They have a broad range of white and red, average around the fifteen dollar mark. You can find excellent wines here for gifts and to take to dinner parties, but if you're looking for cheapy cheap plonk you're better off at Dan Murphy's. They also have a nice range of beers and a few ciders and pre-mixed, but wine is definitely the focus here. Great service, the staff here are friendly and if you make a bad joke, they're kind enough to politely laugh.

I even got BIG ice cube trays here. The staff are great and they will work hard to help (at least at my store of the last 5 years) until you find something you like. Also they flatter me each time they ask for my ID. Sign up as a member, okay so the government may track your alcohol intake... ha, no negatives and sometimes you find something awesome with it. One thing I would suggest is a scrapping the flyers policy. So many flyers every week. Just print up the specials and place them around the store and onliine And stop handing out flyers for specials. As far as I can tell they have the biggest selection of wines and probably spirits also! The first time I walked into the store I wandered around with a mate for well over an hour, astounded at how many beverages there were that we hadn't consumed in vast quantities! Still to this day there are still more than I can count, and I try so very, very hard! Anyways, I'll make it simple. I have found that the wineries in the hills are selective on where they sell their wine. As for crafties, it is like a trip around the world. You will not be bored here. The store is a lot bigger than you think it is from the road. Rows and rows of glowing bottles. If you are stuck for choice (which I am sure you will be) be sure to speak to the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are really helpful. I have always found the staff to be helpful, something I need as I am not much of a drinker. It is quite a large store which could probably do with better signage so you can find things more easily, especially if you are like me and don't come often enough to know the lay out or if you happen to be drunk already, in which case you may get lost even quicker. Great place for alcohol emergency's - drive in, pick up a trolley, race round loading it up, pay and whisk it out to the car, what could be easier.

This is really awesome for this end of town as there is not another bottleo that offers this big of a range. Next stop for crafties would be closer to town. Correct me if I am wrong! Not a bad wine selection too. There were a few of the smaller boutique drops in here amongst the bigger names. Also well priced all round. For a big brand bottle shop, this one is very good. All of these bottle shops are Australian owned and are connected to a pub so it's no like a freestanding Fassina, Dan Murphy's or a BWS. What I like about it besides being Aussie owned, is the name is so apt and the logo is very outback ocker displaying a camel and I think their prices are not too bad. They also run several competitions and offer a discount card where points can be earned towards a reduction on normal prices. Once you drive in there are lanes for express and browsing, as there's nothing worse than being stuck behind a dawdler especially when you're late for a party and all you want is a slab and get the hell out of there! Thirsty Camels have sprung up everywhere and there are many locations throughout South Australia, so have a look in the White Pages or go online to find where they are and support an Australian owned business. Did you know the Highway Inn had the 'world's' first drive through bottle shop! How's that for trivia. Adelaide really was forward in their thinking at the time anyway.

I have been in here when I want to buy a dozen bottles of wine (there is a discount if you are purchasing at least 6 at a time), because there is a large variety of wines at great prices (especially those gorgeous Savignon Blancs from New Zealand!). Yesterday I was there to purchase a particular bottle of wine that I found online - the more specialised wine section is at the left when you walk in the door, and you can go by wine type, and wine regions. This particular McLaren Vale Shiraz was easy to find because of the great layout. All in all, this is a great place to buy in bulk or to find a specialised bottle. If you are looking for spirits and mixers, they have a huge range of these as well. It's more of a warehouse feel rather than a small friendly bottle shop ... but that's what you get when the range is as large as this!

The staff are very friendly, and there is a large selection for such a small shop. I'm usually buying either wine or cider - the range of wine is extensive (as a lot of South Australian bottle shops provide these days), and there are usually great specials that encourage you to spend a bit more in order to save money in the long run (well, that's what I tell myself when I walk out with 3 bottles of white rather than the intended 1!). The cider choices aren't as extensive, offering just the basics in 4 packs, or large bottles (though I did spy a 1.5L magnum of pear cider, which is quite bizarre!). All in all, a good bottle shop, made just that bit better by their location, ease of carparking and friendly service.
