This review is for our realtor Taylor Mock. He was referred to us by a friend and has been so great to work with. When my husband and I found out that we were expecting and decided to look for a larger home, we came to Mock to express our request of our "perfect home" that was within our price range and in our wanted school zoning area. He was very patient with me, because having a strong Asian background I had specific feng shui requirements (such as the stairs not facing directly in front of the door). Before we knew what we really wanted, we explored the available options that he had for us to get a feel of what we wanted in our home and what we would consider perfect. I def know that with the money that we were putting in, I made sure to ask as many questions and address any concerns that I had on each home - which he did not mind at all (Thank you Taylor!) haha. What I really appreciated from him was when we made plans to check out 3 houses one weekend, but found out the day before that one of those houses was going to have an offer put in - which means that we would not be able to see it if we were truly interested in purchasing. He rearranged his schedule and got us an opportunity to check out the house before it would be potentially be off the market. We checked it out and was so close to saying "yes" to the house, but we had found out that the kitchen was not facing in the right direction (according to our custom feng shui). We sadly had to walk away from the house, but he did not give up on us! After the Thanksgiving holiday, we made an appointment to check out two houses over the weekend. The first house we checked out just screamed out liability risk (that tends to happen to you when you work in the insurance industry) and just couldn't move forward with their backyard. The second house that we saw ended up being THE HOUSE that we fell in love with. It was within our price range, had a majority of what we wanted in a home, backyard is beautiful, and...it had ALL of our feng shui requirements. I have to admit, although I may be making it seem like we've been searching homes for month, we had only been looking at houses for less than a month. Taylor has been wonderful in keeping in touch with us and amending any changes on the system the company uses in order to narrow the search. Very responsive in his emails and answer any questions that I had in the search. Anyways, we are to close this month and we couldn't have done it without his help. He has been so helpful in making this process as easy and exciting as we had hoped for and I will def be recommending him to all of my friends and family members. read more

This review is long overdue! Taylor Mock at Cabell Childress helped my wife and I find and purchase our first home. Taylor was always courteous, communicative, educational, and professional throughout the entire process. He always went the extra mile to ensure it was a great experience, from start to finish. Taylor helped us determine which wants/needs were most important to us as a couple, put together a realistic budget, and immediately went to work finding properties for us to view. They were extremely thorough in their inspection and worked with Taylor to make sure we got the best deal possible on our home. In short, Taylor Mock is always on the ball! He'll make sure you're comfortable, informed, and he'll go to bat for you when necessary. I can't recommend him enough - especially if you're buying for the first time. Javier Petriz - a man of his words. We hardly knew anything about the buying market and zero idea about the must have / should have / nice to have features that we need to look for in a home. Flexible: During our home search, I was traveling for work, and he was incredible at showing houses during non-business hours and on weekends. Knowledgeable: He knew the area extremely well. He made great feature,location, and price-based recommendations. We looked at MANY MANY homes in the Fan, Carytown, and Byrd Park. He knew the structure, what to look for/avoid/rennovate based on the typical rown house style Patient: As first time home buyers we had so many questions! he was responsive and extremely patient with us. After much thought my wife and I decided to put our house up for sale in the Carillon neighborhood of Richmond and head out to Henrico. What could've been an exhausting and aggravating situation wasn't - because of the Childress Group ! People don't often look forward to buying/selling/moving, but at least there's a business in Richmond that makes it as simple as can be. Cabell Childress had our home sold on the 5th day of listing at a price we were very happy with. His office (Leslie especially!) kept us up to speed with every new development. Not once did we feel neglected or in limbo as so many friends have mentioned regarding their house buying/selling. Cabell can afford to be as confident as he is because he knows his market and puts himself in his client's shoes. My previous experiences with other realtors was shameful in comparison ! Cabell was recommended by one of my coworkers that was his frat brother. Before I listed with Cabell he did a great job with monthly calls to keep me abreast with the housing market in Richmond. He did an excellent job getting me to list with him, once listed he did a terrible job so much so I removed my listing before the sales contract was up. The last straw was when a agent left the door to my home wide open which I saw from my Nest Cam tape. I called Cabell, his office, his staff to alert them that my home was not secure (I was in FL) and to have the showing agent return to secure home. After many hours of calling, email and texting my home was left open all evening long. As a matter of fact they never went back to secure my home and I made other arrangements to close door since as I said I was out of the state. If anyone would like to view the tape I have kept it because the owner has threatened me with a lawsuit if I posted this type of review online. If this is the type of service/agent you want then you should list with Cabell. If not find anyone else. read more

Cabell and team were incredible in the sell of our house. We had an offer within a day and closed soon after. I live out of state, but Laurie (part of Cabell's team) made everything so easy for me. She took care of things I couldn't get done while being out of state. I had a lot less stress knowing and trusting that a great group of people were helping me through this entire process.
