This shop has been around for centuries and has served generations of local (real) Dundrum folk. Paul can do anything you need done to your shoes, sole them stretch them, repair them in any way. I can't really fill in the opening times for this shop because they are very sporadic, but if you need an excellent job done on your shoes (by a man who knows his trade well) you can just ring this shop and Paul will let you in even if the shop is closed. And if you need to pick them up when the shop is closed he will let you in the door to collect them! its just how a local business should be, willing to cater for their customers under any circumstances and willing to keep the independent retailer alive. I can only say to you, "Please use this shop because it would be a piece of history mising if this shop ever had to close and give in to those who want to modernise Dundrum"

So I did. And I paid in advance, €28. When I went to collect them the two days later, it was a different man working there. He couldn't find them initially. It turned out they hadn't been repaired at all. The man told me to go off for about 20 minutes or so and he would repair them in the meantime. I decided to wait instead. He started to work on them and, while he was working on them, another customer came in for a heel repair. He stopped working on my boots and did the other customer's shoes straight away. He then finished the work on my boots. Being let down and then delayed like this was very disappointing and I will not return to this cobbler for any further repairs. Furthermore, one of the soles started to come loose a few months later.

In this modern era of cheap, fashionable shoes designed to last one weekend and be abandoned it's probable that many of us haven't ever had a shoe repaired. If you do have an precious pair of favourites you can't imagine parting with, then don't. C & D Shoes can do wonders loosening tight shoes, tightening loose shoes, lowering high-heels and, quite probably, highering low-heels.

I didn't go for "as you wait" because overnight was perfect for me. The right shoe was badly worn with a little hole through to the 'hollow' heel but this proved not to be a problem.
