My first kid had trouble with reading and was tripped up in understanding word problems. We tried everything. We tried the school, we tried disciplining, begging, and bribing our kid to somehow get up to grade level. Not much luck. We tried private tutors. Ok, small success there but not enough. Plus, with private tutors - they are like unlicensed cabs. You don't really know who you're dealing with; I did not run a background check and I doubt many parents would do so. Then, OK, we tried HLC. Great tutors, great content, helpful staff. We saw a difference in short order. Scores improved and - to our shock - my child actually enjoyed being there. Long story short, I sent my second child to Huntington in Grayslake also. Again, good results. I very much recommend Huntington Learning Center. Despite being a nationwide company, they have a "local" feel that, I can tell, really responds to community demand as well as parent concerns. They are also surprisingly affordable and flexible with payment schedule. The one downside I will admit to - they aren't open Friday afternoons and there aren't enough closed doors/offices to control noise. It is one big open space. But, overall, HLC grayslake is very much worth it. PS. my kids introduced me to memes. So here's one!

Huntington has their own curriculum and does not match your kids school curriculum. Plus they ask for the school information and don't bother reaching out to them. They finally reached out when I told them I was not the middle person and they should be doing their job. Now I have a loan that I'm still paying for nothing. The test my daughters took at school showed no progress. the response I received is they are not done with their program. So pretty much I continue to pay with no guarantees. There school testing showed there was no progress. I told them that one of my child may have a learning disability and was told they don't specialize in that. If anything they should have offered to refund or try to negotiate something. I tried to get refunded or at least partially refunded and that turned out a no! We will not have our daughters attending there any more. I am very disappointed and would not suggest it to others. Save your money reach out to the school and ask for assistance. Huntington does not care, they just want to get paid. big sign if they are not will to guarantee, it should tell you a lot!

However, because of this, it is an extremely professional and enriching setting. Kensington teachers are also the highest paid in the field. They are thought of as educators, not just babysitters or daycare workers. As Kensington expands, it offers substantial opportunities for growth. There's no other early learning center like it. The Glenview location has a group of amazing women who care so deeply about the education and all around growth of their children. These girls are the best of the best! I chose to enroll my two children here because the curriculum is so rich. Kensington offers top of the line learning experiences and opportunities that we would not be able to find anywhere else. I am also extremely impressed with how Kensington has stepped up during the Covid shutdown. They are offering Zoom learning at least twice a week for each class, plus enrichment classes. We get multiple weekly "learning from home newsletters" with brilliant and easy to do ideas for home. There is constant communication with Directors and the teachers. They are doing all this while not charging for tuition. It's obvious that they truly care about the children.

She just didn't seem to be advancing despite the significant extra-expense. We decided to try Mathnasium, but I was worried that my daughter might give us a tough time about it. At first, she was apprehensive, however, it's been about 6 months and we've seen a nice change in her skills and confidence level. She honestly seems to enjoy going.
