Cadeaux Bakery has been serving next-level pastries and cakes for over a decade. Its popularity, which is evident from its high ranking on Google Maps, is easy to understand. As a bonus, they participated in this year's Hot Chocolate Festival! We originally came here to pick up a birthday cake, but we walked out with both a cake AND a limited-edition hot chocolate. Birthday Cake - Tropical Cloud (Regular Menu) A beautifully tall round cake with a coconut bean buttercream finish. Every layer was balanced, fresh, and just the right level of sweetness. It was a total hit at the celebration -- everyone loved it! Sweetness: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Unique: 4/5 #041 - Pink Don't Shrink (Hot Chocolate Festival 2025) A pink watermelon-strawberry-cotton candy hot chocolate topped with chantilly whip, strawberry coulis, and a fluffy cloud of cotton candy. It also came with a strawberry cheesecake macaron on the side! Super fun and creative! Sweetness: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Unique: 3/5 Overall, this place is a must-visit if you're looking for a stunning birthday cake or just craving a well-made pastry. Such a hidden gem in Gastown! Presentation: 2/5 Parking: Paid Street Parking Tips: * Some of the BEST pastries & croissants in Gastown. * Famous 9-layer cakes (5 cake layers + 4 filling layers). * Many cake options for birthdays, weddings, or any celebration. * Open kitchen concept -- feels like a live baking show! Would I Return: Yes ‍

Clockwise: Almond croissant, Baileys crème croissant (seasonal) , cherry danish, dark chocolate croissant

Omg, this is the BEST pastries/croissant in Vancouver! Their pastries are so delectably flaky, crispy, and scrumptious! They are not too heavy, not too sweet, and has just the perfect taste & texture. Their croissants are the BEST I've had in my life- it's crazy good. I came back a couple times to stock up, that's how f***ing good their pastries are. Got the: -Baileys Crème croissant: *chef's kiss* (got this multiple times) - dark chocolate croissant: heavenly (got this multiple times) - Cherry Cheese danish: yum. I will say that there is much more cherry than cheese, you could tell the cherry was the center of attention -fruit & chocolate scone: more fruity than chocolate, the chocolate seemed to be more like an accent - hot honey sopressata: deliciously savory and flaky with a nice kick

Passion Fruit Meringue Tart

The Passion Fruit Meringue Tart is a 5 star! Really intense passion fruit flavor. The crust has just the right "firm texture". The Meringue was fluffy and really tasty. Friendly staff in a quiet cafe. Will go back this week get this again and other items. Much better quality than the other cafe brands in Vancouver.

This new bakery is located in the Gastown location below Chinatown in Vancouver, BC. It's small and quaint. There are only a few tables and chairs, but most people want to come in for the cold treats or a pastry with coffee and leave with their purchase. The mango drink is very tasty, and the air conditioning is greatly appreciated on a hot afternoon day, as it was today.

The first time I had the London fog cake from cadeaux I was hooked. It has all the right layers and texture combination in one bite, but it doesn't feel heavy at all. Even after eating a whole slice. The outside is enveloped with a light coat of chantilly cream, which keeps the cake moist. Over the years I've had their London fog cake for my birthdays and many other occasions. It remains one of my favourite cakes in the city. The shop itself is not very big, but they do have some seating inside. They have an industrial feel inside but also a lot of white paint to keep it clean and light. They are just beside the number 5 orange in the downtown east side, which is not very visible but definitely worth the trek. There's lot of street parking outside too, and I have always got a parking spot each time I visited them. Another favourite of mine that they make is the bacon cheddar cheese scone. It's super flakey, soft and packed with flavour. I always put it in the toaster oven for a few minutes after I get it home and it's as good as fresh out of the oven at the bakery. Overall cadeaux is a great place for pastries and cakes. They are really a hidden gem in the neighbourhood.

I can't believe I didn't know about this bakery sooner! I've only found out about Cadeaux Bakery about a month ago and I've already ordered not one, but TWO (birthday) cakes: London Fog and Tropical Cloud. Both super delicious! While picking up my cakes, I couldn't resist getting a pastry. I got the Pistachio Raspberry Croissant de Noel.. so good! Also enjoyed a latte with their house-made lavender.. heavenly! Safe to say this may be my new go-to place for cakes!

Croissants- butter, dark chocolate, raisin and hot cross. And raspberry latte cake

This is my go to bakery from the time I found it . I have tried almost all the cakes and pastries and love all of them. The staff is super friendly. My favourite cake is chocolate cake with coconut. It's awesome. I could only try cakes which are available by the slice :(. They had limited variety of croissant, ruby berry Eton mess, which tasted really good. I have never been disappointed by any item at this bakery. I just hope they had some breakfast sandwiches too in their menu, as it would be awesome.

Quiet little bakery tucked away on Powell street with unique offerings both sweet and savory. Professional bakery on full displays in this minimalist modern environment. Great selection of cookies, croissants, cakes and pastries. Only a few pastries on display on a Sunday early afternoon. Got an Americano and lemon meringue bar to go. Lemon meringue looks thick and enticing. Overall nice bakery for quick bite in the area.

Salted caramel brownies and almond croissants for guess who? The girls!
Herman E.

Corset requirement? Do they even make those things anymore? ----------------------------- Long story long: It was decided to have a friendly competition in the office. The girls wanted a croissant -off, i.e who can bring in the best one. Really? After the pain and suffering that I can put them through, they want this? OK, this will be a nasty self inflicted wound that they're requesting. I'll beat them to a pulp. Bring it on!!!!! Me: "You're asking for it and you're gonna get it. Don't say I didn't warn you - you know my penchant for poisons" Chocolate croissants, almond croissants and salted caramel brownies. http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/cadeaux-bakery-vancouver?select=5jubhyqYOdPw-9R91g01GQ#2sry3Q97UXLMpsUt-d-TyA Colleague: "I don't like brownies." Me: "We'll see about that" Colleague: "Really, I don't" Me: "Suuuuuuuuuure, tell me later that you don't like brownies." (Smugly smiling.) And it's on. Result? ***Yours truly wins easily.*** Colleague: "Wow, I never thought I would like brownies! These are delicious! I can't stop eating these. And these chocolate croissants, OMG!!!!"" Me: 'You're so young and naive!" Colleague: "I need to go on a diet" Me: "Sure you do. You'll be saying the same thing when I bring in another batch." Colleague: "I won't be eating any" I brought in another batch. Same result. =D I'm their worst enemy. Actually, they are their worst enemy. All they have to do is say no. But I know them. They have no will power when it comes to this. Ha!!! ------------------------------------------- Personally, I have a bit of an aversion to sugar. I don't take to desserts and sweets too much any more. The chocolate croissants are slightly too sweet for my palate. Same goes for the salted caramel brownie. That is not to say that they're not good. They both have a beautiful texture. The almond croissant is more to my liking. I only sampled small bites., and I can tell that this stuff IS good. Shame that I don't eat too much of this anymore. ----------------------------------------- Back to the corsets. They've been cursing me, and giggling at the same time. Women are weird. I think if I mention corsets, I'll get a slap in the face. So I won't mention it. I'll continue to poison them instead. It's more amusing that way. I can secretly make them explode and they won't know what hit them. Yes, I'm the king of evil.

Pecan tart
Allister D.

Ughhh!! I'm so mad they didn't have their highly popular London Fog Cake!!! They must run out quick obviously. It's ok because my substitute for it was their pecan tart slice. I thought it was just alright. It tasted like my moms egg pie but with pecans. For $3.75 it was a bit pricey for what it is but it's still tasty. This bakery is great with a nice decor and atmosphere. It's like walking into another pastry boutique. There could be more seating and there should be a water stand somewhere for guests. I also think their employees should be a bit happier rather than down and boring lol idk it just would help with the whole situation. They could also do a better job with helping with picking out another alternative if something were to run out. I didn't get much help. This is a good place for a small sweet treat after a meal. Their pastries and desserts will do the job of satisfying your sweet crave.

So technically this was dessert #3 over the course of not even an hour. The good thing is that this was not an overwhelmingly sweet or heavy dessert. It really went down with the same ease as just a regular mango would have, but it just had some extra (mostly natural) stuff. I'd happily enjoy this deliciousness on a regular basis if I lived in Vancouver. There were a ton of menu items that looked appealing, so I'm might even be their best customer.

As I love desserts, I was so excited to see Chinatown and visit this place for the first time. This place was located in an area that would be best to walk with a friend or a small group- I was not quite prepared to see and experience what was going on all around. Finally, we made it there and were glad to order some doughnuts. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the sweet smell of doughnuts and the two friendly staff. Everything looked so good, so narrowing down our pick was very hard! At the end, we ordered two flavours- Matcha and Tiramisu. The matcha doughnut was soft and the filling was light yet full of matcha flavour that one would expect, I loved every bite! My friend had the tiramisu doughnut and she said that she enjoyed the fluffy texture of the dough and the creamy filling- it felt like eating tiramisu in a doughnut form. Their waffles are incredibly crisp and light, despite the amount of toppings on them. I don't know how they make them so they stay so resistant to going soggy. And despite the amount of whipped cream, ice cream and sauce on them, the waffle was always able to balance out the sweetness. Their waffles are just perfect balance of flavour and texture. Service was also quite impressive. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and brought share plates with out being asked. Overall, a great dessert. I don't know why I haven't returned earlier.
