The project was to demo 800 square feet of 30 year old tile and install new tile flooring that runs from the large entry way under the front door into the living room of my house. With huge plate glass windows throughout the space. There was also a rainwater drainage issue that needed a solution. All my concerns about the tile layout and sloping for drainage and protecting the big windows were all addressed both upfront and throughout process. This job included removing the old tiles, machine grinding to remove old cement and rebuilding of the cement base outside, putting in a new drainage pipe through a cement frame under a glass wall and then installing the new tile. The end result is a beautiful new tile floor. I highly recommend DJ and his team to handle your home remodel projects.

I believe they have the skill set to do basic repairs and projects. Maybe even more than easy, but it seems when any sort of adversity comes the quality falters. I had a driveway done, which does look nice, but ended up cracking in quite a few places. Not two or three places, but all over. Cracking across the majority of the driveway. I asked about any sort of warranty, having one or two cracks I could've looked past it. When it continued and started cracking all over it got frustrating. Especially when JD came out and looked at the cracks and told me he would ask his concrete guys about a fix. (At this point I was already anticipating he would NOT get back to me, and what do you know. Ghosted.) No communication after that, no attempts to update me on any sort fix. For anyone that reads the reviews. You'll notice the out of country, had an emergency excuse. He used that excuse with me as well after blowing us off for multiple days at a time. Seems fishy. Cheap contractor. Cheap work. Bad customer service. I'd recommend to do your due diligence and get more quotes especially if these guys are your only one. They did not drag their feet and delay things, problems were solved quickly and I appreciated that. Showed up without the drywall guy Alex though (who said he didn't have the appt. on his schedule) so I called the office and was told Alex would come out the next day. He did show, after I called the office AGAIN, and was over 30 min. late. That was on Nov 13. Since then, the KCHRP rep I'm working with and I have been GHOSTED and we never received any estimates for the work that would be done. All of that time spent for NOTHING.

He and Chris came out together for the first bid and had good ideas that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. Once the project started, Vasile continued to be prompt but was also very quiet (helpful while working from home during COVID) and clean. Most importantly, though, his work is impeccable (I'll add some photos later). Vasile installed a bathroom vanity and recessed medicine cabinet, moved a lighting fixture, and fixed all the drywall and trim. It is perfect. He also fixed some drywall, textured, and painted some walls where an electrician had to cut in. You can't even tell any work was done. Finally, and most impressively, he closed up a closet door and moved it to the other side of the closet to build a large pantry. My house is very old and crooked. Nothing is plumb, level, or square. Nevertheless, he managed to frame, trim, and hang the closet door, plus build, drywall, texture, and paint the wall, and trim it out to match the rest of the house. He was very thoughtful about all the details. Next, they are coming out to build a fence and deck for us. We can't wait to see how it turns out!

We looked at several homes and we finally found a jewel that was tucked back in this beautiful lot on almost an acre in the heart of University Place. To be honest I didn't see the potential that my wife could see, but I loved the lot and I trusted my wife's judgement so we decided to make an offer and the sellers accepted. Now we had to begin the task of finding a contractor. In all we had 6 or 7 contractors look at the scope of our project. As is unfortunately very common among contractors just getting a call back was difficult. That is until we met Ryan and Ken at the Remodeling Expo in Tacoma. They showed up when they said they would for our first walk through appointment. Immediately we felt very confident they were going to be our contractor. Our house turned out amazing. They literally transformed this old 1968 home with walls everywhere, laminate floors and old wall paper into the home of our dreams. They worked really well with my wife and all of her ideas as well as a designer we hired to help put our ideas to paper. Ryan even took my wife's description of her dream front door, drew it out on paper and found a custom door builder to make it. It is the focal point of our home as you first drive up. What makes KBC different from other contractors is their integrity. They show up when they say they are going to and they make things right no matter what. Like with any large project like ours, mistakes are going to happen. When we discovered them, Ryan and Ken were quick to figure out a solution and fix the problem. You might find a contractor that gives a cheaper bid but I can say with confidence after walking through this project that you will get what you pay for. KBC is worth every penny!

We signed our contract with Kingdom Builders in October 2020 and paid just over $10,000 as a…read moredeposit to begin a kitchen remodel project. Shortly after receiving our deposit, representatives from the company made two brief visits to our home. After that, communication abruptly stopped. Phone calls went unanswered, and mail sent to their listed address was returned as undeliverable. We spent well over a year attempting to locate and contact the company regarding our project and deposit. Eventually, with the help of a friend, we discovered the business had moved from its Sumner, WA storefront to a location in Yelm without notifying us as customers. Based on the company's website and branding, we believed they operated as a faith-based or Christian business, which made this experience even more disappointing for our family. We were able to locate a phone number for one of the owners as well as the new business address. Multiple additional messages were left, but again, no response was ever received. A friend in the construction industry assisted us further and uncovered records -- later confirmed with the State of Washington -- showing that between 8/15/2020 and 2/4/2021, the contractor's license was suspended and there was no valid or active bond in place. As a final attempt to resolve the matter, we sent a certified letter, which was returned marked "refused." Additional calls also went unanswered. At this point, we are pursuing legal action to recover our deposit, along with costs associated with certified mailings, time spent attempting to resolve the matter, and legal fees. We provided numerous opportunities for the company to address the situation and make things right, but those efforts were ignored. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend that anyone considering using Kingdom Builders proceed with extreme caution and do thorough research before entering into a contract. Our registration records indicate the contractor was suspended between 8/15/2020 to 2/4/2021 with no valid bond on file. Labor and Industries does not have authority to go back to 2020 to issue RCW18.27 unregistered contractor non-compliance violations.
