Never was he pushy or did we feel like he was in a rush. Like most, we sought out additional quotes from other reputable companies, but ultimately we chose Elite for a couple of simple reasons: 1) Price - while they weren't the lowest bid, they were the reasonable for the six foot privacy fence and tear out we needed. 2) Genesis Lawn - Elite often uses a third party company to do tear out and clean up of existing fences/debris. They are a husband and wife team that does an immaculate job. They began work at 8a and stayed until 7p when the job was done. They use a ditch witch to pull out fence posts and such so be prepared for your yard to get a little messy during the process, especially if it's raining and/or muddy. We will definitely use them again for additional lawn and landscaping needs. 3) Communication - Each time we called, whether it was Steve's cell or the office we received a quick response, even if we had to leave a message for call back. We were confused about who was supposed to reach out to Genesis to sync up the tear out, but Steve and team took care of getting it ironed out. We also decided to add an additional gate about two weeks prior to install, we spoke to Kevin who documented our request. When I called back to get the final total for the work, Christina was aware of the change without me even having to mention it. The three man crew, headed by Nick, that installed the fence were also pleasant and took the time to walk the property at the beginning of the job, before they set the posts and at the end of the job to ensure everything was placed perfectly.

Elite Communication review, 2 stars, build, 4 stars…read more I'd like to start off by saying if you'd like a good looking fence built fast at a reasonable price, I wouldn't write off Elite. My fence looks great and the builders did a good job. Communication from the company 2 stars. The automated responses were the easiest parts. Before working with this company I would recommend knowing exactly what you want and having your property lines marked and flagged (not just a paper survey), and brush and fence removal done separately through a different company despite them saying they provide the service through a 3rd party. Details of that experience below: I first met with Leon he was kind, knowledgeable and quick. We instantly chose elite after meeting with him because of his personality. We had already met with a few other companies but loved how professional and friendly Leon was. I could tell why Elite had such good reviews! When he came by I explained we would like part our current fence removed and he strongly advised against it because of the additional cost of fence and brush removal (he wasn't joking), but that is what we wanted, so I asked if he could send us a quote with and without that fence removal to compare pricing. Upon receiving the bid, he did not include the fence/brush removal and the specs I had requested on height were incorrect. We went back and forth on bids probably 3 times before I emailed customer service to ask to work with someone else, as I felt like the attention was not there and I was not getting the bid I was needing. I of course was kind about Leon, expecting he was having a difficult week. Leon ended up calling me and we worked it out and I got the bid I needed and signed the deal. I ended up making a change between then and the build which I'm sure made me even more annoying :) By the week the fence was supposed to go in I was told I would meet with the project manager, nick, to discuss specifics of the build. This is when I was told we could discuss property lines, etc. To this day I have never met or spoke to Nick. The people I did meet with for the fence build were wonderful, although I only spoke to one person briefly and never got a "all done, hope you like it!" Or goodbye. The fence and brush removal company that works with elite were not told all details of where brush removal needed to be done, so I specified and so they charged additional for that so I was told. But also, they didn't clean up enough of the brush, as the builders seemed irritated with me that they had to do additional brush clean up, which I was told I would be charged for. I don't know that they knew I did the brush and fence removal through elites third party. Mind you I had already done brush removal myself, then paid way too much for terrible brush removal before I even met with elite, no fault of there's, but I am over it at this point. In the end, I was charged $2,300 for 46 feet of fence and brush removal from Elite total, and they left a giant pile inside the yard which I had to turn around and pay another company to remove. They also trimmed the fence over a pile of brush which I removed and now there is a gap :) The first day of the build when they were lining posts they had a question about the property lines, which I'm not exactly sure of, which is why I sent the company the land survey beforehand and asked to talk to someone (nick) ahead of time. He was so confused but they got it done. I guess hopefully on my property??? I still don't even know. My garden entrance gate was supposed to be cut to have a droop at the top, which Leon put in the bid, but was also not done. Anyways. The fence is great and looks great, I don't regret getting it. but I recommend knowing exactly what you want beforehand and don't make the quote guy mad because I feel slightly retaliated against. It seemed way messier than it needed to be. I knew nothing about fences beforehand so some help and recommendations would've been really nice but I ended up having to learn about everything so I could get this bid right. 3 stars for communication/customer service regarding the bid and build day. 5 stars for the build and customer service of the builder. Brianna on the phone was also wonderful and as helpful as possible. But this was my first big home purchase and when you're spending this kind of money I totally expect a little better service, especially why I am super clear and thorough as you can tell.

The use of 5 x 5 posts makes this almost industrial strength. Worth the money to have a fence that would probably stop a car.

After calling Hulver he tried to sell my husband a more expensive charger. When my husband said NO. He told my husband to remove it AND TAKE IT BACK TO MFA !!?? No! NO NO NO ! HE TOLD MR HULVER TO BRING US A NEW ONE. After he brought the new one he did not ground it. We started out with Mr . Hulver himself. Mr. Hulver will try and sell you on what he wants and not what you want. Mr. Hulver walked and measured and said. "I stick to my quotes " You have to tell him over and over again what you want. Then he himself came out to clear some area for the fence. He started out by tearing up the side of the drive with his track hoe. He then with no reservations completely tore into our pasture making it look like a category 5 tornado went through. His path of unbridled destruction toppled trees onto our existing fence taking it down to the ground which he said in a gruff voice. Well it's just the county's problem now. I explained that he destroyed the fence that we were planning to fix. Then Mr Hulver went in the wrong direction leaving digs and ruts the size grave diggers would use. Then my husband had to send him back in the correct direction. The destruction of out land was incredible. Then he asked for $300 after doing $500 damage. When his son and crew came out. More distraction. They just worked harder and faster at it. More fallen trees on fences. Again the Hulver boys try to talk you out of what you want. Sorry boys no fast money and quick jobs. After all sad and done I have a hot wire fence with lots of damaged property 20 foot spaced posts for OVER $2000 more the Mr. Hulver Quoted. So much for sticking to quotes. Will not recommend this company.

Our prior fence's construction and some odd elevation grades in our yard threw him some curveballs to work through, but was quick to talk through it with us and figured out some great solutions. Felt his pricing was fair and worth every penny we paid. He was also mindful of our neighbor and their dogs as he worked on our shared fence line...so much so that our neighbor hired him to work on their fence after ours! I did want something fresh and updated since the fence it was replacing had been about as plain as fence could be. The owner of the company is the one that came to design and quote. He was friendly and creative. We designed a horizontal fence with a multi height design since it goes uphill. The price quote was very reasonable so I signed up and a couple of weeks later I had a beautiful fence in place. They built it in about 4 hours. It was a chain link fence which are hard to find companies to install. They replace both my neighbor's gates as well (one wood and one chain link) as they were attached to the original fences being replaced. My neighbors were happy. I have since had storm damage to one side of the fence. They were out in one day after looking at the fence to repair. It is amazing how the fence looks. It looks like there was never any damage. We love our beautiful new fence!…read more I provided Brandon at BSB with the design for a non-capped rail picture framed spaced picket all cedar fence, and BSB made it happen for me and my neighbor. Our neighbor wanted the same design we had our hearts set on. Brandon from BSB came out to bid both jobs, I already had the fence in mind I was looking for and asked Brandon for 8 different pricings (different configurations, me being difficult but I want what I want) and he was able to provide them to me the SAME day unlike others I wanted bids from. BSB came out and set the new rough cut 4x4 cedar posts on day 1 and finished framing the all cedar fence on day 2 (next day). When the crew came out they were great at paying attention to detail and making use of extra dirt putting dirt where we needed it on the sides of the house where over time it had been washed away. They didn't leave a bunch of trash or scrap or tools on the job. Love how well the gates work and quality of material wood/gate hardware used. The BSB crew were really nice guys and were a pleasure to work with. Our price was very fair and reasonable. Also we were able to save money by pulling the old fence out hauling off before BSB installed and sealing the new fence our-selfs after BSB installed. Our fence is very solid as we have 2 big dogs that like to put their paws on the fence and this fence does a great job of keeping them in and dealing with their weight. We used a clear transparent seal (Penofin) on the cedar fence to add the final multi-tone color and protection. To top it all off we added 4x4 Imperial Black Aluminum Classy Caps Solar Caps to all posts, it really sets it off and makes for a beautiful look as you walk down the walking trail day or night. Since we have a walking trail behind the house we have received nothing but compliment after compliment day after day about how beautiful our new fences are. We think it was a great investment, keeps our big dogs in easily, and just looks amazing adding to the beautiful secluded walking trail environment look. We have nothing but good things to say about BSB and crew as they did a steller job installing the new fence and we can safely say that we would happily recommend BSB Fence & Deck for any new installation or repair.
