Breakfast or lunch at the Mothership is always a treat--I find myself looking for excuses to head toward Danbury around lunchtime just so I can nosh on Anna's yummy concoctions. The food is always inventive and special-feeling (think cheddar corn chowder, empanadas, or made-to-order panini), and the staff knows how to make a serious latte or cappuccino. Speaking of coffee, the beans are delivered fresh from a supplier in NYC who knows his stuff. There's always an assortment of delicious baked goods--my favorites are the apricot brie tart and the molasses cookie (made from a family recipe that you'll wish you could get your hands on!). Everything is made from scratch daily, including the signature ciabatta rolls, which accompany most dishes. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and you get the sense that you're among friends. Nobody does it like Mothership. Everything is so fresh,home made and delicious. Baked goods are out of this world . I can't find such quality goods anywhere else.... I am very picky ! My favorites are strawberry bread pudding, lemon blueberry muffins, scones. ....and black bean soup, tuna fish salad, salad bar....cheese cake... Oh !!!! Great place !!! read more

Anna and two of her staff catered a small wedding at our home this past weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The rack of lamb served over roasted vegetables was not only elegant but scrumptiously savory. Truffle mashed potatoes was a creative twist and the chicken with roasted pepper kabobs were exceptionally moist, which isn't always easy with grilled breast. The stuffed, roasted eggplant halves were excellent! I could go on and one, but I need to mention that the wedding cake was AMAZING! Not only was the food of the highest possible quality, but the ladies are the nicest people. They were prompt and courteous, resourceful (when one of my two ovens broke), and they cleaned up my kitchen really well! read more

I come to Danbury on business and have been on a hunt for a place to get my morning coffee and Danish. The pickings are slim. I was excited to see this place got good reviews but I had to wait a couple of days to check it out since it isn't open every day. It's also not located in a very convenient location, unless you happen to work in the building. You have to park on the side of the building and then walk to the back. They don't have a huge selection but I was hoping that meant they were one of those places that does a few things well. I got a cinnamon walnut muffin and a coffee. The muffin was dry and there were only walnuts on the top. The coffee had good flavor but it was served in those carafes with the button on top for dispensing so it wasn't very warm. At least I got to add my own cream and sugar! The lunches looked pretty good and if I were in the area I'd probably come back and check them out but in the end it was too much trouble for a quick breakfast that wasn't much better than a dunkin donuts. read more

Considering other options in the area, this is a dream come true. Sandwiches with fresh baked breads and amazing deserts which are not too sweet. I would come here more often if they had skim milk available for their coffee instead of just cream. read more

Where to start? I needed an assortment of goodies to bring to an on site meeting at which I was presenting. I checked for bakeries local to my company and Mothership popped up first both in proximity and rating. My meeting was at 10 and I showed up at 8 looking for the signature Airstream out front. It's gone but signs pointed towards the rear of the complex for Mothership. I needed to buy for approximately 15 people but when I saw the selections noted they were too large for me to want to purchase. I also would have been spending way more than the $20 budget I had targeted. Owner Anna Lianos told me she could have baked half size portions with notice but obviously this wasn't going to happen before my meeting. I made excuses to leave when Anna suggested she portion large items into smaller pieces. Not only did she arrange them beautifully on the tray I had brought but also the price came in slightly less $20! I wish I could tell you how everything tasted but it was devoured before I got the chance. I did get to taste a scrap of blueberry lemon muffin it was heaven! I also bought what looked to be scones with figs on the tops of them and what looked to be a sticky bun type thing - the prior meeting had pastries from Ovens of France and people said this was comparable! Honestly, this is a hidden GEM!!! They have the most amazing food, and absolutely everything is fresh; Anna even makes her own breads. It is open early for breakfast too. The owner will always give helpful tips, specials, and you are guaranteed to get fresh and savory meals (from salads to sandwiches, and more). You can't help but be happy with how friendly the staff is as well. A MUST!!!! It is on the lower level of the corporate building. read more

Tracked down this little gem after reading about it in Connecticut Magazine. Small menu but big on flavor and fresh ingredients. It's situated in a business building but open to the public. We gave into temptation and bought several of the home-baked goodies home. They're soon opening another location on Main Street in Danbury. Can't wait! read more

Listen people, I know it's in a corporate park, but is worth the struggle of finding the actual location. I wandered for a bit to find the bakery the first time, but I would wander for 100,000,000 miles for this place. Everything, and I mean everything is wonderful there. The staff is contagiously happy, super helpful, and just all around lovely. The environment is cheery, clean, and orderly. I love the Harney Teas, and stalk the facebook page like a mad woman to find out the weekly specials. Everything is delicious as far as food goes. Ive had everything from pancakes to fish tacos there! Salad bowls are great for an on the go lunch. But the baked goods are divine. Seriously tastes like home made from your grandmas kitchen. Clearly everything is made with love, you can taste it! I really love bring my mom here and treating her to a wonderful time with incredible eats! Thank you so much for being in business. Came in last week after my MIL went to a party that was catered by these fine ladies. She swore we would love it since everything is fresh and even their decadent items feel somewhat healthy. She was right - it was superb. We tried several items. Their Waldorf Chicken Salad was amazing. So fresh and just the right amount of mayo (a pet peeve of mine when not done right). I had a grilled chicken sandwich with lemon dill aioli and havarti cheese on what I can only imagine was a freshly baked ciabatta roll. The magic in this place is in the details. It's impeccably clean, you can see the ingredients prepared right in front of you and the team is incredibly kind and patient. If you care about real, fresh, whole foods and genuinely great service, you will love this place. They care about everything down to the condiments and that's important to get the right end result. Not only will I be a regular for lunch, we'll likely try out Mothership for our next catering event. Reviewers need to get past the location. Some of the best food I've had in my life was off of food trucks in the middle of nowhere. I don't care where an establishment serves their food - I care about taste, cleanliness and to some extent, service. And these ladies are doing it right. read more
