I had been told by people living in the High Coast area that all of the 13 chapels along the water were open, the key hanging by the door. But not Bönhamn Chapel, though. So I could just look through the windows. This chapel is painted and in a way modernized. Very little remain of an original impression. The Chapel was built around 1560. But this said it still has a historical value. But how come there was no key? I was told that a dutch man ripped the valuable things from the chapels in the 1990s and brought them to Spain where some of them could be seen in Spanish museums! He was sentenced and what could be saved was sent back to Sweden. I looked through the window again and it was like I could hear people singing and praying from inside. Heaven and Earth. read more
