Absolutely amazing Portugieser!!…read more In all our wine tastings, the Mr & I steered away for the Portugieser but Klaus Böhme totally won us over Lovely tasting room and there were many of their wines available for tasting - we found more than a few we liked but were blown away by the Portugieser. Fruity and dry all at the same time with a nice full-bodied effect - amazing! While we were there, another couple from the same region in western Germany as we live, came in specifically to stock up on Portugieser & we all delighted in Klaus Böhme - we have found a treasure!

Mr & I joined the sparkling wine tour at Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien…read more Knowing ahead of time they did not offer tours in other languages than German, Mr translated for me & since I was familiar with the wine-making process, it was nice to see their barrel rooms and hear their history (albeit secondhand) The building and prep areas were extremely hot & we learned that the building itself did not used to have a roof but after many bottles exploded from Also interesting to see the largest wine barrel n Germany and it was quite impressive to see how pristine the barrel carvings were, even after all this time Their wines leaned more towards the dry variety and at the end of the tour, we enjoyed a couple of glasses of different blends. The tour guide tried telling us our glasses were the same wine but they definitely were not as the color and tastes were very different So we unfortunately did not get to purchase a bottle of this but did walk out with a bottle of the Rose.
