The restaurant was extremely busy when we went but we got our table right away upon arrival. People were very friendly here but very hard to get service. Since many restaurants closed early in the CDB area. This is one of the fews halve late closing hours. This restaurant is famous for its pizzas. I love their thin crust pizza with crunchy edge. Since the pizzas are huge, we ordered two pizzas to share among four of us. You can order many different toppings and we chose the simple pepperoni. We also got a spaghetti carbonara to share. The pasta was equally amazing. It was perfectly cooked to al dente. The carbonara sauce was fantastic. You should order their light beer to go with pizza. we had very good experiences with beer here in Hamburg so far. While visiting Hamburg, you should definitely stop by this place for good Italian food. But just need to be patient to be served.

Earlier that Monday the whole team went here for lunch. My german team told us that the pizzas here are huge, so one of my collagues and I shared a caprese pizza (they gave us both one half). I enjoyed the fresh table bread they provided. Service during the day was better than when we went at night. The caprese pizza was alright, but had just one small little ball of mozzarella and one teeny basil leaf on each slice. I would have expected more. As others have mentioned, the toppings are on the sparse side. I also ordered a side salad, so I only ended up eating one slice of pizza and taking the rest to go. When we came back for dinner later that night, they were very busy but we were able to get a table by the door. I had ordered a tomato shrimp gnocchi dish, the girls had ordered an artichoke cream soup and a special crawfish pasta. We all ended up sharing even though my main dish was the gnocchi. The portions here are huge again, even more so with the pasta. The gnocchi were very pillowy and filling. I actually enjoyed the light cream sauce crawfish pasta more, and I'm not even a fan of crawfish. And the artichoke cream soup was refreshing. Again, since they were so busy, we had to keep asking for several things. But it's honestly not a bad option for a cheap Italian meal. Dishes top around 12-13 Euro.

But waling by, it did not look so cosy so we chose another italian restaurant in the street. Da Donato. Clasical interior with red checkered tablecloths, Bast bottles hanging from the ceeling and a small altar in honor of Juventus. Tacky but traditional. My boyfriend and I were soo hungry, that we ordered a lot of food. Two Bruscette pommedoro, two Vitello Tonatto, two Linguini alle Vongole (Clams) and two pizze. WOW, we really didn't think much there. I asked the waiter if the vongole was fresh, and he replied with bringing the still breathing (opening and closing) clams on a plate, telling me, that they were brought in this morging. I was sold. I looooveee Linguini Vongole and since my boyfriend never tasted them, he ordered one too. Bruscetta was good, but avarage, The Vitello Tonato was really good. Simple, honest as it should be, without any fancy green stuff on it (see my review of Tony's). But ohhh my god was the Linguini Vongole amazing. Having lived in Firenze for a while, I know good Italian food, but this was out of this world deliscious. I have not had that good a vongole outside of Italy, and that is saying something. Halfway through our Vongole i had to resign. No Pizza for me. Same did my BF. Luckily the waiter just laughed and said he understood, but had hoped to see how we would manage that much food. So we never tried the pizza. We left with a big smile on our faces. Happy and content with full stomac and still money in the pocket. The place is not that expensive compared to the quality. I highly recommend this place for anyone with a taste for good honest Italian food.
