Once again, a great Memorial day boating trip on Lake Hartwell thanks to Harbor Light Marina. I've…read morerented a deck boat for the day from these guys probably around 6 or 7 times now. They're easy to deal with, the boats are fun, and I think the prices are reasonable. During the summer it's $349 plus gas for the day. We use it for tubing and knee boarding. The kids love it,. Some tips: Ask for ski vests. They're free but if you get busted by the rangers without them, you'll get a hefty fine. Radios don't work, so bring your own boom box. If you are staying at Tugelo, it's very quick by water and easy to find the park once you you're on the lake, but bring a park map so you can find your particular camp site easily.

You can find Harbor Light Marina at 1476 Harbor Light Marina Rd Lavonia, GA 30553. Access is via a…read moreroad right off the Whitworth Rd (Hwy 77) Exit from I85 near Lavonia. Go across the interstate and it's the first accessible right to Harbor Light Marina Rd. There seems to be a lot of parking either at the clubhouse/restaurant level or down closer to the water. This seems to be a fairly well maintained marina - I've visited a few times as one of my friends keeps his boat there. It doesn't seem to be super busy, especially if you get there before lunch - seems most of the local boaters come later in the afternoon. The lake itself is beautiful and very clean/clear. It also seems less populated than the nearby party lakes so if you're into casual swimming this is the place for you.

Even though we got there super early, because of the holiday, there was a HUGE line getting into Devils Fork Park with the park rangers checking in with every vehicle - the rangers were turning away everyone without a parking reservation. I called Eclectic Sun and the nice lady on the phone said to show them our kayak reservation confirmation and that she would have a parking spot saved for us. Because we were in line for 1+ hours, we didn't get in until way after our reservation time but everyone was super nice and adjusted the time for us. The guys at the life jacket rental and down by the water helping people get in and out of their kayaks were also all very nice. All kayaks they had seemed to be in great shape, we had no problem using ours. Once you're out in the water, you can just dock it at any beach area you find around the lake (even though it was a busy day at the lake, there are so many beaches, you can easily find an empty one). We will definitely come back and rent one out again!

Affordable and bring your bathing suits if you want to swim! Sidenote: parking is convenient if your their early and there's a separate charge for that. $8 per person! Sidenote 2: the water is a beautiful turquoise.... Close to the color of the water in the Caribbean!

N & C grossly misrepresented the condition of the boat I purchased online. N & C arranged transport and the boat arrived with $1,000 in new damage, as well as prior damage. It was not the "clean, like new, no cosmetic or mechanical damage, perfect, lake-ready" boat the general manager described. There was months, if not years of grime covering the boat, mold/mildew, standing water, clogged drains, and numerous scrapes, tears, stains, gouges, scratches on fiberglass, vinyl, trim, motor, an oil drip, a broken Bimini top that flies off on the road (transit damage), a non-working auto bilge pump. The boat in rough shape for a 2023 with only 24 hours on it. It was not until I received the paperwork that I discovered there was no title and they'd hidden that the boat was a bank owned repossession, which explained the condition. This was a misused, neglected boat that the owners knew would be repossessed, so they didn't bother to take care of it. "Good Faith" representation includes disclosing any and all known information that might affect a buyer's decision to purchase. The owner Nathan Rhodes ignored my emails asking him to make this right. I had no choice but to hire an attorney to receive a title 12 WEEKS after purchase with over half of lake season over. Even after a demand letter from my attorney, it took four weeks for a response, which was simply, "We sent the title." Shameful!

They live the lifestyle. If you don'tknow what they means, you shold stop by and find out. Their service shop has been a breeze to deal with also. Highly skilledand certified mechanics... You don't want anyone else working on your boat. They also have Wake boards, Wakesurf boards, skis, vests, ropes, etc. They are new and are building up their inventory, so I expect more is to come. At somepoint they will be taking over all the space at their current location which will allow for more inventory. They are owned by Watersports Central in Atlanta which is a premier dealership with huge experience. They are also great folks. The Seneca location has the major resource to back them up.

My wife hadn't had a lot of boating experience and this was our first boat so it was a real gamble to commit this much money but we took the plunge and had a bunch of 'newbie' issues trailering, at the launch, docking, pulling out of winter storage, etc. and she has been ready to sell it several times but every time I've called the shop Tommy (or occasionally another shop person) has been INCREDIBLY patient and helpful and there have been a few little things that they have fixed, corrected, or helped us figure out without any judgement or questions. I would DEFINITELY encourage anyone to purchase a boat from them!
