This is going to be a long review because I'm very particular, and want to include details that I…read morelike to know when hiring someone to do work on my home. A friend had an excellent kitchen remodel, and I asked her contractor if he could recommend a good plumber. He said without hesitation that I should call Porter Plumbing in Norwalk. I spoke with Tom Porter a few times during this process; the phone was always answered quickly and I never had to leave a voicemail and wait for a call back. Tom had me send him pictures of the area under the sink and measurements so he could give me an estimate. The sink I wanted had 9" bowls instead of the 7" bowls in my old sink. I was so thankful when he told me a solution to a problem that I thought would prevent me from getting the sink I really wanted! The two service techs that came out were Lanny and James, and they were the perfect technicians. They didn't mind that I wanted to watch so I could see what was involved, and didn't mind answering my questions. I know first hand the care they take while working. I was impressed with several things they did and had no complaints at all. If I ever need a plumber again I'll call Porter and specifically ask that they send one or both of them. I've already given the name of the company and the techs to a few friends, and it has only been a couple of days since the install. Lanny was starting to put little booties on his feet when I told him that wasn't necessary. They put down a big tarp and placed their tool bags, tools, vacuum and everything else they used for the job on the tarp and not directly on my floor. Too much caulking was used to seal around and under my original sink. They were very careful with cutting it, used shims to help get the sink raised up, and even put soft gloves between the shims and the counter to protect the counter when they used a hammer to wedge the shims under the sink. They were very thorough with getting all of the old caulking cleaned off. They were very meticulous - going so far as making sure the logo on my faucet was lined up perfectly with the piece dividing the two bowls, and making sure the logo on the sink flange was lined up with the back of the sink and readable! They vacuumed several times to make sure debris wasn't tracked through my house during the job, and cleaned up after themselves so well you wouldn't have known I'd had plumbing work done. They were extremely thorough, and checked everything multiple times to make sure everything was working and nothing was leaking. As they were leaving, I was thanked for my business and reminded that they guarantee their work.
