But I am happy to say that in the last couple of weeks with the heat wave that we have been experiencing, WLOX has gotten it right more than ever before. the forecast that is, they've been able to go to the chart, that is like a times table chart and they've been able to tell us what the actual temperature is and with the humidity what the heat index temperature feels like! They have actually got this right which is actually like breaking a record! even though you could teach a first grader, how to chart and give the correct answer for that day! if only they had a chart that could tell us where the hurricanes are going to go! sure, wish Nash Roberts was still around to do the weather. He actually could take a crayon. And a paper bag, and do better with a hurricane forecast than they can do with all the fancy equipment that they have at WLOX. Well enough for today. Back then there was no HD version. It was just a generic non remote controlled TV and my favorite characters. I even learned how to count to ten in Spanish. That knowledge has come in very handy throughout the years. Now my own kids watch the informative children's shows and Big Bird is still relevant. As an adult I no longer care for the kid shows, but do regularly watch the specials on New Orleans, John Besh's New Orleans, and Chef Paul Pruhdohmme's cooking show. In summary, I have learned a lot from channel 12 and I am forever grateful that it's around.
