I was interested of preparation of special coffees, and one of the baristas explained and showed me how to prepare V-60 and Syphon coffee types. Getting expert on it! The atmosphere is quite good. The place is good for working as well, not so loudly.

Petra unlike other chains, actually knows how coffee ought to taste like so if you're in Kanyon and need a quick fix, skip the chain coffee shops, skip the chain cafés like The House Café or Well Done or Kitchenette. Come to Petra, Petra welcomes you my fellow Yelpers, come and enjoy some fine Kenyan beans which burst with floral notes. The only downside of Petra is that it's quite tiny. Their main location is around Gayrettere, which is an incredibly cool looking place but hard to get to. However, this just incoming, I just learned that they're opening a new place around Nisantasi, so great news for those with taste buds!

I am a big fan of MOC. I think they serve the best coffee in Istanbul. The coffee is always the perfect temperature, froth is always beautiful. Their coffees are on the strong side, which is how they are supposed to be. They are pet friendly too. The only thing that I dislike about this MOC (but it is no different than any other cafe/restaurant in Istanbul) is the smoking. Their smoking section is connected to the no smoking section so no matter where you sit, you will breathe second hand smoke. They have the capability of closing the door to keep it separate but it would cause the waiters to continuously have to open and close them if they were serving both sides. Thats the only reason I gave them 4 stars. This is a fairly large shop with lots of people and activity, lots of tables to sit and enjoy, if it weren't for the smoke.

This is a cute coffee shop tucked away in one of the little side streets off Istiklal. We were in a…read morebit of a rush that morning so we ordered two lattes to go, but I would've really enjoyed sipping my latte in the quaint cafe that this was. The marble tables and pastel colors gave it a bit of an Italian or French feel, which helped set the mood as well. While the barista did make us our lattes to go (and they were delicious lattes at that), the cafe lacked to-go cup lids and properly sized sleeves, making the coffee nigh impossible to actually drink while on the go. We just stepped outside and slowly meandered down the street until the coffee was slow enough to sip, so it can be worked around if you have a few minutes to spare to do just that.
