get in and out with a New York strip steak, baked potato, salad, glass of cab and tip for $50.00. Buzz Inn provides excellent value (food and service) for my money. read more

We were weekly customers and like supporting local businesses versus corporate chains. We'll no longer support this local business as the regular morning, single dining room waitress was offensive and rude. After I nodded at this waitress upon entering, while she was restocking napkins / other, we entered the empty dining room and chose a table.( except for a couple patrons in the separate bar section) When asked if we wanted coffee from across the room, she approached us with coffees and a "Can I ask a question: do yawl know how to read? " The sign says please wait to be seated. She then stated that we never comply and always just walk in. This is absolutely untrue as we've had several other servers wait on us and point for us to sit anywhere upon entering when she isn't working, as she has also done in the past. (Not sure if it was her issue, or prompted by her manager?) Its incomprehensible that a server would insult and lecture customers in a condescending tone for this type of an issue first thing in the morning.( In a completely empty dining room) Note: we always tip @20%+ and aren't looking for special treatment(even when service is marginal) We're Just looking for good food and service. Considering the local business competition and economy, insulting customers at ~7:05 a.m. should never be an acceptable business practice. We are mature, and civil citizens that know how to read and speak. We've lived in this community and supported this business for over 35 years+. After deciding to leave the restaurant and dine elswhere, my wife stated that we should speak with the manager before exiting. The waitress then responded: "The manager will tell you the same thing" and she then asked if the sign should be moved to the center of the aisle to block entry?! Husband for bbq Daughter got naked with a side of blue cheese and inferno sauce. I got a taco salad Son got the classic burger with fries. Husband also got long island ice tea, not badly priced at $8. If you have a 2020 entertainment book there is a coupon in there for buy one entree get one free up to $11. We use to love coming to this place. Quick food and the claw machine is nice for our kids. The last month they have got new people and it's gone down hill. Dallas was very weird to us once when he came up to ask if we wanted drinks and we informed him we had already gotten our order taken for drink he got mad and then just stood at our table staring at us like it was our fault someone else took our drink order. It made us very uncomfortable. Then this weekend we thought we would give it another try. Big mistake. We were told to grab a seat so we did. For 15 minutes not one person came to help us. Dallas was busy counting his tip money right where everyone could see then started to help a big table that came in after us. We had enough time to win two animals at the claw machine and pick out food and still wasn't helped. So we got up walked out. As a family of 4 who would have got 2 breakfast items 2 kids breakfast items and a couple drinks you guys lost a Sale and we won't be back. She ordered the tsunami and I ordered something else which I can't recall the name of at this moment. We were both struck at the different size of each. The tsunami appeared to have double the amount of food on her skillet than mine. I'm not entirely sure why as I didn't read all of the ingredients on the various skillets. I eat breakfast and dinner here on a regular basis - usually get great service, and enjoy the food, especially the corned beef hash breakfast and their rib eye steak dinner. Always had good service, Prices are moderate ($12 or so for bfast w/coffee, $20 for steak dinner with NA drink). Steak has always been cooked perfectly, medium rare. My kid loooves the chicken fried steak. Menu is much like Dennys, but the food is actually prepared and cooked, not heated up in a microwave. Big screens on the wall with sports, fun atmosphere. 4 stars because they excel at what they do - tasty, filling home cooked food served up by sassy waitresses who (generally) keep your coffee cup full. And last night i got a surprise, my kid couldnt finish his meal and asked for a take home box. I usually don't care too too much about "hands-off" service as long as the food is great, but I was quite unimpressed with our waitress who brought out the food. We had ordered a side of vegetables with our steak, but they accidentally brought out chowder. Mistakes happen, so we kindly let them know, but the waitress said "No, you ordered chowder." Now I had very clearly heard my mother order vegetables (she firmly believes chowder is unhealthy and would never order it), so I spoke up and let her know that she did order veggies. She grabbed the chowder, let out a huge sigh, and left without an apology. Now onto the food: - Sirloin steak: Delicious! Ordered a medium, and it came out medium. Very tender and seared well on the outside. The sides of veggies, salad, and chowder, were lacklustre. The salad had shredded cheddar cheese on it (what?). However, for $15, great steak - Country Fried Steak (chicken): the gravy was below average, tasting slightly like it was from a mix. The steak itself was tasty, however there was very little actual meat - certain parts honestly seemed like just breading. The chili was good, but not great.
