Consequently it became the best preserved example of German Baroque architecture in the country. The Espresso-Bar Cafe Kränzel is a jewel of a place that epitomizes the charming character of Görlitz. It is located in one of the best areas of the city -- in fact the historic core. If you are walking between the Untermarkt (the older and smaller market square) and the church of Sts. Peter and Paul (a glorious architectural colossus), your likely path will be on the street called Neissstrasse. That would bring you directly to the Cafe, at the corner with the street Kränzelstrasse. The proprietor of the Cafe is a wonderful person. I learned that he, a bright artistic type who is quite personable, studied the art of coffee (in its many magnificent varieties) in Italy, perhaps the best place to learn all about it. Anyone who visits this place will feel most welcome, and certainly they will be treated to some of the best offerings available in this lovely city. If wifi is your only reason to go here though beware- it isn't very strong you may have to ask for it to be reset.
