Avoid this dump at all costs! They call this a truck stop? I was here 2 days ago, 1 men's toilet and 3 ladies. Now no water and sewer backed up. Clerk blaming people throwing stuff in toilets. Card readers at fuel pumps don't work, pump handles leak fuel. How can this place still be cooking and serving food??? How do employees was their hands? I used to stop in Oyen on my ventures from Calgary to Saskatoon. One year, I was in a caravan with my cousins, and they stopped in at Cactus Corner. I hadn't even seen the big cactus in the sky on previous trips. But here it is! There's not much else to say other than it's a truck stop. The novelty is definitely the cactus as the sign. Gas prices are higher than in Calgary... but that's the same for most highway stations. The store has all of your usual convenience store amenities... plus showers and laundry for the truckers. The bathrooms aren't scary, the staff are pleasant (even at late hours from my experience) and there's a cafe attached. I think I even ate at it once upon a time on the way to a frisbee tourney... I remember it being decent food. I also like that there are 8 different pumps you can fill up at. It makes for much shorter waits for gassing up on a busy weekend. I stop here every time I drive past Hanna on my way to Saskatchewan. This is a very busy joint, and not just for truck drivers. It has more regular drivers than truckers and I've had to wait for a pump numerous times. Gas prices typically stay on average and the restrooms are usually pretty clean, although they may have a bit of an odor from time to time. Probably one in three stops I have to wait in line. It has a decent convenience store, although I wish they had more hot healthy food choices. Not that I want to judge, but I know many truckers who aren't going to be picky and choose a vegan lasagna over deep fried potato skins and chicken. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but the deserts in the display case look yummy. I saw the most giant pumpkin pie yesterday. They now have added an ice cream booth for summer, which is a good idea. read more

This is easily the most inconvenient convenience store I've ever been to. First gas pump wouldn't accept my airmiles card (which seems like nothing but stay tuned), bathrooms were horrific even for gas station standards and our interaction with the cashier was awful. Who knew that ringing in beef jerky was a ten minute ordeal.... then once everything was wrung in I go to give her my airmiles card but she tells me "I'll only take that if you purchase fuel." Which we did, but we prepaid and it wouldn't take my card. Uggggghhhhh read more
