C Plaza venue, during the academic year is also known as the George Square Lecture Theatre. I'd been surprised that a crepe stand had popped up right next to it at the beginning of the Fringe; I felt it wasn't the most profitable location, right next to the main library.
I eventually realized it is in fact a venue for the Fringe, and yesterday, rather than heading there for my Public Law of the UK and Scotland lectures, I saw the fantastic musical fame instead. Halfway through the show, I caught myself wishing all future moments in the lecture theatre would be equally entertaining.
It can seat many people, and I was surprised at how comfortable it was when I wasn't having to concentrate on a lecturer. It was perhaps a tad big for the event as I always prefer a packed audience for these shows. However, I'd recommend it as it's a little bit away from the Fringe madness that has incredulously taken over Edinburgh at the moment! read more
