After spending the day at Lapostolle, we wanted to squeeze in a second winery and decided to try our luck and just show up at Viu Manent. It was just past 4:30 pm and we asked if we could do a tasting and were told that there were no more tastings at that hour, but to hold on a second and they would double check. We perused the gift shop for a few minutes before they invited us to the back bar for a private tasting session. I really appreciated them accommodating us and not being such sticklers about our lack of reservation like some places in Napa can be. Being just the two of us, it was a very personal tasting, and the wines and their history were explained to us very fully. I just regret that I did not love any of them. When asked to choose my favorite and describe it in one word, I had a difficult time as I did not have a clear favorite. It may just be personal preference as I know that their wine is very popular.
