    Tasting menu - nice idea!
    Marla P.

Very nice little protected outdoor seating area. This is a fun stop to try the local brews! The tasting tray is very nicely presented, and the brews themselves are all very tasty. Chocolatey one was a nice surprise. It's an inexpensive way to get a little education Note: Out-of-season, it seemed very quiet, large and not cozy inside. But the cinema in the building had great selection of films, so that filled any entertainment gap.

Let me start out by saying it seems like a great place, the menu sounds great, they have a bunch of food deals, they place live music, it's right next door to a wonderful hostel with loads of people, and they brew their own beer. Sounds like an awesome place, right? Well it didn't really live up to what it promises. When I got there at 6:30 pm, there were a bunch of open tables inside and not a lot of people. So I waited for my friend and we got in around 7pm and suddenly all the tables inside were full so we had to eat outside. The outside area is nice and has cool Thai inspired decor and it had live music which was cool, but it was so loud we were yelling to each other and still couldn't hear what the other was saying. It was a cool touch, but would be better if the music wasn't as loud. The food was good but not great, but I expected that. I had the chicken linguini on the share menu which was a large portion of food and taste satisfactory. It wasn't anything spectacular but I would order it again. My friend order the chicken schnitzel which looked good and she seemed to enjoy. The major positive for me was that we got an AMAZING deal on food and drink. We did the buy one get one free on the menu, so that made two entrees for 24 dollars. But on top of that, I had coupons from the MAD guidebook that allowed us free drinks (beer, house wine, soft drink) when we bought a meal so we got two of the house beers. I got the pale lager and my friend got the pale ale. So it was 12 dollars each for a beer and a large entree. Great value! The beers were disappointing though. If you really like beer, don't come here expecting to be wowed by some amazing beer. Speaking that it's a brewery I expected better, but they were so dull in flavor. We did get them for free without meal, but still we were hoping for more. I would recommend coming here for the deals as a backpacker, but if you're a foodie like me and want quality meals and/or beer, this isn't your place.

Great food, good beer, and awesome specials! We went on $10 steak night, had a great time. Definitely check it out if you're in Byron Bay.

Food arrives promptly, I sit down & take off the top, have a peek inside to see what's going on.... (see my photos) HEY DUDE!!! Someones seasoned my food with coal grit!! I don't remember asking for a "Coal Burger with cheese".... the contents of my burger were covered in black dust & grit, burnt shit, scraps of food that had been on the grill for a considerable time, burnt black & hard, like coal... I was hungry, I was pressed for time, so I picked off the bigger bits of 'coal'..... but I try not to eat shit like that, I believe it's potentially carcinogenic, & your body is a temple, right? And I know the cook can see this black shit all over the grill, and he can see this black shit all over my food, but he chose to serve it like that, damn his lily white backpacker ass!! So I crunched my way through my Cancer Burger with cheese. The bun is awesome, if a little scorched topside, not a factory bun; the lettuce is fresh & crunchy; the mayo is great, zesty & flavoursome, the cheese is fully melted & delicious. But the sound of crunching coal with every mouthful is VERY distracting. Throw a good pinch of sand over yr next pasta dish & you will see what it's like... Advice to all grill cooks: Clean the grill, OFTEN. Keep it clean. It takes 2-3 seconds each time, it's part of yr job! an essential part of yr job. Advice to burger aficionados: Get yr top off! Often! take a peek before u eat! Yr body is a temple.

One guy flipping burgers, a lady on the assembly line stacking fries and shit, and a guy at the register keeping everyone calm during the wait. Kind of has the Soup Nazi feel so know what you are going to order before it's your turn. Go classic - or if you want to be a bad bitch like me - get the Hawaiian for a pinch of pineapple and bacon. It has the kind of bun like Shake Shack in NYC; the one that is buttery and slightly chalky and just melts in your mouth. I never realized how much a bun effects the entire taste of burger until writing that sentence. But it definitely does and Beloporto aces it. The chicken is massive and slim, tender to touch and taste. The chili sauce adds a bit of bang, and y'all know how much chiddy likes his bang bang. And the condiments are a saucy haven for a chick like me. This is the kind of burger you'll want to get with someone you are comfortable with. It'll be messy and you're going to want to eat the entire thing. Like, for real, don't expect to have sex after eating here because you will be uncomfortably stuffed. No pun intended. Also, $10 Tuesdays - includes drink and chips.

I guess the reason being is that I made the trek out here, upon discovering that the brewery was in Byron Bay, only to learn that they don't have a license to actually serve beer. Well, sort of, because they can serve tasting pallets, but that is basically it. This was a real shame actually, though now that I come to think of it, I probably should have just had a pallet.

The tour is great value. $35pp which covered 1 1/2 hours of beer history, ingredient knowledge, a walk through the brewery and plenty of taste testers. I honestly can't believe how generous the drinks were. Starting with a cheeky 10am schooner to break the ice, followed by 2 middies and ending with 1/2 a paddle. Safe to say I was feeling very relaxed and before we knew it it was 2pm! The brewery has a great atmosphere in general and our guide for the day Mike was awesome. Very chilled which maybe is how he looks so good. No way he is 40!! We came back the next day to pick up some beers to enjoy poolside at our B&B (sneaking in a garden ale and refreshing seltzer before we left). The seltzer is also gluten free, vegan and low sugar. Returning a third time to get some gifts to bring home for family. I would highly recommend a visit when in Byron Bay. The ethos of this business is something we can all strive for. A place that embraces its community and in turn the community has embraced it.
